  1. I think they might be right with that claim though. But for a few miles, we could all be mackems. Lucky escape indeed.
  2. You'd have to hope we'd get a few mill for him though... do US clubs pay that sort of money these days? Not that I'm sure how much he'd be worth.. £10-15m?
  3. I think removing assault rifles would be a significant first step at least - I assume that would reduce the mass shootings. It's not like the constitution was even set up with such weapons in mind.
  4. @Gemmill Actually just dawned on me - you could try Civilisation 6. That can be played co-op, it's turn based so she won't need to be fast and can take her time, has some depth to it but can be played at quite a light level also. And the political system lets you choose fascism as a government type, so it's also educational as to the future of Western civilisation
  5. Is Rodri the best player in the world right now? I can sort of see some argument based on CL victory and how shite they've been without him but... idk.
  6. I also think that if Bruno Fernandes is in there at 60 something, our Bruno should be a good 20 places higher than him. It's also worth reading Isak's little bio thing, written by Louise Taylor One part talking about how good he is, 3 parts trying to sell him to Chelsea and talking about how his head has been turned.
  7. Fuck sake. Is it getting worse or is this just an unhappy standard now? I can't tell anymore and I suspect the media gatekeep the whole consideration anyway.
  8. Bloons. Stardew Valley. Factorio if she's a bit nerdier. Not sure if they're on X Box mind but bloons is basically everywhere, think you can even get it through Netflix. See, I'm waaaaay ahead of you on the whole 'coping with our dystopian future by playing co-op games with the missus' front.
  9. Kek is Gen Z slang for 'lol'. That is a beyond moronic name to take even so.
  10. Not sure if this was brought up a few days ago or not but did anyone notice the Guardian did their player rankings for 2024 and had Isak at 90th? Behind, amongst others, Havertz, Walker and Cucurella. Meanwhile Harry Kane is 6th best in the world because ofc. Salah only made 11th.
  11. It is on Amorim though - he left his midfield woefully exposed and we eviscerated them. They were much more robust once he stuck Mainoo on which does sort of mean that it's kind of on him for not starting that way. I don't know why he thought he would get away with the lineup he had, but that is 100% on him from their point of view. We likely would have won anyway, but nowhere near as easily.
  12. Beautifully done - very professional. We beat Man Utd when we needed to.
  13. Also, can someone tell me what "style" Amorim is meant to be having them playing here? Deer In Headlights style? Lemming Style?
  14. They looked better with the extra body in midfield. Fortunately it's costing them scoring ability, but nonetheless I think we need to settle ourselves down a bit now. Need to be extremely professional and keep them on the back foot whilst not overcommitting.
  15. Hopefully us, after a 5-0 slaying of Man Utd.
  16. If this club is ever going to achieve anything, there has to be a moment when we start winning games like this. And by 'games like this' I mean situations where we are the better team but can't climb the psychological mountain that is required to beat a team like Man Utd when we need to. The ability to visualise ourselves as 'better'. As winners. The club has, IMO, always struggled with this in the entire time I've known it. One day we have to shake that off, we have to leap into the game confident that we are better, that we are deserving, and that we will win. I don't know if tomorrow is the day we do that, but it is an opportunity.
  17. https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/social-media/elon-musk-accused-censoring-laura-loomer-maga-republicans-x-rcna185569 Musk now censoring conservatives who disagree with him on immigration Free speech my left bollock, he's a fucking child and always, always has been. I really don't think he's hanging around long.
  18. I came across a couple of interesting charts concerning the priorities of British people - this first one considers the ideologies that British people most associate themselves with. Which is IMO leaning towards being progressive. I am not seeing this 'small c conservative' trend in this data. Conservatism polls behind even Socialism here. This makes me think that the problem isn't that the country is right wing, it's that the country is confused, misinformed, and that individuals have personal insecurities which the right preys upon to manipulate them. I can't for the life of me see how to add an image to this post to actually share it but the link to the charts and data is here: https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/51086-which-political-ideologies-do-britons-have-a-positive-view-of The second interesting chart is how voters for particular political parties view each ideology. It's more or less what you'd expect (21% of conservatives oppose conservatism though) but does show the areas in which we've been particularly successful even on the right leaning parties. 35% of reform would self define as environmentalists. 30% as feminists. It's not a majority, but it's a significant minority. It just makes me think if we can get the messaging right, we can speak to people while addressing more of these concerns. The only thing this doesn't really tell us about is immigration which I reckon is distorting a lot of people into positions they might not otherwise take up. Would the 30% of reform voters who see themselves as feminists be in reform if immigration wasn't an issue?
  19. Aye - Elon is blatantly only in this for popularity too, so it will absolutely be bothering him that he's losing ground there.
  20. Aye not disputing any of that at all - or the wisdom of selling him. Was really just trying to say that I think looking at the squad and the wholesale development of it by Howe, it may well have been that he'd have been a damn sight better here than he would be elsewhere.
  21. Do wanna say mind, Howe might well have turned him into a better player than whoever manages Brighton.
  22. Rents mate, can only echo what the others have said. Please do take steps to ensure you have the support you need. We're all right behind you in this, you'll get to the other side in the end. You're a great guy mate, keep going.
