1. Thats the problem with straight edge though. To me and the kids who I knew who were straight edge you wouldnt be if thats all you abstained from. There's the casual sex part and being vegan too. Most people grow out of it though, most of the bands did, the kids who followed them aren't any different. 27547 depends on your definition? if you are reverting back to the very beginning and going off minor threats 'straight edge' then that doesnt mention anything about veganism? to me straight edge is about not altering your state of mind to have a good time. I go clubbing, to the pub etc. 3 or 4 times a week with my mates and have an awesome time without drinks or drugs. I dont feel safe sex has any bearing on that. like i a said in another therad somewhere, when im in a realtionship im monogomous and when im not i practise safe sex. i cant see whats immoral in that. and as for being a kid who will grow out of it, im 23 and havent actively told people 'im straight edge' since i was about 18. im just a guy who doesnt drink. I just thought my avatar was a cool picture. its obviously riling some people for whatever reason. if i couldnt give 2 fucks that you lot drink so why should people care so much that i dont drink? 27589 I couldnt care less if you drink or not, I was just pointing out the reality of the scene. Thats the way it always has been and will be.I dont smoke or do drugs (at the time) but Ive had a drink at shows and you'd think I'd killed someone with one the looks I got. Luckilly Im big enough that you really have to think about having a go, Ive seen other kids get some real shit. The origins of straight edge dont come from Mackaye's song , there were people with them beliefs before he wrote it, it just gave them a label, a name. You might also want to recall the lyrics to 'Out of step' too (i) don't smoke don't drink don't f**k at least i can f**king think i can't keep up i can't keep up i can't keep up out of step with the world Your choices are your choices and fair play to you its not often I get talk about this and I really loved scene at the time. Theres always been the elititst those who abstain from everything then look down on everyone else and then that kind of filters down. I think the general consensus is straight edge means a life without intoxication, which includes casual sex, veganism is a bit more hardcore true.

3. didnt the UK models come with it then?
4. I know I was talking about the games. Its still a grey area with the movies too. I know a couple of people who have had US movies work on their Jap PSP's. They havent tried them all, just the one they bought , each person had a different title though.
5. Ridge racer is superb and possibly still the best game on it. Ive had it since April and still haven't completed everything. Wipeout mmm, Im bias I suppose because Ive never liked the series. Its a poor mans F-Zero as far as Im concerned. One thing I did find out today i that although PSP's are region free it looks like they're maybe an issue with playing multiplayer with different region games. I cant think of any technical reason why but I couldnt play against me mate today (my US copy and his UK one). Of the launch titles I'd definitely pick up Ridge Racer and Lumines. I'd also choose Hots shot (everybody's) golf over tiger woods too (but then I'd choose anything over tiger tbh). World tour soccer is basically last years This is football on PS2, so if you like it get that, I cant stand it meself. Not sure what Toca is like but Im definitely going to be getting Virtua Tennis as it basically the DC game ad that was mint.
6. seems the reports of UK psps having V2 firmware were false then its worth it though. The homebrew stuff isnt quite there yet with only the pcengine emulator being up to scratch, snes emulation for instance is poor. I love the web browser, was posting on toontastic the other day while in the bath. The support for AVC is great and I can now get a full movie down to less than 200MB with that and the quality is still superb. Anyone wanting to know about movie conversion should go to www.pspvideo9.com. Download the software and have a read of the tutorials, its fairly straightforward.

8. the too good to be true cheap ones on ebay are clones from hong kong. You take the risk if you get one. I've always bought 1st party legit memory cards, nearly always anyway, I bought a 3rd party memory for my N64 once and lost all my saves. Never again. I know people who are going to hong kong soon and are planning on buying shit loads of them as they are so cheap over there. Dead pixels go hand in hand with LCD's but the Jap launch of the PSP was really bad for it. Not long after Sony changed the screen supplier and as far as I know its the same screen in the US and the UK models
9. You will not be able to play pirate games on a UK PSP as they are all V2 firmware. You need V1.5 or less to play any homebrew/pirate software. All games are now coming with auto updaters too. I dont know about the screens Jimbo but the initial jap launch had a lot more problems with dead pixels than the subsequent shipments so it might be one trade off against the other. Tbh Ive been less than impressed with the machine so far, I use it as a movie player, it just hasnt got the games that the DS has now and in the immediate future and thats what it comes down to in the end. It takes Pro duo memory sticks whcih are a bit pricey when compared to other emory. If you're going to use it to watch films you need at least 512MB card which you should be able to pick up for around £40 If you are going to get one do not ignore Lumines. Got it at launch and its still my favourite game miles better than any EA*insert year* generic sequel (which no doubt will sell the most), oh and Ridge racers is tops too.
10. definitely. We were adding Shearer to a quality team that looked like having a real chance of winning the title. This time we're buying a player who will likely help us to a midtable finish. My joy for the signing of Owen is tempered by the unease at the way the team is prepared, managed and currently plays.
11. I think people have this romantic view of nobby and that his sale was the beginning of the fall. When he was sold I remember not being particularly bothered as he'd been poor for some time. He's done well in spurts for Villa but he hasnt been the top performer like he was for us at his peak. Saying all that I cant think of a better RM we could get for 1.5 Mill. A wise man once told me though never go back to where you've been before as it can never be as good as the first time round.
12. finally someone else who hates the streets. Middles class lad trying to be all urban, middle class journalists toss off over him and students buy it in droves (I blame NME meself), 1 year later the mainstream buy into it because he's the hottest new thing. He cant rap papa because he isnt a rapper he's a street poet or something.. pfffff Im into allsorts and Ive got plenty of what you'd describe as dance music but Ive never ever understood why anyone would listen to that happ hardcore, gabba banging crap. Its just awful
13. excellent choice sir I haven't listened to that in years but looking round it looks like Ive lost my copy Ive got on Photek - ni ten ichi ryu to be followed by a bit of black science orchestra I think on second thoughts red snapper -reeled and skinned it is
14. Beasties were tops but their getting a bit samey. Aphex twin Unkle
15. Like a lot of us said the best idea would have been to get rid of him in the summer allowing a manger to come in and have a pre season for once. Can anyone in all honesty argue that it wouldnt have been in the best interests of the club to do so? It seems inevitable that Shepherd is going to the repeat old mistake and get rid of Souness during the season. I just cant see him lasting till Christmas.
16. Ive got a little thing for that Steph but I've always felt guilty about it maybe it was the school uniform and whatever happened to this wee lass? Lisa Hunter pah!
17. assistant manager Alan Murray that bit alone makes me want to cry. Assistant manager, he looks more like he should be slumped up against a wall near central station
18. theres only one option really and the voting backs it up. Boumsong
19. You're just blaming Shepherd because it deflects attention away from the blind backing you and others have wrongly given to Souness. 9870 I'm almost as responsible for the current situation as both Souness and Shepherd in some people's eyes. 9876 You're a cancer to the club to be honest 9877 Gemmill out!!
20. sort of right. heat capacity has a lot to do with it but if you shoved a bit of aluminium in the oven the same shape/mass as your grill you'd burn your hand on it the same. Robs more or loss got it with the volume but its down to the relative surface area. Its the same reason why radiators are shaped the way the are. The greater the surface area the greater the heat loss and aluminum foil is basically all surface area so the heat loss is almost instantaneous. Theres other stuff like heat transfer coeficients that come into play but that would be trying to hard to remember the stuff I learnt at uni and Ive spent too much time forgetting that..
21. surely the wrong thread!! Borderline boilers for you my dear
22. Even though Taylor has been great at centre half i`m worried that Souness will play him at left back now and do what you say and play Moore in the middle. 7211 I think Taylor shows flashes of brilliance and utter stupidity. 7214 true. Just got back and apologies if its already been said but if we dont get a left back we are in serious trouble. Elliot was awful, I dont think he made one pass all night. We had no width on the right at all. Most of the time the front 3 were playing within 15 yrds of each other. Why did we play with two defensive midfielders again? Wouldnt it have made more sense to have had Midfield 3 of Bowyer, Parker and Emre with Zoggy and Milner further up field?
23. Anthony strikes me as a bloke who has put it about a bit so to make him pull that face says it all
24. Jap one or US remake? i've seen the jap one and it put the shits up me
