  1. This, all the way. The only team who are stupid enough to make a purchase along the lines of the fee we're talking about without scouting him are Real Madrid, and their interest has faded/was fabricated. It'll be interesting to see him get on in the Cship.
  2. I assume/hope he's on the wind up like I struggle to think of any scenario under which you'd predict a 6-3 scoreline...
  3. I'm going to wait until nearer to the end in the hope that the discourse returns to being intellectual and not hysterical.
  4. 2-0 to us. Can't really see any reason why this would be a problem to us if all cylinders are firing.
  5. I think that's the fundamental disconnect though - Corbyn doesn't trust the media so just doesn't 'bother' with them. Instead, he mobilises support from the grassroots up. This shouldn't phase the media unless they genuinely put a lot of stock in their ability to control the way we think and vote - which I obviously believe they do, but some disagree. If Corbyn bypasses them and goes straight to us, they've lost control though. I don't think any amount of PR is going to save him on the media front now though, the only option is to keep ploughing ahead until they either manage to make him irrelevant or he eventually proves that he has more influence over people than they do.
  6. ...How would that be in any way fishing? Fishing for what? People who believe he's an idiot? Dear me...
  7. I think we can all agree that needed to be said three times.
  8. Yeah it's hard to have any real concerns on scoring potential at this stage, we look strong. I suppose cover for Mitrovic would have been useful but that now looks unlikely. EDIT - MInd you, Rafa was saying the other day that he sees them as competing for the same spot rather than necessarily being linked up (though he said that was possible too) so I don't know how likely we are to get the pairing we all expect...
  9. Yeah that was impressive. I like the guy, it looks like he's the real deal.
  10. Ah really? What's the point in doing a letter like that if it's not real? I've just read Wenger's comments, and they're not actually quite what is being conveyed in this letter anyway. Sounds to me like he's saying the club can't go out and spend £300m recklessly as it has a responsibility to other staff members - and I take that to mean, preserving their jobs by making sound financial decisions.
  11. Although he's not going to be able to claim dole money for 6 months. Hope he planned for that!
  12. I have some begrudging respect for that actually... Did Wenger actually come out and blame club staff for not being able to buy players?
  13. Fair enough man, I'm not having a go - I enjoy your feuds with Fish as much as anyone. Glad to hear Gamez improved as he went along - that's very encouraging.
  14. Fair enough - I'm not saying I expect us to win in truth, I'm just not convinced that we should be concerned about playing anyone in this league. I'm aware of the pride before fall aspect of this but even so. I really don't think any team in this division should be able to withstand us if we get into gear.
  15. That's fair enough but it's not like they're any better, objectively, than a team like Watford, or West Brom, or Swansea in the Prem, is it? Yes our team is weaker than it was at PL level, but I suspect by the end of this season it'll be better than the one we went down with.
  16. Honestly, I don't even know why Corbyn is continuing with his. He must be sick to the back teeth of the media by now and yet he still hangs on. Why? I mean, even though I agree with his policies I can see he and Labour now have no chance of getting into government any time soon, whatever happens. I read that he was very close to quitting when the mass resignations happened, and was talked into staying. I bet he's regretting it now.
  17. The inevitable post match argument with CT has begun, it seems. I didn't see any of it so have little to contribute, but I do recall the radio commentators (I know..!) giving Gamez a hard time in the first 20 mins or so. Saying he looked unconvincing. I guess he must have improved as the match went on? It sounded dire for the first half an hour or so.
  18. Mitro will get his chance to impress CT. If he gets a hat trick or something at some point, CT will think he's the best thing since sliced bread. Glad to hear his injury isn't a concussion - hopefully we can make a real statement at Brighton now. For all people are talking them up, I think it's worth noting that this is a team who, if they were in the Prem, would be lower bottom half.
  19. Yedlin is just a replacement I guess. Reckon most of our transfer activity from here will just be about covering players who are about to leave. Good luck to Krul I suppose, hope he has a good season. It's hard to group him into the same category as players like Sissoko, he's been here for years and was injured for most of last season anyway - hard to blame him for much of it.
