  1. Since the Greenpeace protesters have gone on to cause criminal damage they'd probably see it as an effective use of police time. I see no difference with this and filming fans around the stadium as they do when policing the local derby. Well yes, they'd probably argue that, but since it didn't prevent the later criminal damage taking place, what purpose did it actually serve? Anyway, what I'm more on about is the way in which if you do something perfectly legal, which peaceful protest is, you're then seen (in the current climate under 'anti-terror' legislation and so on), as being a potential 'enemy of the state' or whatever, which doesn't really sit well with me. I'm making a general point and haven't been able to watch the video anyway yet. Peaceful protest is legal. Pestering the police who are trying to do a job and taunting them into action is less clear cut. If PC plod was filming the daftees who rush each other up and down Barack Road, I wouldn't start pestering the copper for his number...even though the arseholes aren't actually involved in violence...yet.
  2. I've not defended the video. I've said Fit watch are bunch of fuckwits who I have less sympathy with than any peaceful protesters with a valid cause other than taunting police whenever possible.

  4. Not bad, you should have tried that tactic yesterday before you argued yourself into such a silly fascist hole. Fop falls short again. There's plenty of questions unanswered by you, Chris, in this thread already. If you have got time free from planning to crush people under your boot this morning (even the CSA needs a break from that, Fop guesses ) you are welcome to answer any of those. If not then we can all just laugh at the strange extremist philosophical cul-de-sacs you find yourself in by desperately trying to disagree with Fop. OK 1. What did they do wrong in the first place? Is taking photos of police and asking for their ID number a crime? I don't know, given it's an edited video and I wasn't there. Given their stated aims, I would have a guess at... 2. What did they do to need to be "choked out" (when pressure is put on the wind pipe until the victim basically collapses from lack of oxygen)? Very little it seems. 3. What did they do to need to be bound with straps at the ankles and knees (as well as already being handcuffed and on the ground with several police officers on them)? Seems excessive too. 4. Why were they immediately imprisoned without possibility of bail for 4 days? (especially given all charges were dropped?) Dunno. I'm not armed with all the information Now....you rashly stated they were... ...and answered someones question... Since.... and Fit Watch say Do you agree that arrest could possibly have been necessary and they could have been doing something wrong?

  6. btw. Really Chris you can dissemble all you like, but you've still argued yourself to the political right of Ming the Merciless on this one. :icon_lol: It's becoming a bit of a habit for you. I don't have much on this morning so if you quote what you disagree with me on and say why I'll be glad to respond petal.
  7. Didn't I read Gillette Fusion Quatro is selling his stake in that yank handball team for £330m to cover Liverpool's debt? Canadian Ice Hockey team was the story, near enough Not sure what happened with that but you'd be surprised if he was willing to sell that and plough it all into paying off LFC's debt single-handedly. It would be fucking mint if they went bust like. Aye. Unfortunately... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8114377.stm

  9. away fans are staying put. It's the standard common spotted uninformed journalist referring to last years rejig.
  10. That's wank. I see. He should have been spouting bollocks and grinning like a Cheshire cat as he spent 2 years injured and 2 years fighting relegation...single handedly staving it off first time around to no fanfare whatsoever. Then he would have been an honorary Geordie like Joey Barton who gets his name chanted for getting sent off against Liverpool. Fucking embarrassing.
  11. Fop's the only one who's said.... btw.
  12. Too late to try that now, Chris, you've already ridiculously argued yourself into a position somewhere to the right of the love child of Thatcher and Hitler. :icon_lol: Source?
  13. It's their primary objective and they boast of it man.
  14. Again where is the violence? And again what does Greenpeace on a boat have to do with that video? You've not answered one question in this thread. Coward. It's the same protest at Kingsnorth dullard. The people these women were "protecting" from over zealous policing have conspired to commit criminal damage. Who'd have though the police might have reason to believe they'd attack private property? Police were observing a potentially violent group of protesters. A few silly women think it's out of order to do that and started making a nuisance of themselves. They got removed so the police could get on (regretfully with too much force). Get it? Ah so it's "criminal damage" now not a riot. Well done you've actually read it. It's Greenpeace doing it not (as you said) Fit Watch so how are they the same people? But again they (the women in the video) were doing nothing, just protesting (and you can quite legally protest in the UK, as much as Labour keep bringing legislation banning it bit by bit), not violently, not threateningly, just peacefully. Asking questions isn't against the law in the UK either you know, as much as Holt's Law might want to make it so. Fop does love how you manage (in desperately trying to disagree) to argue yourself into what is basically a fascist corner and then just don't seem to know how to get out of it. You'll notice in my post that I distinguish between the two? I hardly ever disagree with you Fop darling. You rarely state an opinion. Which of these statements is true: a) Policing a protest in any way is wrong b) filming protesters for any reason is wrong c) arresting someone whose sole purpose is to hinder the effective policing of a protest is wrong d) Using excessive force to make an arrest is wrong I'd go for d. If you think any of the others, then why?
  15. You'll have to explain that one to me. Sounds like total horseshit.

  17. But it has.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/kent/8112076.stm No it hasn't can you not read either? They have some people on a boat - clearly the should have shot them all. But just imagine what they'd have done if they'd been asking for police ID number. :icon_lol: (are you really trying to say that what the police did to those two women in that video was "justified" somehow, because Greenpeace got some people onto a coal boat? How on earth do you related those things? Really in not just arguing for the same of it world - how? ) Smiley quotient going through the roof as his protesty pals let him down badly.
  18. So the police can just to whatever they want to whomever they want and it's all ok because the courts will decide if they were guilty of something or completely innocent when they were beaten for no reason. Really Chris you do argue yourself into some truly moron corners. So your idea of "pro-active" policing is for the police to choke into semi-unconciousness, beat and then handcuff and then tie at the knees and ankles as well? All because they asked for an ID number (but might have been carrying a nuclear weapon and about to use it ). Do you realise how stupid you sound? You seem to be certain that the police brutality came before the obstruction by these women. I condone neither, but these women were getting in the way of police doing their job at a protest that was likely to, and has, turned violent.
  19. But it has.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/kent/8112076.stm
