  1. I'm still not 100% sure he's going to be sworn in, you know... this all has the look of a possible attempt to derail it.
  2. Apart from being bizarre, it's not actually that big a deal though. It's not like he killed someone.
  3. Sad story that. To think that it was all over a shoe as well ffs.
  4. I'd agree, it'd be hard to argue that it isn't in the public interest to know what another state has on the leader of your country. While it may be embarrassing for Trump, the risk of him being blackmailed is substantial.
  5. Holy fuck If this is true though, the intelligence services have done him a solid here. Russia can't blackmail him for that stuff now. Unless they have videos I guess.
  6. Didn't Command and Conquer try that one? They suggested WW2 would have happened anyway with Stalin as the villain
  7. I think it's healthy to read and critically analyse such things. Does sound kind of worrying based on the last paragraph of your post though...
  8. That was his original plan, not the new one Nice try though
  9. I emailed him the ratio plan earlier, so that's clearly the reason for this U turn. Does look a bit silly though - should have consulted me first.
  10. Yep, give me a bit and I'll join you.
  11. Where is that referenced out of interest? It does seem clear that a majority are content or higher in terms of happiness with him.
  12. I'm buying in Sandyford at the moment which is to Jesmond what South Gosforth is to Gosforth (IMO). Depends what you're looking for though? New builds or places with character?
  13. Fair enough, but what follows it?
  14. Given that she chose to run for leader and to see this through, you should have precisely zero sympathy for her.
  15. Of course. It's just so obvious.
  16. You make it sound as though this is planned and Illuminati style though which I'm not certain I agree with. Who are these people?
  17. Ah ok I'm with you now. So you're in effect suggesting that less social movement, as we're seeing, is part of the plan. Sort of like how FIFA implemented financial fair play in football, having the effect of entrenching the wealth, success and power of those at the top already and making it more difficult for anyone else to ascend to the same level. That's a grim overview. Feasible though... It would only work in a society where economics has wholly overtaken politics as the keeper of power though. I'm not sure we're quite (Brexit) there yet.
  18. I suspect they would become a factor if we lived in some kind of entirely unmotivated future civilisation though...
  19. Yikes, sounds grim... glad you're better.
  20. Agree but disagree. People need something to aspire to, you can't just aim to move around a finite amount of capital. We should be looking beyond wealth of a material sort though - possibly developing science and tech and reaching out beyond the planet we're on.
  21. I'm actually having to resist apologising presently... I'll finish it this week, I promise.
  22. I'm close to finished I'm just not a fast book reader. Plus I keep reading things then going off to research around them further and so on. I'm not well versed on finance so it requires a bit of effort.
  23. It was my dad who got me it but the sentiment was likely the same.
  24. I got that for Christmas, but I'm finishing the one you suggested first. I'll look forward to it then!
