  1. I can probably play for a bit - might be on and off this evening though.
  2. Murphy did score today mind... Not sure we're totally screwed, looks capable enough.
  3. Brighton still have a game in hand but we're looking ok based on today's results. As an aside to us though, wtf happened to Bristol? Lost 5 on the bounce and now inbound to the relegation places. Weren't they up with us earlier in the season? Edit - Villa clearly not coming up this year either, despite the Bruce revolution.
  4. Superb article from Marina Hyde about the failing of the press to hold Trump to account: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/jan/13/trump-master-media-manipulator-malarial-press-conference-wildlife
  5. He did back McClaren, mind. I actually think that two factors are combining to improve him - 1 is that his dumbass philosophy failed and so he'll now have to approach them game in the same way others do, and 2 is that I actually think he needs positive PR at the moment and may well do for a few years. We'd allow him that were we successful.
  6. Maybe it's an age thing, but do you guys not find you can meet people and have drinks during the week? Most of my socialising is mid week these days. After work drinks etc.
  7. If you haven't played online video games while drunk, you've not lived.
  8. Worth it. You can see people during the week and ffs you get loads of free time.
  9. The conversation options can be pretty fucking restrictive tbf.
  10. I dunno where else you find this stuff out tbh.
  11. Another day in the lives of SJWs. Such heroes.
  12. FM always had him around £40k/week. Not sure though.
  13. Aye, no great loss. Barely a loss at all. Decent player a few years ago but always gave away too many fouls for me. Limited passer as well. That goal against Arsenal though...!
  14. I'm drinking too and don't have work tomorrow so I'm up for this, but probs not till later. Will join you after 10.
  15. They have a plan for 9000 more corporate seats apparently. That'll be the bulk of what's paying for it - the cheapest they get is £195pp, rising to £695 pp. Per match, that is. If all 9000 are the lowest option possible, they'd get an extra £52.5m right there (less whatever the costs are for this). Plus about £20m from other tickets. I'd imagine it's a 5 year plan and that each season nets them c.£100m back against that with corporate seats averaging at around £3-400 or so.
  16. Such a shame. I still recall watching a video of a man who had lost a leg come out against Obamacare saying something like 'It's insulting to think that I need the state to intervene in my life, even though I only have one leg and am in near constant pain'. Ideology is such a curse.
  17. At the risk of angering Gemmill, that housing package was on the table with the original offer, and so you can still honestly claim you're 30% down on expected income.
  18. Any fair minded company would honour the rate they intended to pay in the first instance. They have a dollar account if they're paying him in dollars, so they wouldn't incur any exchange rate costs for paying him. Admittedly it'd be a higher dollar amount, but ffs they must appreciate the position any of their staff would be in here.
  19. Ahh I'm with you now. That should be an easy enough discussion though, they could just set the exchange rate for your salary payment at whatever it would have been 6 months ago rather than basing it on the live rate.
  20. Can you ask to be paid in dollars? Why would you want to be paid Sterling when you're living in the US anyway...?
