  1. I'd love Dalglish to go back there....and demolish his reputation with Liverpool fans. I have no doubt he'd fail.
  2. The pub were raging at Pardoo for not starting Ranger when it came on SSN before. A bit of hard work against Liverpool seems to have won the fans over, but he must be gash in training to be almost as low in the pecking order as Xisco. His miss would back up that view..
  3. Just counting up the number of games Qualifying round 1 = 2 Qualifying round 2 = 2 Qualifying round 3 = 2 Play-off = 2 Group stage = 6 Round of 32 = 2 Round of 16 = 2 QF = 2 SF = 2 Final =1 Up to 23 games to win it. Mental.
  4. I'm not seriously contemplating the notion of us reaching it though. Just commenting on the logistical problem for any club qualifying for the Europa league. Teams should treat it like the league cup and go with reserves until UEFA halve the number of games.
  5. When have Newcastle fans ever been less than cynical about an owner/chairman? Don't see why we worry about Ashley being back on good terms.
  6. It doesn't offer the financial rewards you need to strengthen your squad enough to compete in both Europe AND domestically, so invariably anyone that qualifies has a shit season in the league.
  7. My cousin was saying last night the solution to Ancelloti's problems is to sell Terry, lampard and Drogba.
  8. He was waiting on the byline ages...either for treatment or a decision from Pardew whether to come off. He just walked off the pitch, never noticed him on the by line. He bent over by the corner flag to hold it and slowly walked back to the halfway line for a chat with Pardew. Should have just sat down where it happened and waited for the ref to stop play.
  9. He was waiting on the byline ages...either for treatment or a decision from Pardew whether to come off.
  10. The sack race really heated up last night... Ancelotti Woy Grant Mancini Houllier I wouldn't give any of them spending power in January.
  11. I think that's why I think Coyle's done a better job. You see it time after time with newly promoted teams where sheer enthusiasm carries them through their first season.....or at least until christmas. Coyle has took what were one of the ugliest teams in the league, full of jaded players that had already been to every stadium in the league and got them playing some lovely stuff.
  12. We could have played another 45 minutes with 10 men and I don't think they'd have scored. Their wastage around the box became funny.
  13. Update.... Pardoo 60% Fergie 60% Wenger 57% Mancini 54% Saggy Face 47% Ancelloti 47% Pulis 38% Holloway 37% Bruce 36% As Rob W will tell you, Pardoo is the best manager in the league and the best Newcastle ever had.
  14. First one I think. It was a fuck up as well I know, that looked fucking painful. JC is the best film-stunt-guy ever imo. I've not seen any of his films with Sammo Hung, but I love that guy too; used to love Martial Law when that was on telly, quality kung-fu scenes. Actually I'm lying I saw Meals on Wheels which had Sammo in, was ok. Fucking stupid story but the fight scenes at the end are awesome. Love Sammo Hung. Project A, Eastern Condors, Wheels on Meals, Magnificent Butcher, Encounters of the Spooky Kind, The Prodigal Son. Classics. He was in Enter the Dragon too.
  15. http://www.asda-entertainment.co.uk/dvd/bo...s/10078810.html Don't blame me mind....I've not seen it yet and some stinkers get awards over there.
  16. Bucth and Sundance can't appear in any list of mine due to the bike scene. Only time that song has made me cringe more was in Spiderman 2.

City Of God Amelie Oldboy ....leaves no room for There Will Be Blood I know you haven't watched these but make sure you do.. 1.The White Ribbon A superb and disturbing film, Michael Haneke's vision of pre-first world war Germany offers no easy answers. By Peter Bradshaw 5 out of 5 2 THE TWILIGHT SAMURAI 3. Zero Focus 2009, 130 min., 35 mm, color, in Japanese with English subtitles. Directed by Isshin Inudou. With Hidetoshi Nishijima, Ryoko Hirosue, Miki Nakatani, Tae Kimura, Takeshi Kaga. A stellar remake of the classic 1961 Yoshitaro Nomura film (based on the bestselling novel by Seicho Matsumoto) and the closest Japanese film in years to an Alfred Hitchcock picture, with a Douglas Sirk edge. Ryoko Hirosue plays Teiko, a newlywed who's investigating the sudden disappearance of her husband, Kenichi (Hidetoshi Nishijima), after he fails to return from a business trip. As she unravels the mystery surrounding his disappearance she uncovers evidence that he was not the man she thought had married. Soon, she learns that her beloved husband was close to two fascinating women: elegant provincial aristocrat Sachiko (Miki Nakatani) and company receptionist Hisako (Tae K I recommended The Twilight Samurai in my "Eastern cinema" thread a few years ago. It is quality.
