  1. I fucking hate the botanist. You can never get a seat and its full to the brim of posers. Like CT.
  2. Then again, there's now a counter narrative afoot with Corbyn's story being endorsed by many other people who were also sat on the floor. Someone has also pointed out that Virgin may not take kindly to Corbyn's attempts to nationalise. So that's muddied the hell up again. At the end of the day though, this story really isn't that big a deal, and it's currently headlining in the Guardian.
  3. They were talking about it the other day actually, and to be brutally honest, didn't seem that arsed. So I'm ultimately not especially excited by this.
  4. You're right of course, I had forgotten how blessed we are with cover at left back.
  5. Politicians... I dunno, maybe this is what it takes to be 'electable'.
  6. It's just fun, isn't it? Lots of people seem engaged. That said, we're running the risk of someone needing to use the 'This is why we can't have nice things' meme, presently.
  7. The current system is undemocratic and is ruled by a group of faceless elites who squander our input. We need to take our back control of our predictions!
  8. That's a fair point I guess. He just never seems to go anywhere though. Pardew has occasionally looked like he might touch something approaching glory, even if it's largely by happy coincidence of circumstances. Thanks for the stats as well, HF - I think that's probably about right and I guess the FA can see that too. He could of course change the players in his squad quite regularly to give lifts, etc. but I guess that's not quite the same thing.
  9. Swallows and Amazons is set roughly when? early 1900s? You do have to wonder at the Guardian/Observer. They're so far up their own arse with PC culture that they've lost sight of reality somewhat.
  10. Omitting CT's predicted scoreline which was submitted through a mechanism other than the forum-wide agreed method is one of the great humanitarian crises of our time. At least that's how it's coming across.
  11. Ah I see you did - my bad. Must have skimmed that bit
  12. Fucking hell man, at least pre-warn people that you don't have an answer
  13. He looks pretty fucking good based on that!
  14. Heh, yeah. Can you imagine trying to exist on the same planet as Pardew if he won an international tournament? We'd have to abandon the planet and relocate to his head instead. I don't understand why we didn't just get a foreign manager really, it's not like BSA is going to build anything even vaguely remarkable.
  15. I guess so. I think I'd rate Pardew a step higher than Bruce and Allardyce though. Just.
  16. I always took the view that it displayed what the player's actual value was, rather than what a club might sell him for. I appreciate that the latter is actually the true 'value' but at the same time I think it's worth having an understanding of what a player is actually worth based on other (presumably objective) measures. Sissoko is on at £11m which is probably what he's actually worth in fairness. What we're prepared to sell him for is clearly a lot higher than that though. I see what you're saying though.
  17. Transfermarkt has him at just over £2m. For a 27 year old that's not a big fee... I suspect we'd actually pay about £4m though.
  18. Aye I'd taken McCarthy no bother. Hopefully it's going to be a useful few days for transfers. We're definitely carrying on like the Man City of the Champ'ship with some of these names though.
  19. How does he pass a medical when injured, exactly? I thought clubs rarely overrulled such things...
