  1. Sweeeeeet. We've got a lovefilm account and we normally pass DVDs round the parents and grandparents, takes about a month to get round everyone. Have to get it cancelled and give 'em all our login details to this.
  2. Is it one account per device? Or can I view using WDTV, xbox, touchpad, laptop and smart tv all from my one account?
  3. Turned on my xbox yesterday to have a whack of the free trial, but couldn't hear myself think over the noise so had to turn it off straight away. Dunno how people watch a film with that racket. Just been checking if I can get it on WDTV (which is silent) and it seems I can, so I'll give that a whack tonight.
  4. Was colo a last minute withdrawal on Saturday? Never realised he was injured, and immediately started to worry he was off chatting to other clubs.
  5. Wild Flag - Wild Flag One of my favourites from last year. Future Crimes and Glass Tambourine are mint songs. Main lass out of Sleater Kinney for those that like them and didn't know.
  6. The bloke had already been tazered chaps, but wasn't going down. http://newsone.com/nation/casey-gane-mccalla/police-shoot-and-kill-man-with-crowbar-outside-carls-jr-on-video/ Have to say it's best to live in a country where this sort of thing is frowned upon....as it is in the US. There isn't a country you could go to where police don't shoot people up, the really fucked up places are those where it gets no response.
  7. I'll have a White Russian on occasion, out of respect for Jeffrey Lebowski.
  8. I've never seen him play and have no idea how he'll pan out. Fingers crossed though. That's the honest answer that 90% of poster should be giving too
  9. Driving the western states of the US for 3 weeks in October/November. Any recommendations of places to go gratefully received.
  10. Nowhere Boy John Lennon gets all teenage about his mam and aunt Mimi. Wasn't expecting much and wasn't surprised. The Thief of Bahgdad Laughable. Woeful effects and borderline racist. It won the oscar for effects at the time though. Full colour with flying carpets/horses, giant spiders (with strings) and 60ft genies and that. Considering it was made in 1940, the same year as The Great Dictator and Rebecca, you have to say it was a generation ahead of its time. Proper Sunday afternoon when it's pouring down outside stuff....which is how I watched it. The Help Another story of black folk through the prism of whitey. Ida E. Jones, the national director of the Association of Black Women Historians, released an open statement criticizing "The Help" in An Open Statement to the Fans of The Help. The letter stated that "[d]espite efforts to market the book and the film as a progressive story of triumph over racial injustice, The Help distorts, ignores, and trivializes the experiences of black domestic workers." The group of scholars accused both the book and the film of insensitive portrayals of African-American vernacular, a nearly uniform depiction of black men as cruel or absent, and a failure to acknowledge the sexual harassment that many black women endured in their white employers’ homes. Jones concluded by saying that "The Association of Black Women Historians finds it unacceptable for either this book or this film to strip black women’s lives of historical accuracy for the sake of entertainment." Roxane Gay of literary web magazine The Rumpus articulated reasons the film might be offensive to African Americans, mentioning the film's use of racial Hollywood stereotypes like the Magical Negro and Gone With the Wind's Mammy. That's just the namby pamby lefties moaning as they/we do though. The worst thing about it is it's not very good. Not for a bloke anyway.
  11. Watched 4 episodes of it today like. I'd watched the first two seasons ages ago. Season 3 and 4 are the ones where it really becomes great imo. The finales on them two are up with the best telly ever.
  12. How can anyone looking at the goals we conceded at Fulham think we sit too deep? Best had chances, cabaye and Simpson too. Penalty was 100%. Not saying we were mint, but they didn't even have a shot on goal of their own. Just one of them nights.
  13. For months the cry has been that Ben arfa on the wing will win games cos Obertan was to blame for every game we lost. Now Pardew puts Ben arfa there and somehow he has wasted him. I'm not saying one game vindicates the amount of time Ben arfa spent on the bench, but the grief pardew is getting for doing what's been touted on here for months is daft. Just one of them nights.
  14. You can take it camping with you I guess. How many times you used the new tent exactly?
  15. Manchester City reject Liverpool's Andy Carroll for Carlos Tevez offer Scousers openly touting Carroll about now. http://m.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jan/28/liverpool-andy-carroll-carlos-tevez?cat=football&type=article
  16. Bollocks. Everyone knows about the work he does there, with his name all over it and widely publicised in the UK. He never shuts up about it. I think he does it so someone will talk to him. The prick can't have any mates he doesn't pay for. Love the fella as a footballer though, especially for NUFC. He was mint.
  17. getting rid of pardew would be worse then getting rid of hughton
  18. So, according to your logic, we shouldn't complain about bad officiating because bad officiating worked to our benefit too? jus saying its swings and roundabouts. Cabaye shoulda won a pen, but he shouldn't have been on the pitch.
  19. how can anyone have a pop at the ref who missed cabaye kicking the face off an opponent
