“Newcastle United couldn’t survive at the moment without Mike’s money, it’s as simple as that." This is remarkably similar to a statement made in December when 'a source' said “Without Mike's input, the club would be broke. Simple as that." which I wrote about here and commented was like saying Josef Fritzl deserved credit for supporting Elizabeth Fritzl all her life. "If Mike and the banks weren't willing to cover the cost of relegation Newcastle may well be in a Portsmouth situation" He's given no impression whatsoever that he's "willing" to do any such thing. Like a rat on a sinking ship (the rat that gnawed through the hull) he's had the club on the market during almost every transfer window he's been at the club (or has claimed to have it on the market). He's often referred to his desire to cut his losses and sell up. He's been forced to cover the cost of his own mistake and nothing more. This is no act of altruism we're seeing. It's pure business. He knows this club is worth more than the current value he's dragged us down to....and a great deal more than Portsmouth who are a far smaller club with an average gate less than half the size of ours even in the league above.

£159 from Dell Twat's took a month to deliver it though.

I'm struggling to set the resolution. It should be 1920 x 1080 but it seems my graphics card won't support that. Which graphics card should i buy? I don't play any games, I just use the PC for Itunes, internet and email but i would like to edit HD video (.mt2s) in Sony Vegas. The monitor has an HDMI input to so I guess an HDMI out on the graphics card is called for too.

Why would people hate him? The Seeger Sessions are mint.

I thought it was because Thatcher's popularity was at a record low. By the end it was at a record high. I'd say that makes me a cynic, but then, Leazes would say it makes me naive.

That's what struck me. "Immigrant" has become as narrow and emotive in meaning (asylum seekers & illegals) as 'terrorist' has (muslims). A far greater proportion of immigrants are well educated fully contributing members of UK society than the proportion of British citizens that are.

The way you call other people naive while repeatedly referring to goodies and baddies like some 7 year old playing cowboys and indians is a constant source of amusement. you're too idealogical, like most students. However, you're not an idiot, like one or two others. Why thankyou. Remember that every member of the cabinet that took us to war, and still support it, went to university. I'm not a pacifist who opposes all war on grounds of peace and love either, I oppose this war because we're the aggressors and it makes Britain a less safe place to live, which is an undeniable fact.

Depite the lowest base rate in history the cost of taking a loan is now at a 9 year high. The wealthiest men on the planet are bound to think all is well.

Yep, those expansions are good things too. They don't expand across the board though. They aren't new public plans that give every American the choice of avoiding private insurance (and the massive overheads they have in comparison to medicare or medicaid) by taking up a government plan where more of every dollar they spend can go on healtchcare rather than shareholder dividends. The middle class paying for what little change there is going to be, thanks to the wealthiest people having lobbyists fighting to ensure they make a profit out of reform.
-
Is there going to be an insurance plan run by the government like? There are already 2 of them, Medicare and Medicaid. Yes, and fine things they are too. But those limited schemes are already listed above in addition to the "new public plan".

So the democratic promise of a public option, which they used as a platform to get elected, was a lie.....which is all the article is saying. No comment is made on the rights or wrongs of that public option. They ran on 'healthcare reform' not 'a public option'. There was probably a lot of discussion of a public option but pre-election rhetoric was about lowering healthcare costs for families. He did use some language around 'universal healthcare' but i dont recall a public option (which is essentially saying an NHS for low income families). http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/issues/HealthCareFullPlan.pdf Mentions the "new public plan" repeatedly. I agree that he didn't run on "The public option" alone, but the essence of the article is how much democrats have voiced their preference for a public option as part of the reform they ran on as long as it looked like a pipe dream, and how unwilling they are to put it into action given the opportunity to do so.

The BNP's website No wink required tbh correct. im not afraid to gaze at 'the dark side' every once in a while. it provides balance... Providing balance would be providing the link, thereby letting everyone know you were quoting a BNP blog. You've only admitted it because I've rumbled you. ??? not certain about that. if i'd provided the link people would have dismissed it out of hand without reading it because it's alledgedly 'racist'. and lets face it, its not exactly the kind of story the mainstream would carry is it? and its not a blog (ie. a personal diary), its a news story. dont dismiss it quite so readily. I dismissed it after reading the first sentence without knowing which far right loons had published it. EDIT: and if it's not the kind of story the mainstream media report....why does the BNP story reference other news reports? dont know. you'd better ask them i would guess. maybe its from a local rag and not one of the mainstream. and if you only read the 1st sentence, how did you see that??? Nah, it's all over the BBC...they just don't use the emotive language... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/8532868.stm and I went back and read some more.

No, but a lot of people still seem to have faith in Obama for some reason.

I'm sure it was added pretty early in the original run though. -

Isn't handwringing an excessive expression of distress? Seems to apply to you and Axeman more than anyone else.
