Surely by the same contention though, the Tories mandate (and likely their ability) to do absolutely anything constructive about Brexit just died a death.
-
I can't imagine her sticking to that.
-
May staying on is the ideal scenario... I think. She'll carry the damaged credibility of the Tories with her and lower the risk of a Tory revival in another election.

He said he wouldn't. He would welcome everyone back with open arms and hugs, I think he said

The Blairites starting to call for peace: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/jun/09/wrong-about-jeremy-corbyn-labour-seats-party-unite The battle for Labour's soul may have been won.

Gloom and CT seem to think their position won't be tenable but yes. I suspect they're going to be a very weak government though.
-
I'm prepared to believe that there is no low to which the Tories will not sink.
-
Good question. I think, horrifyingly, Farage might try to waltz into the Tory party. Not a soft Brexiter obviously, but he seems keen to get involved again now.
-
The variance between them came down to how likely they thought the youth vote was to come out. This is why Momentum and probably also social media, have been game changers. They got young people out in force, by the looks of things.
-
Absolutely agree there. 12 seats off the Tories (the number they took from the SNP) would have countered the influence the DUP will have.
-
The Daily Mail is furious. Their comment sections are a joy to behold Most of them think they've just lost Brexit.
-
Agreed, but the Lib Dems need to learn this lesson hard enough that they're still shit scared of making the same mistake 50 years into the future.
-
There it is - hung parliament. Job well done
-
It also absolutely has to be pointed out that this was a blow struck against the Neoliberalist elites, and the willing MSM who perpetuate their narratives. The establishment centre continues to fail to understand what is going on, and, hopefully, will now wake the fuck up. Sorry, had to.
-
Clegg lost his seat - probably the biggest name of the night to go. The SNP have royally fucked everything up in Scotland. The Tories have 11 seats there ffs. Corbyn turns out to have been pretty good. Theresa May is in big trouble.
-
Oh hey, I'm happy - maybe the fact I've been up all night is masking that But we now have to think about the next step and how things will develop from here. It's a long term challenge rather than a short term one. But yes, if nothing else this will ensure that Corbyn's ideas are not considered 'far left', that the PLP are forced to accept that they have to work with such policies, and maybe, that we can start bringing Labour back together again.
-
Can we persuade the young to turn out again in such big numbers I wonder...
-
I fucking hate the Tories mind. Aside from all their policies, the amount of utter shit they've put us through over the past two years beggars belief.
-
The second referendum would be the dream scenario. You never know, but I don't think we're that lucky. Even if Farage himself now thinks it's on the cards.
-
How They don't have the numbers man.
-
Cooper over the line...
-
John Woodock refusing to acknowledge what's right in front of him. The party did well because it offered hope you fuckwit.
-
The Tories will form a government with the DUP mate, that side of the whole thing is over. If we've kept them back from a majority then Corbyn has been a success (although until that literally happens, I'm not going to count my chickens).
-
I don't disagree with that - and in fairness I never expected a win or anything of the sort from this. It was always the next election that I hoped we'd take. Maybe this is the best scenario all round though. Tories hobbled, May weakened but not terminally, and they still have to resolve Brexit.

Looks like it's the SNP who have cost us everything here.
