  1. I don't share the hate for Forest so I'd take the league. Hoping Blackburn go down, I feel like they're a team that always does well against us, so the farther away they are, the better.
  2. Don't get your hopes up... come on man, yes it's possible but this is us, we'll either both lose, or we'll win 10-0 and they'll get a 95th minute winner courtesy of an own goal following the ball ricocheting in off a low flying seagull. I just don't think we're lucky enough for them to drop that many points and for us to capitlise.
  3. No chance Brighton will lose their next game IMO. Hughton will put a rocket up them after that. Surprised they fucked it up.
  4. Yes. But it's not like we should or have embraced that. I just get wound up by notions that us 'up north' should be happy with our lot in lives and let the big guys continue uninterrupted. Fuck that. This is a great city and it deserves a football team that can rival the best, even if that is presently not possible. We should always be aspiring to it.
  5. It's not so much that he thinks we can't do it. I think we all know how hard that'll be. It's that he thinks we need to reign in our ambition and just accept that a low level of achievement and be happy with it. What kind of a message is that?
  6. Moyes has come out and said he wants to stay next year after having spent the past couple of days trolling them about the possibility of him leaving He's like their Pardew. Someone they all hate but who just won't go away.
  7. Actually can't quite believe they finally went down
  8. You're really enjoying yourself this morning huh?
  9. Nooo... you have to see it through Although tbf we'll know what your prediction was anyway I suppose.
  10. ewerk as fallen away something terrible here... beneath the Fish now
  11. I reckon it was the Fish tbh. Some classic projection going on in his last post.
  12. Surely it would have been creepier if I had watched him in silence...? Rather than acknowledging that having done so would be creepy.
  13. Honestly I'm just basing it on how risk averse Charnley is. I could see him incompetently enabling something like this, but I can't see him wittingly taking the actions required to screw over HMRC. Although I could see Llambias doing that in fairness.
  14. If it's a loophole it won't be illegal though, will it? And I just can't see the club risking this level of scrutiny in pursuit of something genuinely illegal. I could see them going along with another club doing it at their end though, thinking that we'd be immune to any action.
  15. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/apr/25/brazil-goalkeeper-bruno-fernandes-de-souza-prison-guilty Bruno, the Brazilian goalkeeper who murdered his ex and was released a few weeks ago, 5 years into a 22 year sentence, on a technicality - has been sent back to jail. Because Brazil presumably took a long, hard look at itself, and decided that no, this wasn't an acceptable course of action for a civilised country.
  16. He could play in the lower leagues if he manages to keep himself fit for 18 months, but realistically, at his age, why would he bother? He said himself that he's going to have to retire.
  17. Was a good fucking strategy tbh. Could still win it too given that we're not exactly free scoring atm.
  18. Just looking at the PL table this year, West Brom are 8th on 44 points and are 14 points adrift of Everton in 7th. We should have no trouble next year given that this effectively means that there are about 12 teams in the division all just about shit enough to go down if they aren't careful. I remember being surprised at how well West Brom were doing earlier in the season, but it's now apparent that they're operating at their usual level, and that the division is just terrible.
  19. I think everyone knows that they're down. Even Moyes will. They had to beat Boro for any chance of revival and even then it would have taken a miracle.
  20. Well I think Caroline Lucas' voice is important, so I'm pleased. Doubtless she'll win that seat with some comfort.
  21. If it turns out that the real culprit here is Marseille, as seems likely considering that both English clubs have been dealing with them, then this will surely be nothing more than a slap on the wrist. They have to punish West Ham as hard as us for one thing, and I doubt the FA is going to want to issue points deductions to two well supported clubs. It'd make next season a complete farce. I think the biggest annoyance is what ewerk mentioned about the takeover though - no one will buy us while this is going on.
