Hopefully us, after a 5-0 slaying of Man Utd.

If this club is ever going to achieve anything, there has to be a moment when we start winning games like this. And by 'games like this' I mean situations where we are the better team but can't climb the psychological mountain that is required to beat a team like Man Utd when we need to. The ability to visualise ourselves as 'better'. As winners. The club has, IMO, always struggled with this in the entire time I've known it. One day we have to shake that off, we have to leap into the game confident that we are better, that we are deserving, and that we will win. I don't know if tomorrow is the day we do that, but it is an opportunity.

https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/social-media/elon-musk-accused-censoring-laura-loomer-maga-republicans-x-rcna185569 Musk now censoring conservatives who disagree with him on immigration Free speech my left bollock, he's a fucking child and always, always has been. I really don't think he's hanging around long.

I came across a couple of interesting charts concerning the priorities of British people - this first one considers the ideologies that British people most associate themselves with. Which is IMO leaning towards being progressive. I am not seeing this 'small c conservative' trend in this data. Conservatism polls behind even Socialism here. This makes me think that the problem isn't that the country is right wing, it's that the country is confused, misinformed, and that individuals have personal insecurities which the right preys upon to manipulate them. I can't for the life of me see how to add an image to this post to actually share it but the link to the charts and data is here: https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/51086-which-political-ideologies-do-britons-have-a-positive-view-of The second interesting chart is how voters for particular political parties view each ideology. It's more or less what you'd expect (21% of conservatives oppose conservatism though) but does show the areas in which we've been particularly successful even on the right leaning parties. 35% of reform would self define as environmentalists. 30% as feminists. It's not a majority, but it's a significant minority. It just makes me think if we can get the messaging right, we can speak to people while addressing more of these concerns. The only thing this doesn't really tell us about is immigration which I reckon is distorting a lot of people into positions they might not otherwise take up. Would the 30% of reform voters who see themselves as feminists be in reform if immigration wasn't an issue?

Aye - Elon is blatantly only in this for popularity too, so it will absolutely be bothering him that he's losing ground there.
-
Aye not disputing any of that at all - or the wisdom of selling him. Was really just trying to say that I think looking at the squad and the wholesale development of it by Howe, it may well have been that he'd have been a damn sight better here than he would be elsewhere.
-
Do wanna say mind, Howe might well have turned him into a better player than whoever manages Brighton.

Rents mate, can only echo what the others have said. Please do take steps to ensure you have the support you need. We're all right behind you in this, you'll get to the other side in the end. You're a great guy mate, keep going.

Isak is similar - it's good to see players standing up for each other like that, like they really do care about their teammates. All in it together.
-
Their forums were a funny read tbh, They absolutely hate playing us. Several suggesting they should forfeit this fixture each year to save against injuries and suspensions since they only get walloped either way.
-
Gonna go 3-1 to us. I don't see any reason we can't win this other than that historical Man Utd would beat us.
-
Amazing result this. Villa turning up as our gimp team once again.
-
Fucking brilliant

Get the fuck in!!!!

Well said that man..!

Merry Christmas lads - as ever, much love

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

I do think people are being a bit hard on the lads - it feels like a switch has flipped for me since Liverpool, we're playing better for sure. Think if we get a result against Villa then people might start to risk having a bit of faith. -
Motherfucker just needs to own it. "Yeah I play suicideball, but we're doing ok all things considered. Entertaining amirite?"
-
Good for us though, they're gonna win the league easy - may as well hammer everyone we might compete with on the way.
-
We can -definitely- beat that shower of shit.
-
I was trying to remember what on earth went on against West Ham a few mins ago... do they count?
-
I reckon we win this - aye we've played some dross but we do look much better and I don't think that Liverpool game was just a fluke. We get a result here then go to Old Trafford with heads high, then I really think we can start to kick on into second half of the season. I'll go 2-0 as well.

If you can deliver a result against Villa, I might even start thinking we can get somewhere this season...
