  1. It's ridiculous how much everyone took to Mitro He hasn't achieved a great deal with us at all but his attitude has gone a long way. I'd love to see him properly established here and doing well.
  2. On the plus side, we can be fairly confident that her spell as president is going to keep Wikileaks in business...
  3. That makes sense, I can see the logic of Gatwick being used instead based on that. That's also true I'll probably just back out of this now, I'm agreeing with everyone. That said, the stat you've posted there is disgraceful.
  4. Absolutely agree with this. It's terrifying.
  5. Did you read the article that I posted a few days back that explained what Neoliberalism is and the problems it is responsible for...? At this point it's not so much 'liberalism' and 'conservatism' and more the prevailing ideology that the West lives by. Neoliberalism is fundamentally a backlash against the welfare state; it's about true competition in markets and the classification of all people as consumers. It isn't directly comparable to Neoconservatism in the way we think of politics. You're thinking of this as a binary 'conservatives are on the right, liberals are on the left' issue. In reality, Neoconservatism is about interventionist foreign policy and a general support for Israel, predominantly. Neoliberalism is the general philosophy by which the West operates. Despite the terms, they're not comparable labels. Comparing them is the same as comparing Soviet foreign policy with Communism. Neoconservatives can and have been Neoliberals as well. Reagan is generally considered to be a conservative president. He's also a leading Neoliberal, based on his economic policies. Thatcher was a Neoliberal. Blair was. These people believe in the market above all else. Opposition to Neoliberalism traditionally comes from the Tea Party right (or Brexit), and the Socialist Left (Corbyn and then some). the reason I keep harping on about it, is that this Neoliberalist ideology that we live under, is causing absolute mayhem with people's lives now. It's failures are giving us Brexit, Corbyn, Trump, the rise of the hard right in Europe, the annihilation of Greece, rampant wealth inequality, and so on. Neoconservatism has given us ISIS and terrorism, but they're directly tied to foreign policy.
  6. It's not that they're democrats, it's that they're Neoliberals.
  7. I'll just drop this from the Guardian about Elizabeth Warren and how much better it could have been than Clinton... https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/oct/25/elizabeth-warren-us-president-workers-rights-wall-street
  8. Aye. And it's not like we haven't won 6-0, away, this season already...
  9. Not that tonight's game has much to do with whether or not we get promoted, but we're starting to look pretty fucking consistent. And as Howay says, our strength in depth is formidable.
  10. The top 4 are all starting to break away..!
  11. We'd obliterate Hull man. I genuinely think this team wouldn't get relegated from the PL. We'd not be great, but look at the shite down the bottom end...
  12. Just checked their forum and they seem curiously confident that they're going to smash us on Saturday based on that
  13. On the BBC they mentioned this was Preston's reserves, so we shouldn't get too ahead of ourselves. That said we're cleaning up at the moment. Great result
  14. With Shelvey out of the side, it'll be interesting to see how functional we are without him.
  15. That's a useful suggestion. For that, you'd need a party voted in with this sort of thing in its manifesto. Achievable, albeit unlikely.
  16. Solving the latter one would solve all the others, very likely.
  17. Aye which makes sense in your case. It's a NIMBY position but it's still relevant.
  18. Renton has a good point here, thinking about it. If the argument that we as individuals can't do a sufficient amount to make a difference, and that government's should legislate for it, then you'd have to say that we as a country are in the same position. You'd need a body like the UN (but with power) to actually make any meaningful change. A federation of nations. Something like the EU...
  19. That much is true in the same way that 'the individual can't do anything' is true. A bit less so, given the UK's status, but still relevant. We'd need universal acceptance of the challenges and that's not going to happen unless we're 'all in'.
  20. Well that's fair enough in truth, but I do actually think this is one of those things where an individual makes no difference. Legislation against companies is what is needed.
  21. Well yeah, it's the right time to do it. Just interesting to see the sheer number of clubs who feel they're not meeting board expectations.
  22. I think it's more that it would be pointless for him to do so. HF isn't going to save the world on his own. This isn't one of those things that you can leave to 'the people'. Besides, if all main parties got behind it, it'd get through.
  23. Is this sackings at the normal rate season to season or is this year special?
