  1. Hi Dan. How long do they let you play online at the facility?
  2. It's noteworthy that reaction to the Muslim register seems to be much more vocal and drawing more comparisons to Nazi era anti-semitism than the no fly list that grew exponentially under Obama to include... Seven month olds http://www.upworthy.com/a-7-month-old-baby-on-the-no-fly-list-yup-but-thats-not-the-most-absurd-thing-about-it 18 month olds http://countercurrentnews.com/2015/12/fbi-has-baby-removed-from-airplane-for-being-on-no-fly-list/ Four year olds http://www.nbcnews.com/id/10725741/ns/us_news-security/t/-year-old-turns-government-no-fly-list/#.WC3GRLKLSHs Six year olds https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/mar/04/canada-six-year-old-kid-no-fly-list-air-travel-syed-adam-ahmed and Cat Stevens That list passed 80,000 individuals in June 2016, predominantly Muslim of course. It's dwarfed by the 1.9m people on the "Terorist Watch List" globally. While all these lists are abhorrent for anyone of principle, Trump's doesn't (as yet) have an immediate infringement on anyone's rights otherwise but has drawn most criticism due to his failure to to couch it in less racist language and his bluntness about how many it will cover.

  4. One of his 10 pledges. We will give people stronger employment rights from day one in a job, end exploitative zero hours contracts and create new sectoral collective bargaining rights, including mandatory collective bargaining for companies with 250 or more employees. We will create new employment and trade union rights to bring security to the workplace and win better pay and conditions for everyone. We will strengthen working people’s representation at work and the ability of trade unions to organise so that working people have a real voice at work. And we will put the defence of social and employment rights, as well as action against undercutting of pay and conditions through the exploitation of migrant labour, at the centre of the Brexit negotiations agenda for a new relationship with Europe. I didn't even know he'd made 10 pledges until I searched for his platform off the back of Rayvin's post. He should have put them on a £50k granite slab.
  5. Good shout. They didn't disclose that Ashley's brother's delivery company got the SD contract for international delivery https://www.theguardian.com/business/2016/aug/22/sports-direct-pays-mike-ashleys-older-brother-international-delivery
  6. According to a companies house filing yesterday Ernst & Young, auditors to NUFC for a decade, have resigned.. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/02529667/filing-history They say there's no reason behind it that would require creditors to be informed, so can't be anything underhand. Thought it noteworthy though.
  7. ...and reiterates the point from Chez that Trump will welcome them with open arms when he ran on a platform of draining the swamp.
  8. Extended album version has been my ringtone this year
  9. Joshua Wright from Google too. In charge of transition efforts at the Federal Trade Commission. https://theintercept.com/2016/11/15/google-gets-a-seat-on-the-trump-transition-team/ After their close work with Obama's white House and Clinton's campaign you'd think Google and Trump would be slightly embarrased to so quickly embrace each other.
  10. Fantastic Beasts was excellent. Message is all the more relevant with Trump winning.
  11. I thought he mentioned schools because he's a nonce.
  12. It's an interesting dichotomy between the democrats who want to reform campaign finance and Republicans who don't. Clinton raised twice as much as Trump and her super PACs almost 4 times as much as Trump's. So why do they line up that way? Obama spent more on both of his campaigns too, although Romney raised more from PAC's in 2012. If it's going to be the case that Democratic PAC's outstrip Republican, I guess we'll see the Republican support for Citizens United dry up and Democrats defending it more.
  13. That was 2 weeks before the election. On election day the polls had closed. http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/?ex_cid=rrpromo that's 538s model which is a poll of polls though, they gave Trump a better chance than anyone and you're right about how low some polls went. Nate Silver explains here... http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-fivethirtyeight-gave-trump-a-better-chance-than-almost-anyone-else/
  14. I liked the 538 defence of their polls and the perception people had of how absurd a Trump win would be. Everyone is slamming them, but what they said was that Trump has a one third chance of winning it. if you were rolling a dice it's the same chance of rolling a 1 or a 2. Which people would be much more worried about if the had £10k on the outcome than they seemed to be about a Trump win. People saw a 66% chance for Clinton and took it that this meant the polls said Clinton would win.
  15. Do Craig, Peasepud, Scottish Mag, Manc Mag, Papa Lazaru, Smooth Operator and his mate know Leazes got banned. With Alex and Jimbo making relatively recent returns there could be an old school resurgence,
  16. There was an article yesterday claiming that if John Stewart was still on the Daily Show rather than Trevor Noah then Clinton would have won. As if there weren't enough white men like John Oliver ripping the piss out of Trump.
  17. I thought Noel was satirising the dafties who moan about Rafa's selection/formation every game. Would that be giving too much credit?
  18. Trump's people scheduled some time while he was in a lift elevator to get a photo and shake hands. Hardly in the thick of the action in the bunker.
  19. We just got the plans drawn for a fuck off extension and I'm not looking forward to it. Can't imagine starting it in the middle of November either mind, could it not wait till Spring?
  20. Got free preview tickets for fantastic beasts tomorrow and Allied on Thursday. Seefilmfirst subscription paying dividends eventually.
  21. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-37980721 Amazed it's taken this long
  22. This coming from a Clinton and Kerry Advisor. Astounding. Reflects the democratic view that they have no need to convince anyone they offer something worth voting for. Their job was considered finished the moment Trump won the nomination. No pause for thought that their own policies should have been tailored to persuade people to vote for them.
