Humankind's race to the bottom it seems.
-
I suppose if you've spent your entire career building up to being PM, it's hard to just let it go.
-
I figured it would also be the fear of another election. If they have a minority government, and their leader resigns, surely they basically have to call another election.
-
I think they've sensed that it's becoming a political issue so are standing on the side that doesn't lead to Corbyn. That's being generous to them. Otherwise we're talking about thousands of up votes for people stating that these individuals were very fortunate to have been living at the expense of the tax payer and should be grateful for whatever homes they end up in. That people would not have been rioting during the blitz, etc. Just a poor showing for human decency, as ever.
-
Well, the Daily Mail crowd are coming up with comments that are too heartless for me to repeat, so I would say that May has some support in certain places. The issue appears to be becoming politicised.
-
May is absolutely hopeless at leading the country it seems. And no, hadn't seen that. I assumed that the government had actually acted properly following all of this.
-
What exactly is it that people think rioting will achieve at this point? The whole thing is tragic but we're after the fact now and May does appear to be putting money aside for it. Obviously there are failings leading up to this, but no one can change those now.

It was, see how I picked up on it? I'd say that's an endorsement of my position

Argos bloke. You mean Sargon? I don't know if he has but tbh, I stopped watching him once he threw in with the Tories at the GE, so who knows.
-
You don't think it's fairly self evident?
-
Yeah but it's quicker, innit Is it not?

Has it been noted that the Sun had a journalist pass himself off as a victim's friend in order to get into the hospital to interview him? Normal classy behaviour from them.
-
They do it through TV and computer screens

It means how the public perceive a particular event or scenario.

How is it not a word...

You're not wrong on the optics element. Highly contentious to go into an election with a view of paying MPs more money. Although if they did it with a 'no moonlighting' clause, that would be more palatable.
-
While I totally get your point, these are people who could probably earn more outside of politics if they wanted (see Osborne and Johnson). They should be above it but they aren't.
-
It's in the region of £70-80k I think. But then I think they get more for actual ministerial positions. It's weird though, because the chief exec of Newcastle City Council earns more than the PM.
-
I see. Highly credible stuff.
-
Where is this news even coming from... I can't see it being reported anywhere.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/apr/22/lib-dems-no-coalition-tim-farron-general-election "Lib Dems won't make coalition deals"

Why in hell would the Lib Dems be considering that... Just why.
