  1. Weren't the brexit polls like 3% out or something? The US election polls would need to be 20% out to defy expectations.
  2. But you dismiss Clinton's lies as unimportant so you don't care about the truth either. They view Trump the same way. So he said 650m immigrants will enter the country.... they won't. It's just a bit of hyperbole.
  3. Which people? Are you saying Trump's lies have not got media coverage? It's the job of Clinton and Trump supporters to amplify their opponent's lies and disregard their candidates.
  4. I think there's an important distinction to be made between the Trump campaign and the Republicans. Establisment republicans have kept quiet about anything and everything that has been revealed about Clinton, because they're all up to the same stuff by and large and she's only in the limelight because she's running. Trump has been able to elevate criticism beyond what would be reasonable, not only because he's an inept liar that will say anything about anyone who opposes him, but also because he's not a career politician that has used these methods his whole life and could be exposed for it himself.
  5. Haven't seen anyone say they were surprised by any of the Clinton mails. From setting up her home server to the Podesta mails to the Weiner mails, it all very much confirmed whatever anyone thought of Clinton in the first place - good politician doing what all politicians do or liar doing what liars do. it only depended on your preconceived view of her. Many on the right have defended Clinton and circled the wagons around her to keep Trump from getting in and upsetting the status quo. See David Frum on Bill Maher Friday gone for example. Speaking of which, Maher has performed a mea culpa and taken back all he said about Bush, Cheyney, McCain and Romney to join the big elite party in the centre all getting along and agreeing nothing is worse than anything outside. It's a pretty disgusting thing to have done and bestows legitemacy on all the deeds previously perceived as evil by the left. https://ricochet.com/386562/honorable-men-disagreed/ The McCarthyite red scaring that both sides have engaged in is the most worrying thing in all this. Heightening tensions with Russia for short term political gain could have massive long term repercussions.
  6. You're missing the most important point. Essembee will point it out soon
  7. We never got round to watching any more after season 1. It was canny enough, but it's the lowest rated season on Metacritic and every one of the 4 seasons gets a better rating than the last. Must get back to it.
  8. The US is outraged that the FBI might possibly be politicised or acting nefariously https://www.aclu.org/sites/default/files/assets/unleashed-and-unaccountable-fbi-report.pdf
  9. Stewart Lee tonight seemed to be the broadest I've ever seen him. Brexit voters are cunts, under 40s are self obsessed and can't appreciate a thing, a view or a moment. Game of Thrones is Peter Stringfellow's Lord of The Rings and The internet is the new top of the pops - the home of music and sexual predators. Consistent long and loud laughs, no long, silent, uncomfortable delays waiting for the nex punchline. There was one bit where he went on far longer than any other comedian would, bashing his microphone against his palm with a stupid grin on his face and I was crying laughing at that. Best bit of the night.
  10. Where are all them people that were saying how difficult we'd find this division? Cake walk.
  11. Who among us hasn't hidden a $1m gift from an opressive regime with vested interests in our decisions.
  12. the British blocked EU inquiries into whether war crimes were being committed in Yemen, while key MPs have blocked reports proving that U.K. weapons were being used in the commission of war crimes and the deliberate targeting of civilians. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/sep/24/yemen-britain-human-rights-inquiry https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/sep/07/mps-poised-to-call-for-suspension-of-uk-arms-sales-to-saudi-arabia
  13. As the New York Times editorial page put it in August: “The United States is complicit in this carnage,” while The Guardian editorialized that “Britain bears much responsibility for this suffering.”
  14. The Saudi foreign minister, Adel al-Jubeir, said.... “We have British officials and American officials and officials from other countries in our command and control centre. They know what the target list is and they have a sense of what it is that we are doing and what we are not doing,” he told journalists in London after meeting British ministers and US secretary of state, John Kerry. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jan/15/british-us-military-in-command-room-saudi-strikes-yemen?CMP=share_btn_tw
  15. Appreciate it, but there's no need for all the sympathy on my account lads. He's had Marfan since birth. Heart op at 1. Rod in his back at 14. Replaced heart valve at 16. His partner died before their bairn was 1, then 3 years ago the SS was diagnosed, lost most of his sight, taste, smell and hearing since. Broke his hip then went in a wheelchair. And through it all he's been the funniest bloke I've met, so we follow his example and don't dwell on owt. This bout of the shits and resulting hospital stay is the least of his tribulations. Was playing snakes and ladders with my nephew last week and he said he was good at it. I said it was a game of luck and he said " aye but I'm a lucky boy". Christ
  16. Shit! It looks like editing the op on my mobile has deleted the poll @@Ant are you able to recover
