YOu let him off the hook when he was reeling. I'm in my early 30's, there's no point in abusing him for the sake of it. You can't mould people in to how you want them to be. Take The Fish, at the bottom of him he's not a bad bloke, for years I've thought he was a wierdo, I still do, but he's his own bloke who am I or anyone else to say look you're a mug, you should change? Same as J69, comes across as arrogant, but we can all be guilty of that from time to time. If he talks shite or says something offensive I say something. Look at LM, nothing against him, he's a canny enough bloke imo, but Mancmag could produce the best post there's ever been on any message board, and still I think LM would put some negative slant on it because of towering net row flames which can be seen from here to N-O between the two, and there are little net angsts between people all over the shop, but it's daft really. I'd like to think if 90% of people met me in a pub they'd think aye, bit fuckin radge in his own way but he's areet, and am sure I'd think the same about the vast majority of other people on here. There's a lot of communication lost by just reading text, still though you can have a good laugh from time to time on here. My image of Fish on here was that he had long curly hair yet slightly balding (basically trying to hang onto his locks) who wore a purple tweed jacket, brown pants with wacky yellow canvas shoes. Probably dabbled in juggling. He seemed normal in his picture though. I imagined him to be Mark off Peep Show. Having seen his picture I see him more as Jeremy off Peep Show.

It's a bit like the world record for eating beans with a cocktail stick though, tbf. Good cause and all that, obviously. The amazing thing is that there was no drop off in quality whatsoever, even after 50 hours....consistently shit.

There's an android App to stream it live to your phone now. It's boosted my anti-west, democracy hating, intolerance through the roof. Sir David Frost's bile fuelled sermon's are particularly anti-British.

Wordle how did you do that one specifically? Searched for his recent GC posts, cut and paste them in and generate. The NUFC version would be fascinating too. SHEPHERD

I'm not sending anybody anywhere you don't seem to realise they are volunteers and know what can happen when they sign the dotted line. Of course, you'll be the first to complain if innocent civilians are killed....what did Gaddafi say when you invited him in for a cuppa to tell him what a bad lad he is and try to persuade him to give up peacefully ? I think that was you mate... You idealistic loony lefty liberal do-gooder. EDIT: reminds me of Brass-eye btw... "You've gotta kill some people, anyway. You can't kill everybody, 'cause you wouldn't have anybody left to respect if you did" no, I said its unavoidable. Unlike those who think war is like a computer game, or are happy to see Gaddafi remain in power, like they thought we should have allowed Saddam to remain in power..... Big difference between deliberate and unavoidable. Anyway, that was for Rob. Yeah...you want to "deliberately" send our soldiers to die, and to jeopardise the lives of innocent civilians, rather than live with the "unavoidable" bloodspill of a dictator we propped up for decades. FWIW, I find it very odd that the US are sitting idly by seemingly hoping for Gaddafi to retain power...or to replace him with another military puppet in order to maintain the status quo. Shouldn't this be their moment of vindication? Didn't Bush insist that the sweep of democracy across the middle east was the goal of invading Afghanistan/Iraq? To allow the opportunity to slip, rather than pushing for UN sanctions seems to be rank hypocrisy. Actually it's not odd...it's the same old story. so is that the reason for allowing Gaddafi to continue, like Saddam ? Or do you think such actions as sending in military need to be sanctioned or "legalised" by the UN ? I was just childishly lampooning your position that it'll be unavoidable that we kill innocent civilians (including our own) when we go in to stop Gaddafi killing innocent civilians. I do think any invasion of another country should be sanctioned by the majority though, rather than satisfying the interersts of a minority. Wasn't that what Churchill wanted and Roosevelt wanted when they came up with the UN, and wrote into the charter "that armed force shall not be used, save in the common interest, and to employ international machinery for the promotion of the economic and social advancement of all peoples" That shouldn't be ignored should it? Unless you want Korea or Iran justifying an attack on the US because the US tortures it's own innocent civilians. you say I have "liberal" views Of course killing innocent civilians is unavoidable. At what cost exactly and for how long are you prepared to run away from a conflict ? Is it because you just hope the problem will go away ? Ref the last bit in bold, are you seriously comparing the US with Korean or Iran ? Astounding. You must be pretty woolly and idealistic to be so assured that less than 2000 deaths are an unacceptable toll and must be challenged no matter what the cost. I always thought you were more hardened and realistic than that. So it's the degree of murder and torture of ones own innocent citizens that concerns you? It's fine for the US to start doing it to those that are being too difficult, because other backward countries do it more?

why? You'd get to enjoy Jamie Lee Curtis's tits

Leazes, have you never seen Trading Places?

Ridiculous notions of the inate lawlessness of groups being spouted in this thread. People behave in their own interests when they know that nobody else is looking out for them. It's 6 years since Katrina and there's still ghost towns across New Orleans. There's been hardly any concerted reconstruiction effort to put people back in their homes. That's not a failing of the people, it's a failing of government....and it's what every person in those cities new would happen within days of the disaster when they saw the pitiful response in the immediate aftermath. Kanye West was right. It's 10 years since 9/11 and it's still a desolate wasteland too. People behave themselves and take care of each other when they know that they won't be left hanging themselves. I don't doubt for one second the japanese will have reconstruction well in hand within 6 yerars.

They're out now - wouldn't have checked if it hadn't been for your post, so cheers for the heads-up. Got myself front row circle seats for the Brighton Dome gig. Happy to be of service. Gigs and Tours say they're on sale tomorrow. I'll have to get my O2 using mole to get me tickets before general sale.

Just watching Hilarious now. Funny like. "I'm not saying I'd kill a kid to fuck him, but if I find him dead in a field...."

Personally i think the Germans dont want the cost of intervention when it is mainly the french and british who will gain economically. The arguments they give are sound but not convincing. The same story has Clinton saying there's "no US support" for imposing a no fly zone... http://www.newser.com/story/114204/libya-n...ks-g8-plan.html

Ah, fair enough then. Do you not feel we have more of a moral obligation to depose the two men in question, seeing as we aided them in the past? With regard to being welcomed as liberators, the circumstances are vastly different in this case. A no-fly zone would be welcomed by the UAL and by the rebels themselves. That's referring exclusively to the NFZ though, I'm not sure where you two are at. Make up for our interfering with their sovereignty in the past by unilaterally interfering with their sovereignty? Nah. No objections to taking other countries along with us if they can be convinced. But I get the impression the preference is to keep a cork on things rather than risk a democratic outcome that could see ANYONE get in.

Kuqi was old enough, now we're getting Moira Stewart?
