  1. I don't see the harm in that statement tbh. It is actually probably quite important to Labour that they don't blink first. Someone is going to have to eliminate No Deal, and I can see why they want it to be May. I mean why would Labour want to broadcast either extreme option at this point when they're trying to go for a middle ground. I don't even think it's cowardly, I just think that if this all falls apart into a GE, statements like "we will revoke A50" would come back to bite them.
  2. May considering purging Tories who vote against her. Sounds like the far left entryists have taken hold of the Tories too...
  3. They can't revoke A50 because they will be "betraying" people like you.
  4. Finally, someone understands my opposition to leaving the EU.
  5. Fair point I guess. Still put FOM at the top though.
  6. I think we decided that he wasn't a mackem because he was good humoured about the accusations instead of wildly defensive. Also, as far as I can tell, he isn't supportive of Mike Ashley (the usual giveaway).
  7. Ah I see. I mean sure, but who cares? I don't care. I just want FOM. If the Brexiteers can climb down with their pride intact with this arrangement and I get FOM, I'm prepared to look the other way and pretend it's meaningful.
  8. Why is it pointless? I'm too tired to make sense of it. And yeah I like black themed internet shit
  9. Huh? It's white on black for me. EDIT - Better?
  10. Labour tables plan for close economic relationship with EU This is the alternative Brexit plan tabled by the Labour party for tomorrow’s indicative votes in Parliament. The plan includes: · a comprehensive customs union with the EU, with a U.K. say on future trade deals; · close alignment with the Single Market underpinned by shared institutions and obligations; · dynamic alignment on rights and protections; · commitments on participation in EU agencies and funding programmes, including in areas such as the environment, education, and industrial regulation; and · clear agreements on the detail of future security arrangements, including access to the European Arrest Warrant and vital shared databases. Here Jeremy Corbyn’s statement: The full text of Labour’s motion reads: leave out from “House” to end and add: “requires ministers to: (a) negotiate changes to the draft Withdrawal Agreement and Political Declaration so as to secure: (i) a permanent customs union with the EU; (ii) close alignment with the single market underpinned by shared institutions and obligations; (iii) dynamic alignment on rights and protections; (iv) commitments on participation in EU agencies and funding programmes, including in areas such as the environment, education, and industrial regulation; (v) agreement on the detail of future security arrangements, including access to the European Arrest Warrant and vital shared databases; and (b) introduce primary legislation to give statutory status to the objectives set out in subsection (a).”
  11. Labour backing Norway and 2nd ref..?
  12. Is... is the latter a common occurrence?
  13. He also said it wasn't his final say on the matter though, and if she doesn't she might prorogue parliament and just waste more of everyone's time.
  14. I don't actually think he will stand in the way - mostly because he doesn't need to if ewerk is right.
  15. Which means we're going to get a long extension and soft Brexit. I actually don't think we ever will get that 2nd referendum, not when soft Brexit could reveal itself to be a feasible option. Is there any softer form of Brexit that doesn't include FOM?
  16. So the ERG will capitulate. As will the DUP I'm sure, following another monumental bribe. Is it still enough though? Not all of the ERG will vote for it, many Tory Remainers will vote against, and only a handful of Labour rebels appear to be holding their nerve and voting pro-Brexit.
  17. Could the government not effectively invalidate Letwin by insisting that all 300 who voted against simply don't engage in it?
  18. New contract desire maybe? He's not going to go to a top 6 club and realistically if Rafa stays, we're in no worse position to challenge for 7th as the other 13 teams.
  19. I daresay he's being eviscerated for that
  20. Huh. That actually might work if the government really is prepared to go through with No Deal if it comes to it. So the Tories will close ranks and go full pelt at hoping everyone else blinks first. The one advantage they have is that they retain power. Having said this, if that seems to be the direction of travel, I'd be backing a full no confidence motion in the government - surely enough Remainer Tories would join it.
  21. I like Rondon but is he worth £50m..?
  22. Maybe you both lost...
  23. RTG has always been pretty keen on Brexit with a couple of doomed but valiant exceptions.
  24. While Cameron was PM, there were two people i was very sure i never wanted to see as PM. May and Gove. Clearly the universe hates me.
