Good playing with ya @@Tom Can't believe we didn't win that last one. If not for that fucking behemoth...

How come? To settled down south or is it a career thing?

Gives you some sympathy with Bournemouth though!

This is mostly for show tbf. I do appreciate your points, and you don't need to persuade me that Trump should be handling the media a lot fucking better than he is.

I start in the lower leagues or play as Newcastle. I've played as Gateshead before but for some reason tend to play as Worcester City more. I got them into the UEFA cup once which all 3000 of my fans celebrated joyously It can be satisfying to rise up through the leagues but it does take fucking ages to get to any real aspect of success.

I so want to say "At least we'd have moved past the pretense" but to be fair to you, the Western media is nowhere near as bad as China or Russia's, at least in terms of supporting their state.

Have you thought about putting a £100m offer in for one of Gatesheads players? As a social experiment to see what they can do with that level of investment?

£346m You're an accountant or something IRL, right? I think I remember you saying that. Ashley should fucking sign you up

That's bizarre actually - Waterstones can be fucking useless with stocking books though. They needs about a year's notice to get anywhere near ready for holding anything that isn't a blockbuster title.

You do have to question why Quiff made that particular issue known on here

I suppose I can see why you think that. It's not as big a concern to me but it could well be a sign of things to come.

In terms of how it looks, sure. In terms of the usefulness of the content, it's about the same.

Still not 100% convinced he'll be sworn in you know. There's just so much dubious shit coming out that it would be borderline irresponsible to swear him in. I guess not doing so would also be highly contentious though. Agree that these are dark and confusing days.

Ok I just read it - you're talking about CNN presumably? Well, it's kinda funny to read the transcript but look, he's a massive child and this isn't a good direction to head in. The last thing we need is the MSM kowtowing to power more than they already do.

Not much different to the non-answers they get from ordinary politicians, I would say.

In other news Soulja Boy and Chris Brown are to have a boxing match to settle a feud http://www.rap-up.com/2017/01/10/chris-brown-soulja-boy-to-fight-in-dubai/ They're doing it in Dubai because obviously. EDIT - Mike Tyson is training Brown: http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/38552656/mike-tyson-will-train-chris-brown-in-his-fight-against-rapper-soulja-boy?intc_type=promo&intc_location=sport&intc_campaign=tysontrainingbrown&intc_linkname=newsbeat_ent_article1 "I'm going to teach him how to bite somebody's ear" - Mike Tyson.

Bold question given the stick you get...!

Nothing, it was related to the overall theme of depressing and tragic stories rather than to the rather quirky theme of shoes.

I keep thinking you're Alex because of your avatar. Just FYI I'm in agreement with your stance on this whole thing tbh.

The media are ok as long as they're acting in the interests of the people, whether they support something I believe in or not. I'm entitled to my opinion on what those interests are, and I think with Brexit and Trump on the horizon we can agree that the current system needs, at the very least, some tweaking. The reason I don't think they're acting in such interests, is that they're almost all owned by corporate powers and very wealthy individuals. With the sole (to my knowledge) exception of the Guardian.

Seriously!? That's amazing. Almost makes me want to watch it.

I think you've missed my issue with the MSM actually. I don't want rid of them at all, I just want people to see past their spin, and for them to cease being a barrier to meaningful change. As long as they're unwilling to do this then yes, I consider them to be a problem.

It depends who you're talking about. The key bit for me is their support or otherwise of a failing system and their complicity in maintaining this system. If non-MSM sources are culpable of this then yes, I'd argue that they're in the same boat. Not all are, though. The Guardian, as much as I find it incredibly unhelpful in a number of ways, is the closest thing in terms of the major news sources to something I could get behind. The problem I have with them is that they're useful idiots for the same powers.
