Well you hang onto that optimism.

The US needs to learn from this though. The democrats need to put up the most painfully centrist and status quo candidate possible, and then utterly terrify everyone on the left into voting for them. They can use the UK as a case study. Because the same shit is going to happen there. Hope is not allowed, only fear.
-
What have centrists got in the bag as exciting as an overhaul of inequality, 4 day working weeks, and public spending to match European countries. They've got nothing man. The centrists backed austerity even within Labour. The young people have lost the EU and they've lost the dream. Labour are not coming back from this.
-
No. Whatever the Blairites may think, there's a generation of young people who joined and became motivated in no small part due to Corbyn and his vision. As much as Renton hates that word, those guys aren't coming back to vote for bland centrist policies. We're done for the next 10-15 years.
-
Night lads. Don't stay up too late with this shit.
-
Close to suggesting we take it by force quite frankly.
-
Scotland will go, anyone fearful should aim to shift up there. J69 is right, the Tories are going to close off the route to any future dissent. The union is over so it's the only safe bet.
-
I'm wondering if the votes might still overall favour Remain parties though. Impossible demographic split now though.
-
Wooooww... We got fucking obliterated.
-
Labour's internal polling based on canvassing predicts 36.2%. Which, given the high proportion of votes in city areas, means we're probably fucked.
-
Have decided Gloom is right on sterling, sadly. It's been going down all day, presumably in response to turnout. And now it's jumping in the last hour. That has to be a response to some new info and the only thing it can possibly be is a Tory majority.
-
Again, how does anyone know what the results are? Nobody knows unless the exit polls have started leaking info.
-
My bad, didn't check who he was. Nevermind.
-
Just to moderate people's expectations a bit... leave voters are still wrapped in blind devotion to Brexit, nothing has changed there.
-
Aye that's depressing as fuck MF. Would like to see any Tory voters justify their vote against it tbh. Amongst so many other things.
-
I actually went and checked. The bookies have no inside track, no relevant information, nothing to use to help them set bets for elections other than the betting trends themselves. Don't worry about what the bookies are saying.

UK news push alerts skew negative on Labour and positive for Tories https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/dec/12/uk-news-push-alerts-negative-labour-positive-tories?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Copy_to_clipboard There's no MSM. Clearly. If this made it in previously further back then my apologies, but i needed to get the MSM dig in. Sure you understand
-
It concerns me that these small bits of good news are coming from Tory insiders. I reckon they're just getting their vote out. And we'll end up mystefied that they have a 30 seat majority. I mean how would they know the Lib Dems vote has collapsed?
-
I hate the waiting, mostly because i keep looking at the guardian's comment section and hearing that there's a surprise on the cards which honestly, my brain doesn't believe but my heart wants to. I'm pretty sure it's just a bunch of people like us all echo chambering themselves into hope.
-
How do you mean? Any hung parliament is a godsend, but the fewer seats off a majority the Tories are, the better. We need enough votes in parliament to kill Brexit.
-
Voted too. Gonna grab a bottle of something on the way back and wait for the inevitable.
-
The bookies know jack shit.

Who is Phil Wilson. A Tory I hope.. That's the thing with this, I'm not sure what high turnout means here. It might not be great news if it's a collective of super motivated Brexiteers. Corbyn's constituency has had huge numbers as well...
