  1. Wonder how many subscriptions to PPV channels have been cancelled since we got relegated. Call me deluded, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was more than any other close season drop off. Especially now that the championship is on BBC.
  2. I'd reserve jdgement on most predictions till the transfer window shuts.
  3. Spurs to sack Harry hang-dog by christmas.
  4. Love that 16 year old lass who does a Ric Flair with every swing of her bat. "Whoooooooooooooooooooh"
  5. If they do, should they be arrested, choked into semi-unconsciousness, beaten, handcuffed, bound at the knees and ankles and imprisoned for 4 days for doing so? No. Then what is your point in this thread? (besides arbitrarily trying to disagree with Fop of course ) Yes, of course they should, so long as it is legal (which it is). The courts decide guilt, not the police. You don't think the police should be left to get on with their entirely legal information gathering at any kind of protest whatsoever and should have a reactive approach to crime rather than pro-active. I thing intelligence gathering is part of the job. Also, if I saw a copper running after a suspected bag snatcher, I wouldn't hinder him and demand he give me his number. That would be obstruction.
  6. No. Are you saying the police force should? Of course you aren't. So why is not ok to take illegal action against Liberty, and yet (according to you) fine to take illegal action against these? I gave my opinion further up. They've done nowt wrong technically. But they're arseholes. So it's "ok" for the police to do whatever they want to people so long as they are arseholes (or Chris Holt thinks they are arseholes anyway?). Holt's Law. How many times do I need to say it's not ok for them to do what they want? The police are arseholes for biting too.
  7. If they do, should they be arrested, choked into semi-unconsciousness, beaten, handcuffed, bound at the knees and ankles and imprisoned for 4 days for doing so? No. Should the police consult fit watch to decide which protests are worthy of being monitored? Religious hate speech. Animal rights protesters. Anti-globalisation etc. Should the police be made to leave them all to get on with it?

  9. You don't believe in climate change? That's not their purpose. Fit Watch are opposed to Police surveillence. http://fitwatch.blogspot.com/ Did you watch the video? You have to go more than a few minutes for the context. Wots wrong with that? Do they try to stop them taking pictures outside Finsbury Park mosque?

  11. Brazil won a couple of tin pots like.
  12. How so? My ideallist half thinks everyone should rage against the machine any chance they get - on the other hand my cynical side thinks its a waste of time. I realise its only through past "ragers" that we have the notional freedoms we do have but I still think its a case of getting what you ask for. Winds me up seeing middle class rah-rah's trying to catch out police doing a difficult job (one that fewer and fewer people want to do), in the hope of getting some of them struck off. If they had an actual cause to protest I would have some sympathy, but when their sole purpose is to goad I think "fuck em!". Like my brother holding his finger in front of my face and insisting he's doing nowt wrong. Course I'm going to go into a rage and flay him.
  13. Police should have tickle sticks and full use of the naughty step and if either are used inappropriately by an individual, the entire force should be dismantled[/Fop] Maybe you could answer some of these then Chris? 1. What did they do wrong in the first place? Is taking photos of police and asking for their ID number a crime? 2. What did they do to need to be "choked out" (when pressure is put on the wind pipe until the victim basically collapses from lack of oxygen)? 3. What did they do to need to be bound with straps at the ankles and knees (as well as already being handcuffed and on the ground with several police officers on them)? 4. Why were they immediately imprisoned without possibility of bail for 4 days? (especially given all charges were dropped?) Seriously if you think the police should be allowed to get away with the stuff they do in that video, frankly you are a moron. I was lampooning your opinion, in the same way you lampooned the rest of toontastic. Just a clever piece of satire with no reference whatsoever to my personal opinion or viewpoint expressed on this specific video. A witty spoof of your clearly more nuanced view of policing and it's importance. See Fop said you'd not dare answer the questions. Funny how Fop's "witty spoof" actually occurred though, where as your "witty spoof" is just the usual playing to the same crowd. So you do think it was wrong and the entire force should be dismantled then? Concentrate on the fish, true to his name he seems keener to bite with this bait.
  14. It'll end up a classic favourite.

  17. Is this a thinly veiled brag about being in gainful employment? Get some work done snoozy, it's not like bein a student you know.
  18. Results 1 - 10 of about 79,700 for mike ashley deadline. (0.29 seconds)
  19. I felt sorry for his girlfriend. Sticks with him all the way through his nutty plan. So what does he do ... goes and fucks another girl as soon as he can! But really ... yep, it's a great documentary. I kept wondering why it had been made. I've never seen a documentary about so little. I kept wondering when it would make some point about anything...presuming it would be a 9/11 related point.....but it never did. Instead, the rope walker made the lack of a point explicit. The reporters kept asking him "why?" too, and there was no reason, it was just beautiful.
  20. Wasn't impressed with the first few episodes which were annoyingly full of unnatural exposition. But happy enough to stick with it and it rewards that, getting better and better until it peaks with a "Man Comes Around" montage at the end. More of a film than a TV series (being just the 7 hours), you can forgive it's flaws because there's certainly been no other film or TV series* that's highlighted to such a degree what a complete clusterfuck the occupation was/is. *Not drama anyway, documentaries like Iraq in Fragments and Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers are still a cut above.
  21. I was so excited I rushed my shower and now I'm going to be late, but....
