  1. I get what you're saying but we must have wiped 30 times the other night before we gave up
  2. It doesn't matter at all if we're complacent. We just have to call it as we see it The only way our 'complacency' could be a problem is if you happened to be someone who frequently visited message boards for other teams, in the hope of initiating dialogue, and found yourself hamstrung by association with the delusional bunch of tossers back on TT
  3. Aye the communication element is a bit of a challenge actually. Our clan is setting regular time stamps for particular activities. For instance, we agreed raids will be done on Sundays. They're also designating 'specialists' for particular activities with a view to supporting less experienced clan members. So we have trials specialists, raid specialists, and nightfall specialists - and these people agree to put some time aside to help people each week. It's kinda bizarre in some senses, but also promising to see a community make a real effort.
  4. Everyone is going to assume they'll beat us this season It's why we'll do so well.
  5. Aye that's true. There should be some stuff for that somewhere though. Even as a Titan I got a pair of exotic boots that increased my jump boost ability. Did you find a raiding party yet?
  6. I'm gonna have to try that nightfall again over the weekend. Stuck on 285 now, I need the drop from it. Especially given that the raid just looks like it'll drag on.
  7. The only way I see Brighton getting something is if they've 1) added someone awesome to their team over the summer that has just passed me by or 2) Hughton learns from previous mistakes in playing against us and looks to stifle us while snatching a goal (i.e. our own approach) Even if they do the latter, we're better drilled at it than they are.
  8. So you not only banned leazes, you phased the whole forum out of existence as far as he was concerned That is brilliant.
  9. Comfortable win IMO. Brighton will try to play a positive game, and we'll frustrate them, ultimately easing them out in the end. Same as last year.
  10. I'll give it another try I guess, maybe try and be a bit more forceful with my teammates. Did you find you had to kill every enemy in the first section, or could you just fly straight through?
  11. I wonder if we'll ever learn why this happens.
  12. Cautionary point with the teaching abroad thing though - it becomes harder to qualify for those positions once you're over 30 years old. If it's something you're interested in, I would look into the programs for specific countries you might want to move to now, just to make sure that the door will still be open to you when you're done with the course. If they cut off at a certain point, you're probably better off just jumping in for it now. I taught English abroad as part of my year in China, but I did it illegally Decent fucking money!
  13. It's the sneaking past the dog things and having to have certain members of your team act as your eyes that's fucking mental in this one 3 hours and we just couldn't do it.
  14. Yeah we got the time boosts. In part I think I held back a bit too much with the clan guys I was with because they're more established in the group than I am - and their decisions weren't great. For instance, I was told under no circumstances to use any pikes on this run - and I didn't the first time. The second time I got a heavy pike for the tank bit and literally solo'd it while they were pinned down by run of the mill fallen somewhere further back. The main thing that killed us was the room where you have to let the ghost hack that terminal. They just would not stay in the ring, and so it charged up really slowly. I think that's what did for us anyway.
  15. Aye but what if the loss of the £16k there means they can't afford their move? Obviously get that it's frustrating - very similar thing happened to us earlier this year as well. Agreed a fee to buy and the bank came back and said it was worth £30k less. We went back with a new offer but he wouldn't take it. At the time you're thinking that they're not going to get a better offer than that if the banks are consistent, but they're not. Have you considered asking a different bank to take a look?
  16. Assuming you have the £27k or so it'll cost to do this over three years (unless you take Alex's option which may be cheaper), what do you think university will give you that quitting your job, keeping yourself afloat for a year or so, and simply starting to write things, won't? Do you want to write, or are you thinking of going into marketing or perhaps journalism? I can absolutely see the benefit for the latter two, but not so much for the former. Having said that, I appreciate you're not looking for a critique of your actual decision - with respect of being a mature student, it can be tedious with all the young ones around getting bladdered every evening, but you'll probably find you outstrip most of them anyway just through diligence. I absolutely do think it was rewarding when I did it, and helped me to re-frame the way I was looking at my life up to that point. I'm tempted to go back again in future, if the circumstances are right, which is likely a good sign. Learning things can be incredibly satisfying.
  17. It's not quite the same although I was technically a mature student, but I did a masters degree when I was 27 and just had to apply to the institution directly. Didn't go through UCAS. You're gonna get hit with fees though, and the loan arrangement is different as I understand it for mature students. What do you hope to gain from what you're doing though?
  18. Riiiiight. So whatever is wrong with Arsenal fans is apparently contagious then. Londoners man...
  19. Am now 285. Started the raid tonight and Fuck. Me. It's not hard in the conventional sense like, but it's fucking brutal in terms of non-conventional difficulty. Worth a run at though. We spent 3 hours on it tonight and cleared one room.
  20. That sounds useful cos despite what Ant says, it's really hard. We just don't have enough time left by the end. Ant, how much time did you have when you got there?
  21. It's ok, we don't understand why he's on there either.
  22. ...you know that's our Fish, right? He just can't help himself.
