  1. It did? ( We should probably have a poker thread for this mind )
  2. Doesn't sound any more boring than sitting at work doing emails tbh...
  3. We all know why these two things are the way they are, but I won't say it.
  4. What is actually quite interesting about your issue here is that those posts are a clear 8 minutes apart. It's not like the internet connection is wobbling and submitting it multiple times. Not unless you're currently experiencing rolling 10 minute outages
  5. I dislike (but don't hate) Spurs because I genuinely think they were similarly positioned to us a few years ago. I would have included Liverpool in that bracket as well, except that they at least had a wealth of relatively recent successes to fall back on to support their progress as a club. Spurs have fuck all, same as us. I'm kind of annoyed that they managed to step up and compete from a position of being no marks in our shadow. At least we tend to give them a proper whopping every few years. Not too arsed about Man United either. Had a strong dislike for Liverpool but I've softened now that we have Rafa for some reason.
  6. You've nailed it there mind. As much as I'm probably going to get my money's worth out of this game, there's no real 'end goal' here. You level up, to complete higher grade missions, in order to get better stuff, in order to level up to higher grade missions. Very circular. With Rocket League, the only thing that's changing is your base skill. You don't get better cars, gear, or anything that gives you an advantage. You just get better. And the game rewards you for it by acknowledging your level in competitive rankings and ESL tournaments with actual prize money etc at the end. I suppose Destiny could do this through the PVP route, but that aside, I think the motivating factor for me would be if they expand the story well - so that I want to play the harder levels in order to know what happens. And I don't think I'm quite that invested in it tbh...? The narrative that is. I'm fully enjoying it all in all, but I do suspect I'll get to a point where I'll just think it's pointless going further.
  7. This is why we have Steam. A single system that runs most of the games.
  8. Always knew he was a spambot tbf.
  9. Lemme guess your next post: "Big lump of a centre half that is tailor made for a career outside the top flight."
  10. Still not bad though. Nvidea 960 was supposed to be 'serviceable' at the time, so I got the 970 to give me some longevity. As I say though, graphics in AAA titles don't seem to be pushing the envelope in the way they once did, so I think you'll find you can run basically everything even if you have to tweak the settings a bit.
  11. Here's where Ant will come in and pwn us with his Nvidea Titan something or other...
  12. Mine was £1500 all told, but I had it custom built by someone who knew what they were doing, so the price was lower than buying pre-built. Graphics card is Nvidia970 which I always thought was decent. I coulda gone higher I guess but I genuinely haven't needed to turn graphics down in any game I've played, so I think it was a good choice.
  13. Aye, I don't think graphics tech is pushing on fast enough to warrant upgrading more than once every 5 years or so anyway, so I'd say you're still fine if you've brought the graphics card into line. At some point you need to tell me about your poker stuff like, it's always sounded very interesting. Maybe next time we're hooked up on PS4.
  14. Ah that does makes sense tbh. I spent £1000+ on my PC in 2014 and found spending that much on anything that wasn't a house or a car to be really disconcerting. If I'd had an electric guitar addiction to feed as well, I doubt I'd have bothered.
  15. Agreed with respect of the culture, but the games are just so much more responsive... I'm in the top 2% of players in the world on Rocket League on the PC, and the bottom 0.00001% on the PS4 @adios have you seen enough in here yet to convince you to get this? I need people who have the PS4 version for raiding
  16. It's not actually, though it has an array of cooling features. The reality is that the current gaming generation isn't pushing it to the point where the fan even needs to run, so... I assume that this is because it's fucking awesome, but it could well be that the fan is broken and it's melting through the floor as I type this.
  17. I have a gaming PC, you're all peasants to me. My PS4 is just for my 'man of the people' image
  18. Tbh I'm not even that arsed about Palace going down. I'd take it happily, but they're not interesting enough to want relegated. It's mostly just amusing that they've set a record for failing to score that quite possibly could be continued for another 3 games at the least. The sort of record that will stand for centuries IMO
  19. True actually, can't recall ever seeing a decent conversation on there. In fact, most passable conversations seem to have involved Quiff or Fish recently That said, I think they'd be better compared with NO than TT. Is NO like that?
  20. Aye but you have to factor in that the PS4 will have needed to download its own update, install that, re-run the game, the file will corrupt, it'll need to download again, then install - then you've got the game's loading screens to work past. If it's anything like battlefield one, with 16 days having now past, I would imagine Tom has just been loaded into his first deathmatch. Assuming he hasn't slept and has been totally attentive, that is.
  21. I know what you mean, and will probably wholeheartedly agree with you if things take a turn for the worst, but as it stands were doing well and picking up points (admittedly with little real pressure). If we can keep that up, we'll make any problems we encounter later in the season less significant. If we can just get to January without the wheels coming off...
  22. Aye, true enough. I have a lot of time for Lascelles, and he'll benefit enormously in terms of his self belief if he's able to guide us through a high pressure scenario as the season goes on (not that I want one!) They're young, but the more they experience now, the better they'll be. They've experienced winning and the pressure of staying at the top with last season, and now they'll have a different experience from this season. Either way though, it's nice to be able to believe in them.
  23. It might well do, but as long as we stay up, it's probably a good thing for them to experience.
  24. Yeah it's annoying that we could well be the first team to drop points against them. They'll either be shot for confidence, in which case they're an easy 3 points, or they'll be fucking desperate and playing like it's a cup final. We all know which it'll be... See also: Derby County.
