  1. It's like I'm in some parallel universe where Toon fans are actually happy about something for once. plenty of gorgeous midfield domination......no-one up front to make anything of it. balance restored
  2. Aye. Nice to be genuinely excited as to how the new team will link up.
  3. Surely the £30m+ leftover from Carroll sale should do that though the sale of bassong, beye, duff and Martin's didn't. 30m is about half the running costs at best. not saying we won't turn a profit, but you don't get all your money in advance.

  5. it seems to me its just to cover running costs for the season. Ashley has had to do that every year without security to borrow against. Now we have the security.
  6. Yep. One side reeks of desperation somewhat more than the other though, no.
  7. Yesterday I worked for Leo Apotheker. A jew whose family fled Nazi Germany, a proper lefty he would go out on strike and got his teeth knocked out by police. He speaks 5 languages, he's honored with the French Légion d'honneur and not at all objectionable as far as I could tell. Today I work for Meg Whitman. She's Presbyterian She's a republican, supporting Mitt Romney and John McCain. She ran for governer of California spending more personal funds than anyone in US history $144m. She still lost. During the campain she opposed the Global Warming Solutions Act (requires the state to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent). She has a husband called Griffith Rutherford Harsh IV and a son called Griffith Rutherford Harsh V. She was at Proctor and Gamble when they forced women to use toxic tampons. She's been on the board of Goldman Sach's, the most evil bank there is. Her primary charitable work is to exploit environmental issues with market based solutions. She refused Warren Buffet's request to join his and other billionaire's 'Giving Pledge' While at Ebay she beat up her employee Young Mi Kim and paid her 200k to keep her quiet. She said "I want to hold employers accountable for hiring only documented workers." and was shown to hire an illegal housekeeper. She supported Prop 8 - outlaw same sex marriage. She says legalizing pot is "the worst idea [she has] ever seen." Her son was accused of rape in 2006 She imported Teletubbies to the US. I feel dirty.
  8. Not sure why being located on the Scottish border makes us more of a money magnet than being in the capital.
  9. How's Liverpool added £10m (about 30%) to matchday without an expansion as regular CL qualifiers across that period? That's some price hikes.
  10. They'll have an Arsenal hangover. We'll shit 'em.
  11. PP, can you employ a TT intern please?
  12. For Spurs too. That doesn't give us any more potential.
  13. In what respect? 20,000 extra seats? That's worth about £6m a year. A good deal, but dwarfed by the TV money. And attracting players to that there London is a lot easier.
  14. Since Ashley's first results (2008)...
  15. For the millionth time Spurs is our benchmark of what is poss. That's why I highlighted them numbnuts
  16. It get's to the point where the effort involved isn't really worth the spurious numbers thrown out. Thanks to Chez picking loads of numbers out of the ramble and a few google searches, here's the PL ordered by growth since 2005. Highlighted Spurs as the comparable club at the time. EDIT: NUFC and WBA were in the Championship for the last set of figures.....Norwich in League 1. Stands to reason.
  17. Not necessarily - If you use the actual exchange rate from the same date each year it'll be as decent an approximation as anything.... so: I took 1st June (midpoint of the year-ish): 2006 1.46 2007 1.47 2008 1.26 2009 1.16 2010 1.20 Source: http://www.x-rates.com/cgi-bin/hlookup.cgi Apply those to the years and see what pops out, you have the spreadsheet already so I'll let you do the work Good idea in theory, but the Deloittes report comes out in early Feb. I could take the exchange rate from that moment, but all the clubs being surveyed announce their yearly results across a wide spread of the year, each when the exchange rate is different to another. Just looking at the figure it results in for Newcastle's income, 2005-2007 is pretty close, but after that it's way off as the exchange rate becomes more volatile...
  18. only one of those is good though The consequences of love Gomorrah City of god in Bruges leon
  19. Not been downloading any tv in ages. Got the whole series to look forward to.

  22. There's so many conflicting numbers. The guardians numbers for 07/08 turnover http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/table/2...over-wages-debt Some of them match that footballeconomy page, others are miles out.
  23. Something like this.... http://www.footballeconomy.com/content/big...r-200405-200708 But it stopped 3 years back.
