The £100Mil was 'loaned' to the club, it wasn't money invested. So I'll be surprised if he'd just 'write' it off. Can't see it myself. When he put that money in, he was still in his honeymoon period. So basically you're saying that the price of the club has barely dropped at all then? Why would he even attempt that, after failing to do it when the club was in the premiership? He was asking anywhere between £300m and £450m according to reports last year.

No way on earth that he's writing off the £100m. It's £100m sale price and £100m to insta-pay him back the loan. Gerraway- on what basis can he justify £200m when we're going to need a further injection of anything of £50m to £100m in the next two years? Bids should equal roughly what he'd likely get if you liquidated the assets, plus a few quid on top. If he wants his £100m repaid as well then takeover talks will be very brief. There's £120m of loans the club has outstanding to him. He's not writing that off....and he's not going to give the club away in the hope someone gives him the loan money.

Needs sorting so whoever is in charge can get on with the massive amount of work that is needed. If Shearer is being 'wide of the mark' and there's absolutely no way Ashley can accept his demands then surely it'd be in the best interests of all to cut ties and move on to find whoever it is who will be trying to lead us in the championship. They've had a week and surely that's enough to iron out the finer points. My fear is that they're poles apart on what's acceptable and Ashley is persevering with trying to find an agreement as he fears the backlash from us. I don't think much work will be done on the team in the next few weeks by anyone either way. Anyone involved in football is either on a sunny beach or will be on their way to one come 5pm on Saturday.

Lot of shite spouted in this thread like. They "seem to hate us" because they're laughing so hard. To be fair to them, it is hilarious. If Arsenal went down next year would you be sympathetic to their plight or would you piss yourself laughing. That wouldn't mean you were jealous of their 60,000 seat stadium or angry that they're jingoistic. It would just be funny as fuck to see a Premier league ever present go down. We're one season from being an ever present, so of course people are loving our fall from grace. The pathetic thing is when they try to come up with some other reason like we need to go down to rebuild, or our expectations are too high and that. I'd have some respect for them if they just said openly and honestly it's funny as fuck.
