  1. This is why it's all pointless, in a nutshell. These people don't care. They aren't remotely interested in the truth. They only care about the fact that they've been given license to spout their unrelenting bullshit across the country, and they're not going to give that up.
  2. We didn't either - we outsourced HR to a separate company (which might be worth a look for you guys tbh - it wasn't expensive and they kept us right in terms of the correct processes etc). But if someone is threatening violence, that's gross misconduct. No arguments there.
  3. Jokes aside, that is absolutely a sackable offence - report him to HR or threaten to raise a legal complaint with the company over work safety and he's gone. I once sacked a lad who responded by threatening to punch me and hammering his fist into his open palm like some kind of comic book bully. I had him escorted off the premises with a threat of police action. Daft bastard. Still, emotions run high at times like that so I guess it's forgivable. We had a separate lad who used to mutter about knifing people under his breath and I let him go as well, albeit for a few different reasons (the muttering itself was fairly constant, and without provocation or interaction with anyone else - needless to say it was alarming colleagues). I got one of the other managers to sit in on that sacking with me Tbf he took it better than the other lad, was no trouble at all.
  4. Aye it is. At what point do we get to say that this is just standard for the BBC? This is how state owned broadcasters the world over operate, why should ours be any different?
  5. I reckon Bloomberg could run him close too. Fight fire with fire, etc. I just think, unfortunately, that Bloomberg is an asshat.
  6. Warren was meant to win NH. She failed and came third. It's hard to see how she comes back really unless Bernie actually pulls out or the centrists rally around her in desperation. But frankly, they'd pick one of their own for that.
  7. How was that a deflection? I answered what you said directly with about as much detail as I felt it warranted - 'he doesn't look it'. If you want to go on to explain to me how the American public are ok with Trump being a borderline dementia patient but yet would be up in arms about Sanders having a heart attack then go for it, but personally I don't think it's a hugely relevant argument. They are going to lose no matter who gets it because the left and the centre will destroy each other in the same way they did under Corbyn. As such, I'm just going to enjoy watching the fireworks.
  8. Ignore her. People like her think that drug addicts were once happy and fulfilled people who just woke up one day and decided to start a heroine addiction. And moreover, apparently she thinks they should just starve to death. We'd be better off entirely if people like her starved instead.
  9. Well, he didn't look it. And let's be fair, Bloomberg is a Republican masquerading as a Democrat. He actually was a Republican during the Bush era. He's also apparently homophobic, sexist, racist and all the other usual things, so quite how many of the young and woke are going to vote for him even if he does get the nomination is really not as clear to me as it is to others. All he has is money.
  10. So this isn't going so well for Bloomberg he was destroyed in the Nevada debates. The only thing he has going for him is money. And yeah maybe that's enough but he's so devoid of substance that I really hope it's not. Sanders does not look 78. Or ill.
  11. If any of those can be gained by acts of disruption against the government then tbh, that's a win-win.
  12. In all seriousness I probably have to give that some actual consideration. And I guess maybe conclude that it just won't work out. I'm not sure yet anyway. I'll complain profusely if i have to, dont worry.
  13. I'm in a couple of Labour Member supporter groups on facebook, a few thousand people in each. Not totally representative of course but honestly, no one is talking about Nandy. It's all the Corbyn cultists calling for RLB and Burgon, or the moderates demanding and defending Starmer. She's going to have to really do something to capture people's imagination to break through this.
  14. I kind of admire that you haven't given up on everything just being one long waterfall of shite for the rest of our lives, but does any of this matter anymore? They won, they won completely, and there's nothing that gives any real indication that anything will change in terms of the demographics of stupidity. We won't win either way. In the long haul, the Tory strategy is probably right - fear is stronger than hope.
  15. More of that and she might win my vote.
  16. I'm with Renton on this. I don't think we can rely on people who have been avoiding rational thought for the past few years, to suddenly embrace it. It'll be like a frog boiling alive, they won't see the damage because it'll go slowly enough. More importantly, they will resist admitting they were wrong until their dying breaths.
  17. Just thinking this over, I'm going to have to marry my current girlfriend if i want that relationship to go anywhere. I oppose marriage as an institution, but I guess my principles have to take a back seat. Or I move myself to Ireland and try to make a life work there..? This is such a mess.
  18. Well that's great. How long is it going to take us to unpick the damage from this ffs. How many years is my vote going to be wasted as it goes towards any party that seeks to restore FOM? The Tories really are trying to deliver for their voters though. They've recognised the xenophobia angle and have gone in on it hard.
  19. Holy hell that was painful. But I think we can all agree that johnsonnstands resolutely behind everything that advisor stood for. Why else would he send out a peon with the specific instruction to neither confirm or deny?
  20. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2020/feb/17/trumps-chief-of-staff-to-meet-cummings-for-huawei-5g-talks Cummings will be negotiating for our country over the Huawei problem with respect of the US.
  21. I mean, that's not exactly ok - the guy going up to him and complaining at him. It's not like they've gone out of their way to lose that game. Not surprised he's reacted badly tbh.
  22. As an aside, I'm sick to death of following a club that I half want to be relegated for its own good.
  23. Still think going down and staying down might be our only way out from under Ashley in the end. As a result I've had mixed feelings about Bruce's results this season. Can't deny it's enjoyable to win, but at the same time if we don't go down we're just putting off Ashley leaving for another season (assuming I'm right, which I may very well not be).
  24. I think we'll hold them fairly well and lose only 1 or 2-0. If we get anything at all, it'll be a 0-0.
