Wish I had time to go on my own more often. I got a free ticket to Harry Brown and went to that on my own a couple of weeks ago. Only been to a couple of others that no-one else fancied in the past. 4 weeks, 3 months, 2 weeks, 1 day (or whatever it's called) and Gosford Park. When I was a kid I thought people on their todd were saddo's, but now I'm older I understand that I can like things that gangs of my mates don't necessarily.

I'll never forget the time I was mistaken for German. Went into the Natural History museum and asked at the counter "what time do you close?"* She asked me to repeat it three times and then said she'd get their German translator. Cockney bint. *It might have been more like "Whendjuzshut?"

Interested to hear more on this one. Gonna be levied against the company giving the bonus rather than the individual. I thought I read the banks had already started rewarding their people with 150% pay hikes instead though. Or did I dream it?

Wouldn't a cap as percentage of turnover leave the same inequality between Man U and Oxford? -

It's not like he's been shagging total dogs like Hugh Grant. For some men there's an attraction to a bit of diversity, the thrill of the chase, the danger of being caught. Even if your lass is a stunner. Why have McDonalds when there's prime steak at home? Because steak every night of the week for 6 years gets VERY boring. The hugely succesful often demand more. But it doesnt matter where you get your steak from, it all gets boring sooner or later. People who cheat constantly have deeper issues, they crave the affection, they need to know they are still desirable. Yeah we all look at fit lasses and think 'I wouldnt mind a night with that', but it takes a bigger and better man to appreciate what they already have and to pass it up. Why would you want to shit all over the feelings of someone you supposedly love for a tart who wouldnt look twice at you if you werent famous? That fact alone would be a big turn off for me. If I was single id like to be able to pull someone because they liked me, not my money. But you've failed that test yourself in the past. People in glass houses tbh.

How draconian. Sounds like the UK 15 years ago.

Just been confirmed - wonder if he's gone for her?! Judging by his taste so far I reckon she'll be a bit old for him.

Other countries including Germany still have those industries. There may be an argument that some of the things she did were right but the lack of thought for the immediate consequences of those changes and the delight she took was devestating. It could also be argued that her destruction of industry was not borne out of a long-term cost-benefit appraisal of the fiscal impact of subsidising nationalised industry but out of a destire to destroy the unions and create a paradigm shift to the right in British politics. We're striking on Thursday. Power to the people!

How do the top-level leagues in both rugby codes have salary caps then? The thing is though, the top players have started going to France now where there's no salary cap iirc for Rugby Union. To make it work it would have to be across Europe which is where you might encounter problems with the EU. Absolutley. -

How do the top-level leagues in both rugby codes have salary caps then? Because no one cares enough to kick up a fuss. I think you've misunderstood who dictates whether or not there's a salary cap. UEFA could impose a cap. But they want the best players in the world playing in their competitions (The Champions League, UEFA Cup). That's how they get a worldwide audience, and none of the teams competing are short of a bob or two anyway. THE FA could impose a cap, but it would not be enforceable in UEFA competitions. So teams would either have one squad for the domestic league/cup and another for European football....or would leave the domestic league altogether to chase bigger bucks. There's no law against it. It just wouldn't pay any of the associations to implement it in their competitions. -

Johann Johannsson - Fordlandia Only gave this a couple of cursory listens when it came out. Going back to it now I realise The Rocket Builder is the track I love which Charlie Brooker uses on Screenwipe. Fans of Sigur Ros should enjoy the whole album.

Childish, completely unworkable, socialist values? Because I don't think they're particularly original. Well as Malcolm X said “If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything.” I dont think they honestly believe they will change the world. But getting just one more person to think about how they are living makes it worthwhile. I stand for not giving Sony Time Warner more money for a track I've already paid them for once. I might buy the X-factor song though, if I like it. that Joe's got a helluva voice.
