  1. No worries mate-and some of what you say is perfectly true. I just think football success is wasted on your club and it's fans if my experience is anything to go by. That's just a personal opinion though; I doubt you subscribe to it and equally nowt you say is likely to affect how I think about it. A Man U fan (I'll not say supporter... because he's not) I know was whingeing on the other week saying "why do I put myself through this each year?" after that kid had scored one of his last minute goals. I could have lamped the fucker. Put yourself through what you spoilt glory hunting little shit? Trophy after trophy since you were ten year old? You've never even stood close to the rack, let alone gone through it. To be fair I do know other Man U fans who know far better than to cry how they're hard done by.
  2. what a goal that was hasnt changed the tie all that much though one barca goal will still be sending them through and chelsea cant rely on wonder goals all night Except for Chelsea being in the lead and heading to the final

You have miss read my comment maybe I should of put it better he was on loan wasnt he until now so you didnt have to sign him. Nah. He was our player. We couldn't send him back after the ruling and pay nowt.
  4. We don't though, like Asprilla says. Newcastle United still have all that debt and more....until Mike Ashley says he'll forfeit it all. The debt is growing at a slower rate than it was though. But then our Premier league status and full houses every week meant we could sustain the debt we had. Without either of those, it's less likely.
  5. On top of the £100M debt that was in place when Ashley bought the club, he's definitely loaned the club a further £10M and claims another £10M on top of that., so we're £20M worse off. At the last official report, the wage bill had also increased from £65m to £70m, with Llambias more recently stating it was up to £76m. The staff has increased from 97 people to 118. The positive effect Ashley has had on the money side is that he doesn't receive any dividends and we pay no interest on our loans anymore. Who'd have thought the Shepherds and Halls really WERE earning those extortionate bonuses?
  6. bit late i know, but that is a ridiculous statement tom. going forwards if we have a zero spend policy what happens when the parachute payments run out at the end of next season (obviously IF we are relegated). I think the bloke that picks the managers and infrastructure should be held fully accountable. I don't think there's anything wrong in Tom's post. I don't see how your response contradicts it either.
  7. Ashley isn't a Trojan Horse sent by Spurs to ruin us. Of course he wants us to succeed, like his other businesses. But this is nothing like any of his other businesses and he's invested heavily in a field in which he's incapable and recruited other people who are incapable on the cheap. The argument that his success in one field precludes him from criticism in another is ridiculous. Robbie Williams deserves kudos for his pop career, but that rap album ruined him.
  8. I don't think the players brought in have been particularly worse than you'd expect. It's Ashley's fault because the money hasn't been made available by him to bring good enough quality in. It's Ashley's fault because he's forced the sale of our best players to cover what crap we have brought in and to cream some off the top. It's Ashley's fault because he bought the club as a play thing with no forethought whatsoever. It's Ashley's fault because he thinks not being a football man is an excuse rather than a stick to beat him with. If he doesn't know the sport, why did he stick his nose in? It's Ashley's fault because he listens to his mates rather than people who know the club. It's Ashley's fault because he's where the buck stops. Robson's talking shite here.
  9. Have you used the time well?
  10. Mascherano covers his eyes as they start to burn
  11. I swear I could see him on Sunday, badges glistening in the sun. If it wasn't him it was another daft fucker (I'm sure there's more than one). Sat close to the Newcastle fans to the right as we faced the pitch.
  12. I've not seen it but Bronson is by the same director.
  13. I reckon we'll win it. Villa are shit.
  14. You got the radioclit mixtape? African bastardisation of Western culture. Good album....and free to boot.
  15. Harper Beye Duff Bassong Coloccini Butt Smith Barton Lovenkrands Martins Viduka Gutierrez Owen Nolan Jose Enrique Guthrie Carroll Ryan Taylor Steven Taylor Edgar Ameobi I can only find 21 though so I might have mis-heard.
  16. He dropped Owen and Nolan for the last game as well doing the same with Coloccini. Tried about 3 different formations at least too. 25 different players used in 5 games I heard.
  17. Just listening to this for the first time now. It was my first time too.
  18. If the players can't accept his professionalism then that's their problem for being typical egotistical, immature footballers and not Shearer's for not getting their respect in my view - he's adopting the correct strategy. Just look at the success of the likes of Ferguson, Clough etc and they are/were hardly walkovers. ... I agree (I'm confused as to why you quoted my piece and then seemed to reply to it as if I hadn't said what I'd said... but then it's late and I've been drinking ) No I was agreeing - didn't point that out so maybe it looked like I was arguing but you can be safe in the knowledge I think you're right. Wasn't your fault, he's just not used to people agreeing with him.
  19. When did it start like? http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=451003 http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=451151 The Bourne Ultimatum has more scenes in Britain than America. Schindler's List?? How can you say that's a yank film?? A film about a Kraut businessman, played by an Irish (technically BRITISH) actor, about helping European Jews to survive. That's like saying Man Utd and Liverpool are American clubs. IMDB wouldn't agree with you. The Bourne Identity is classed as a US/Kraut/Czech production. I'd assumed you were kidding anyway. Seems a particularly strange stance to be making when there's far less US TV exposure over here these days. In the 80's the likes of Dallas, Dynasty, The A-Team and V were not only shite, but they were on UK boxes at prime time and lowering demand for British productions. There's no prime time slots given to any US shows on terrestrial tv these days. That's why The Wire, Generation Kill, The Sopranos, The West Wing and other monumental series of the highest quality are barely known over here. V was good. Luckily on mainstream telly it's not saturated with all that bollocks but Sky and the cable channels....oh dear. How the fuck would you know V was shite, you're about 27 (going on 77 granted)? Almost, I'm getting on for 30. Maybe watching V a few years after it first aired I missed all the timely Regan era political commentary and being 10 or so I didn't take in the clever race relations observations, but if that was the peak of US tv output, I'd probably stop watching too.

  22. He probably said as much, but could tell by the look on Shola's face that he'd best write it down.
