1. Once everyone trys it they're hooked I had a mate who got really into surfing when we were at college. When he couldnt surf he used to just drive to Seaton Carew and stare at the waves. I used to rip it out of him then. Boarding became the same for me, every spare second I could get I was there. Didnt help that the office in Austria had a great view of the mountains though If you are going to give skiing a go you have to really give it more than one day. You'll be just getting to grips with snow ploughing by then I imagine. I'll have to see what the consultant says. I cant see it myself. Ive fucked one disc and a couple of others looked in pretty bad shape. Ive now got some nice metal screws and rods in my bottom two vertebrae and I dont know how theyd react to a nice tumble
2. Seriously? I would always have associated that skater-dude thing with snowboarding, I know a few people who are quite put off by that image, I just thought it would be silly to let it get in the way of something that looked like a good craic! I'm assuming by the fact that you sound like you really miss it, and have done quite a bit of it, that the attraction doesn't wear thin quickly. Have you tried skiing, at all? 108307 Never tried skiing but my mate who does both (and was a skier first) prefers boarding. The good thing with boarding is it takes a relatively short time to get to a half decent level, skiings much more difficult. There is that skater side to it but as for wearing daft hats and being crazy (day glo outfits ?) thats definitely more skiers. Dont let the skater thing put you off though you'll see more people not looking like that than you will. Im more into free ride than tricks and shit too. Me and the mountain. Best time I ever had was in the last week of one season (UK holidays having actually stopped), snow was still great, sun was shining so I was only in a T shirt and we saw 4 people all day, we literally had the mountain to ourselves, salad days. Im going to really miss it
3. Rae and Christian - Northern Sulphuric Soul
4. one of the few things I really love. Lived in Austria for two years and during those winter months it was nothing but pretending to work and then hitting the slopes all afternoon. Im not sure about the kerrazziness. I'd say you get more of those sort into skiing. Probably over now though as Ive recently had an op on my back
5. big up to all my brothers on lockdown aayye
6. thats about all he fuckin did then
7. ffs will they say anything about Crouch's diving. He's not even very good at it the lanky streak of piss flops more than dives
8. its not good enough for anyone, well not now anyway, but constantly going on about it isnt going to change it.
9. maybe not, but believe it or not, some of us enjoyed being in the Champions League and don't take 50m spent to create "a happy dressing room" as compensation enough for it Those who weren't gullible enough to blinded by Souness' lies and bullshit is who I mean 107977 Come on Leazes its time to drop it. I was one of those who continually pointed out how shite Souness was but Bellamys gone , theres nothing we can do about it and theres not that many who actually believe we're better off without him. Its getting a bit boring to see the same thing in every single post you make.
10. Neighbour no 13 - japanese horror (ish). One of the msot horrifically violent films I've seen. Theres not actually that much violence in it either. Story of a man who was bullied at school and now has a split personality with his alter ego dishing out the revenge. Starts off with him being pinned down as a kid and having acid poured on his face, says it all. Let down by the cliche did any of it really happen ending. Hostel - Thought it was shite. Not helped that I watched it after Neighbour no 13 which does it so right. Loads of tits and gore but overall just an awful film. Seven Swords - Hong Kong movie from the guy who made Black Mask. Entertaining enough. Some great sword fight scenes. A Bittersweet Life - Korean gangster flick. A truly outstanding film. Fairly cliche plot but it is superbly directed. I'd put it alongside Old Boy as a showpiece for Korean cinema. Cant recommend it enough. A final shootout to rival Scarface too.
11. Although we're not the best at it its ridiculous to say a 22 year old cant improve his game technically. I can only think of Bellamy in recent times who looked like a player that had worked on and started improving in one of his weaker areas but it obviously can be done. There plenty of players who dont come through till later, not everyone can be a wonderkid. Ian Wright being the most extreme example
12. just watched the highlights on Goals on Sunday. Robbens was as two footed as they come, he actually leaps into it, contact was only with one foot but it doesnt mean it wasnt a two footed challenge. Wallworks was a 50/50 ball that both he and Makelele where stretching for and Makelele got to just before Wallwork, Wallworks momentum takes him through Makelele. Yellow was fair, bad challenge rather than dangerous. Drogba was a fkn disgrace, he actually kicks the West Brom player as his foot follows through after passing it. Its about time FA started using TV evidence for this shit like they do for other things.
13. Aye I enjoyed that first time round, canny ending. 103162 canny ending? Best film ending ever, FACT! Damn You! and just cos its a great line Dirty Ape
14. Munich A History of Violence Shinobi All very good. I'll give Shinobi a special mention as its one that most will never hear of. Kind of Romeo and Juliet meets House of flying daggers with over the top fight scenes and special effects. Not the strongest plot wise but beautifully shot. Based on a manga so its a bit comic book and very fast paced. If you've seen Versus or Azumi you'll know what to expect. A review here, http://search.japantimes.co.jp/print/featu...f20050930a3.htm. Stars the stunning Yukie Nakama too.. got a bit of an asian backlog so Seven Swords, Neighbour No 13, Election and Spring, Summer,Autumn,Fall and Spring next week. Good job Im off sick
15. Aye, it was quite a sight to see him labouring out at SJP every day with that hod of bricks. No, but in all seriousness, I think it was Hall who had the foresight to expand the stadium into what it is today. Without spending a penny I might add. 101770 Definitely Hall. I remember him threatening to move the club to Gateshead when they didnt get planning permission for a new ground. Plan B was the expansion.
16. should send Leazes to Nigeria, "That Mugabe aint that bad, it could be worse, at least he isnt Hitler or Pol Pot. Name me 6 brutal dictators that are better than Mugabe , go on"
17. Pretty much what Craig said....it just smacks of a risky appointment. I, like everyone, have enormous sympathy for him and his wife's personal situation, but I can't help thinking that it's a HUGE risk to appoint him at this stage. I think a statement (leaked or otherwise) from the club regarding Hitzfeld would help, as most of us are still hoping he'll get the job. If he's turned us down, then appointing somebody else is obviously unavoidable....although I can still think of a few other people I'd prefer to get the job over O'Neill. 93129 As LM said, if he feels that he can't take the job because of his wife, he won't. I think he'll snub us tbh 93130 The major concern is that he might say yes as his wife is OK now but what if in 6 months or a years time the cancer comes back. The situation could change very quickly
18. Depends if HTT's writing it... 91763 Did anyone else notice him writing for quite a while in the Hitzfeld thread today, before disappearing without a post? 91768 Have you noticed he's started a Hitzfeld forum over there? Thought it was a 'forum for the people' and all opinions would be dealt with equally? 91809 No, youre taking him at his word. He's actually a lying cunt. 91815 could have left it at just cunt tbh
19. It was rumoured on the 606 forums. If it were true, you'd have seen a lot of money going on Hoddle this morning, which it hasn't. Same happened with Souness IIRC. 91493 Im guessing that a fair bit of cash has went on Hoddle seeing as his odds have dropped dramatically. He was down to 2-1 favourite with ladbrokes at dinnertime
20. A mate from school used to put chocolate spread on his hand and his dog would furiously lick it off. I was very suspicious
21. Its the ones who are sly and nasty but act like whiny bitches when they get a bit back that really boil my piss. Savage Cahill Carvalho Ashley Cole Gilberto .. infact most of the Arsenal team
