Golfmag on n-o reckons it'll be internal.

Do not want Steve Bruce. I've seen enough of hill Hull team this season to know how bad his is. Literally worse than Pardew as a tactician
-
Oh, shit. I hope to Christ we don't fuck this up.

I don't think Sissoko can work in a 3 unless he is given the most freedom and is played furthest up the pitch. I reckon Pardew is of the same opinion. So I doubt hell play centrally if de Jong comes in at 10.Would like to be proven wrong.

I think there is room for one such player in a starting 11, Tiote is by far the best option we have for the role. The problem is making sure that Tiote, or whoever else is in that role, is complimented with a midfield partner who can influence the game in an attacking sense. Colback does not do that. Also, I've just seen Gouffran's goals and assists for the 33 games he's played this calendar year, zero goals and 2 assists. Pathetic selection/deployment.
-
A central midfielder. He has a range of responsibilities that include both defence and attack. I find him extremely limited in the latter and pretty average for the former, therefore not up to it. Basically, we can't have two players in a double pivot who contribute little to our attacking play. Especially when Gouffran shuts down a wing, but that's a different matter.
-
He isn't a deep lying midfielder. And how are you measuring his passing? Retention is all well and good, but Colback is not capable of driving a team forward with creative and incisive passing. And there's no room for that kind of player in our midfield when we play a deeper player alongside. Just don't rate him, at all. Would rather Danny Guthrie was still around.

Jack Colback 17 appearances, 0 goals and 2 assists. What a player.

I would very much like the King to admit that his huge mistake, the use of a 5-2-1-2, played a significant part in our first half surrender. Especially as he gave up on it at half time, reverting back to his defensive 4-4-1-1, which was how we should have started the game, given our personnel. And fwiw, we got the pressing all wrong. Anyone who had watched Man'U play in the last few weeks will have noticed how their system was susceptible to high pressing of the back line by an overloaded midfield. Their system struggles to build attacking moves because it is deficient in players who will be in the middle third to transition the ball from defence to attack. In that area their team can be easily outnumbered, which coupled with a rigid shape and limited movement means their players often only have one passing option on, which is easily closed down when the opposition manager has his midfield set accordingly. And what did we do? Spread our advanced players thinly across 2/3 lines and have the bulk of our team in defence. That gave the Man'U defenders and midfielders the extra space needed to build attacks and gain territory. Once they had possession in our final the huge advantage of their system kicked in, since they had 3 very attacking minded players capable of slicing through the gaps in our lines. 2 running from high and 1, Rooney, coming from deep. It's not the fact that we played a 5-2-1-2, but that we played the formation in such a way, with such personnel that we did not trouble the Man'U set-up in its weakest area. Our regular system would have worked brilliantly, had we used it in such a way that pressed a little higher up the pitch, with a narrower set midfield. Oh and Gouffran is a new nadir. Fuck Pardew.

Dire. Again. Gouffran continuous to stink.
-
At least we won't miss Cabaye once Sissoko leaves. Although, I'm not sure how we're going to cope without Sissoko.
-
Can't see us winning this without Cabaye. If only Cabaye was available...

David James Graham @DavidJG80 17m17 minutes ago Daryl Janmaat on Radio Newcastle- "perhaps we should have thought more about tactics and less about fighting." Says a lot. #nufc

I wonder what Pardew's excuse will be for not playing him on a weekly basis. Especially as he cannot use his usual excuses about not running around and tackling enough. I am sick to death of Gouffran's involvement. Definitely become the new Jonas. Oh shit, Jonas is back, isn't he? How long until we see Jonas and Gouffran in the same team? My fucking word.

Alan Pardew has now lost his last 4 games against Sunderland. 1 win in our last 6 games. We're back.
