  1. Actually just read that the concept is a creche for allowing mothers to become involved in Momentum. Sort of like Sunday School. It all depends on whether or not the 'Momentum Sunday School' is preaching or if they're just looking after them, IMO. If the latter, then this is actually a good thing for helping mothers to be politically engaged.
  2. Just been on to a Spurs forum and tbf they seem to be pretty happy with what they saw. Some excuses being made for him not being up to speed with the rest of the team yet, which they think is normal given he's only been there for a short time, but generally all positive. I guess that's how we were at first too though, so it'll probably take time for them to end up with the same opinion of him as we do.
  3. I genuinely think that's possible you know. We should spend the next year following their downfall claiming that it was us who relegated them since we robbed them of six points. That's the kind of logic they're using anyway.
  4. This would be a big concern for me actually - political organisations shouldn't be responsible for teaching politics to young people. It should be the job of schools to provide as impartial a view as possible. Very uncomfortable with the idea that young people will be introduced to and then brought up within one ideology's echo chamber. It's religion-esque.
  5. Between the two of you I think you've got it spot on.
  6. The centre was always doomed as all the parties were effectively blending into each other, but realistically, old new labour caused this when they betrayed everyone on austerity. I understand why they did, believing that the right wing press had established their bullshit narrative about the economy, but that's what killed them. What we're seeing now is the betrayed betraying the betrayer. This will be a good thing in the long run I think. Not for Labour as a party, but for most people in the country in the end. The establishment got the kicking I voted Corbyn in for and I'm happy enough with that personally. Thank fuck something changed in the end.
  7. Aye, true enough. I just wish they weren't pissing all over things I loved to keep up with the 'fashion'. Have Disney taken over the video game producing aspects of the franchise as well? Can we expect more of the same on that front...? I think the thing that's bothering me here is that Disney either don't know or don't care how deep the universe went behind the films. They could achieve all their little SJW objectives while being true to the story for FFS, is that really too much to ask? In this case they could just swap the relative importance of Jan Ors and Katarn - both could still be in, Jan could be made kick ass enough to appeal to those who don't give a shit about the story and only see the film as a vehicle for mass social brainwashing or whatever the goal is, and Katarn could still play an integral role. The story could be broadly preserved, and they wouldn't have annihilated the Jedi Knight series. I wasn't too concerned about Starkiller (Force Unleashed) going the same way as he was a fairly recent addition to the canon anyway, but Jedi Knight as well would be too much IMO. I know it's not going to happen like, and I still hope I enjoy the movie... I think I'll just try to consider that this is all some temporary alternate universe like the Trekkies have to... Rant over
  8. Why on earth is that being filmed up here It's awesome, but why?
  9. 25 mins in and the guardian notes that Sunderland have had 14% possession. Is that a record?
  10. If everyone was held to that standard, none of us would have jobs... The mackems need to stfu on this one. And in general.
  11. It was pointed out to me yesterday that the Rogue One story is basically Kyle Katarn's, so we can expect him to have been written out of the universe now Not that I expected him to ever show up actually but those games with him in were some of the best ones going. I think I now appreciate how disappointed Trekkies were with the reboot of their films. Yes they're good films but it is difficult to see characters you grew up with written out of existence. Hopefully he's in the film somewhere...
  12. Having read the last few pages of the thread on rtg, all I can say is that some of the carry on about it on there is beyond shameful. What an absolute bunch of whining children they are.
  13. How can he be sacked for that though? It's not like the echo won't have known about his affiliations before taking him on.
  14. Same. This is post-brexit UK, much as I feared. The problem is the Tory state cutting ideology at the root of things. It's made enough people sufficiently desperate that they've been prepared to go to extremes. Both with Corbyn and Brexit. In effect though, this is potentially a good thing. The Tories have to spend now. They have to improve people's lives. If they don't, they'll find that more and more people are prepared to vote for extreme things.
  15. I've been trying to find any relevant news about Owen Smith in the papers but it seems the world has moved on. That must be pretty depressing, I genuinely feel bad for him... Ridiculous and entirely pointless leadership election about to come to a head I suppose. I wonder how long it'll be before the next one.
  16. I keep hearing from people that Brighton (or Bristol, can't remember which) lost 5 games last year and failed to go up. They got playoffs but lost out. Obviously not great news for us. That said, it's a rather basic analysis and doesn't take draws into consideration.
  17. Good news, thanks for letting us know troops.
  18. If he's 5, might he not grow out of it? But yeah, that sounds like a more difficult than normal environment. Sounds like your sister has some unresolved issues as well, mind. This is why I think it's important to address stuff like this while young, so it doesn't bed in and fester, so to speak.
  19. Just got wind of this and thought for sure Wykiki would be up in arms about it. Something embarrassing is bound to come out mind, you just know it. Someone will be caught out.
  20. This comment has no apparent context that I can see (unless it's this Westworld film?) and so just looks fucking bizarre in the chronology of posts

I guess I'm suffering from not really having been able to watch many games here, but I don't have the impression as it stands that Gouffran is going to develop into anything of any real significance. Alright he scored a good goal, but is he really contributing that much? As I say, I'm not seeing enough matches to know, I'm just wondering if a few heads have been turned simply because of that strike. Lascelles on the other hand has been part of a defence that hasn't conceded in 5 games... Again though, he's not been in the team for all of those games I suppose. I think this question would be better answered later on in the season
  22. Wonder what he's so angry about... is the family still together? i.e. dad at home? My head got fucked right up when my dad left, is all I mean by that. I'm better now...mostly
