God I'm so offended...

I don't think Corbyn would become PM if this falls through. The Tories could manage without the DUP, and would probably continue to do so. They'd collapse at some point though.
-
When did you delete us?
-
Yeah but it'd suit the Tories less than the DUP. Still though, you're probably right.
-
How long is it going to take them to form this fucking administration? They're supposed to be announcing it tomorrow aren't they - Do the DUP know that? Is anyone in control at the moment, whatsoever
-
It would give us the absolute definition of a Tory society. We'll be giving tax breaks to the super rich in order to persuade them to stay, and will have to cut the state back to previously inconceivable levels. So I can see the appeal on that side. However, the Tories must know that doing this would involve making themselves unelectable for a generation - so I'm hoping that when it comes down to it, they end up with such a bad deal that they have no choice but to go back to the country and ask us to confirm that this is really what we want to do. To that end, I hope the EU give us the worst deal imaginable.

I don't even think pulling out of the ME will make much difference now that we're dealing with homegrown problems. The only way to win this is culturally, and involves the neutering of Islam and conversion of it into what Christianity is today - a benign force and cultural throwback. But by the time we do that, we'll have other political terrorists on our hands. I'd imagine probably economically motivated ones.
-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_Islam It's both what you say, and a political ideology.
-
Ay, as CT says, all the above means is that she's conceded to the EU's view on the order in which things have to happen. Not sure it's a Tory strategy at all - more an indication of how far over the barrel we've been bent already.
-
I can't help but think they've got something on her. As in, if she goes now, they'll make sure her name carries the can for all the hell that follows. Unfortunately, that's why we need to be unforgiving and relentless in the criticism of her. Until she goes.
-
The politicians are out in force for this one - Corbyn tbf because this is his constituency; May presumably because she'd be hammered otherwise.
-
Wonder if we're reaching a boiling point with all this, or if it'll burn out... The last few weeks have been crazy.
-
Humankind's race to the bottom it seems.
-
I suppose if you've spent your entire career building up to being PM, it's hard to just let it go.
-
I figured it would also be the fear of another election. If they have a minority government, and their leader resigns, surely they basically have to call another election.
-
I think they've sensed that it's becoming a political issue so are standing on the side that doesn't lead to Corbyn. That's being generous to them. Otherwise we're talking about thousands of up votes for people stating that these individuals were very fortunate to have been living at the expense of the tax payer and should be grateful for whatever homes they end up in. That people would not have been rioting during the blitz, etc. Just a poor showing for human decency, as ever.
-
Well, the Daily Mail crowd are coming up with comments that are too heartless for me to repeat, so I would say that May has some support in certain places. The issue appears to be becoming politicised.
-
May is absolutely hopeless at leading the country it seems. And no, hadn't seen that. I assumed that the government had actually acted properly following all of this.
-
What exactly is it that people think rioting will achieve at this point? The whole thing is tragic but we're after the fact now and May does appear to be putting money aside for it. Obviously there are failings leading up to this, but no one can change those now.
-
It was, see how I picked up on it? I'd say that's an endorsement of my position
-
Argos bloke. You mean Sargon? I don't know if he has but tbh, I stopped watching him once he threw in with the Tories at the GE, so who knows.
-
You don't think it's fairly self evident?
-
Yeah but it's quicker, innit Is it not?
