Their wallets. And I'm confused about that last point. I'm not saying the Tories can't stay in government, I'm just saying that May's successor, if it is a Tory government, is going to end up dealing with all kinds of public anger about the fallout from Brexit. Whether it unseats them or not doesn't change the fact that, like May, they'll be a lightning rod for it. Besides, while the public is clearly just as moronic as they were in the 80s, they're not quite as placid now in terms of voicing opinions.

It's the new TV deal that makes him think he can push the price up - I'd say it's more opportunism than anything else. The longer it goes without selling, the more he'll lower the fee though. Wasn't he at £400m with Staveley originally? Now down to £300m. Fully seriously, he must be fucking sick of us. Surely.
-
Yeah I don't know if those are the stakes actually. The one good thing about Corbyn's refusal to step down is that the Tories, for all they may openly laugh at him, privately will be fucking terrified of him actually becoming PM. Forget Brexit, he'll start smashing things they actually care about. So they won't want to lose power while he's waiting in the wings. For all May's successor may be able to distance themselves, it doesn't change the fact that they will be left holding the bag during a period of unprecedented forced decline. The people's anger has to go somewhere. Look at Gordon Brown's experience.

Holy fuck Amazing to think all that came from a small push.
-
It actually doesn't seem fair that May will ultimately walk away from this, at some point, with zero personal consequences beyond the years of her life she has lost by engaging with it at all.
-
They have nowhere else to go. The Tories clearly can't see any way back politically, so they've got to go No Deal once Chequers dies. On that basis, you would hope that they genuinely are preparing for it.
-
Hard to argue with this IMO. Far more damaging to hit his commercial interests.
-
Greek maybe also. I'm actually fascinated how someone from outside of the local area, presumably to the age when they were old enough to be conscripted, could hate Sunderland as much as you seem to.
-
So you aren't British then? Israeli? Korean? Chinese?
-
That is pathetic from May. Well done from Marr though.
-
Well, there is that.

All possibly true, but why would Kenyon associate himself with it. He would need to be in cahoots with Ashley. Not impossible but I don't know why he would be. The consortium thing doesn't sound much different to what Stavely was thinking of truthfully. In fact, if it is a legit move, it may involve a number of the people she was talking to anyway.
-
Possibly. Doesn't sound like something he'd do at all, frankly. In fact it's so unlikely of him that I'm tempted to say it's a good sign.

Truthfully I dont know what needs doing to the stadium other than a paint job. What's wrong with it?
-
Suppose it depends if we're building a new one or just improving the existing one.
-
Upgrading training and stadium rebuilds would be under 10mill surely. Not sure 200+ is needed on players. Agree on the main point but it's not going to be 6 or 700.
-
It wouldn't be the first time.

My point has been that Keegan probably wasn't perfect and people seem to be arguing with it. It's not even like any of this matters though.
-
I just barely remember his name tbh, so no, not really - although given he's in Ashley's camp, it's a fair assumption. I just find the notion that Keegan was somehow perfect in every way to be naive.
-
Keegan certainly doesn't seem to be the kind of person who can handle being lied to in the way that Benitez has though. Otherwise agree, I doubt it all went down entirely as either side is describing it. That said, I'd trust Keegan far, far more on the stuff that they both recount - I imagine the truthful bits about Jimenez's story are the bits on which Kevin hasn't expressed an opinion.
-
Interesting account. Certainly doesn't paint Keegan as favourably as we had assumed.
-
0-0 or a lucky 1-0 either way.
-
You're right. 90% back remain, 86% back a second referendum.

Like fuck are they Like fuck. You've put the tweet forward from a hardcore left winger there incidentally, CT. You and the 'extremists' finding common ground now?
