There's one of them all you can eat meat joints in the Metrocentre now. Get to try loads of different cuts of loads of animals. Never been to that one, but the one in Leeds was lush. -
How do you feel about St James' now compared to in the past
Happy Face replied to ajax_andy's topic in Newcastle Forum
Not sure about that... they say "mirrow" instead or mirror and anyone who says that is definately Makem (and also stupid in my eyes) I say "Mirrah", dunno where that leaves me. Thought mackems would say "mirreh". -

Probs from Shields though I'd imagine? I've met many a person from Shields, Jarrow, Fellgate etc that sound distinctly Makem but support newcastle Nar they probably sound more like us than mackems, Happy Face and NJS will be pleased to see this crack -
I've switched to the Go launcher and widgets in preference to the HTC ones. So far so much better.

Carroll`s career so far in Liverpool
Happy Face replied to Lake Bells tits's topic in Newcastle Forum
You make it sound like it can only be the drink enhancing his performances or harming them. You think it can't have little effect either way? Nothing else, like a team built to play to your strengths surrounding you, has any impact whatsoever. Daft. -
Carroll`s career so far in Liverpool

Cos he hasn't done it. -
Any ideas what that means about his private life? That's what I was wondering, no-one on that forum seems to expand on it either.
-
Aye, but they've failed in the playoffs 2 years running and look like hoying away the chance of automatic promotion again this year. It's not totally ridiculous that there's some frustration. Still agree it's a daft decision like.

How can you complain about both ot these though... "Out of form players constantly picked, team selection messed with every game" ?
-
I can't stand it when other fans tell me how Allardyce deserved more time so if those tht watched the games could see something I can't from results, then they know better than any of us I suppose. I don't even know what half of this alludes to... You only had to see a game to know we were going nowhere. Bad signings, bad tactics, poor substitutions and formations. Out of form players constantly picked, team selection messed with every game. The McCombe debacle, re-signing Cads etc, etc. Allied to the fact he is a man of supreme arrogance, little intellect and a with private life as tangled as his public/football life has meant he has finally gone and i am DELIGHTED!! the man is tactically inept! P177 W87 D51 L39 Their own fans know best but I can't tally these

You'd have thought Huddersfield would make him walk to get the compen off Leeds. Very generous of them to do him/them a favour.

Shane Ferguson tearing apart international opposition
Happy Face replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
I don't think we do too bad tbh, one way or another the youth setup has hoyed out out Krul, Taylor, both Ameobis, Ferguson, Vuckic, Chopra and Carroll (off the top pf my head) who are in the first team squad or demanded a fee when they moved on. It's about 1 per year of varying quality. Carroll himself has funded academy player wages for the next 10 years, and that's all they need. If Krul were sold, that would make it a very cost effective program. -
debatable isn't it? It was, a very long and dull debate in the "Ashleys Transfer History" thread. The BBC are going with it now though, so I am too. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/16899448

Ant 21/06/11 - We wont sign any single player for a double figure transfer fee as long as Ashley is here. Cisse signed for £10m

I could see it being taken that way....but then, I never said that, so got no idea why you've quoted me as doing so. I'm not comparing players here, ability wise or positionally, just the progression of youth players into the first team. In a sense it's easier to make the step up at the likes of Arsenal or Man U, where you can be carried by those around you who win ganme after game. But you still have to have the ability to replace whoever's already there, and at those clubs the standard is much higher. Walcott, at just 2 years older than Ferguson has played 200 more top flight games. Ox C has played 5 times as many as "shane" and he's 2 years younger than him. Andy Carroll had 4 times as many top flight appearances under his belt by the time he was 20. More important than all that though, Ferguson still looks like a ballboy. He'd have to be an incredible Zolaesque talent to make up for it. He just isn't. Like you, I have the highest hopes for Vuckic out of the 3. Hope he exceeds my expectations. -

You can't expect every youngster to be an Oxlade Chamberlain though, can you? Even so, the jury is still out on him! Each player is different and all three are prospects still undergoing their footballing education. Bit unfair to write any of them off at this stage just because they aren't in the first team and all showing signs that they're not the next Shearer or Rob Lee. Walcott bust in on the scene very early but he's hardly setting the league alight at the moment. He's still capable of becoming a very good player but too has a lot to learn before he realises his potential. Just have to trust that Pards knows what he's doing bringing these guys into the team and judging whether or not they are good enough to stay at the club in the long term. I'm not writing anyone off. Not saying terminate contracts and hoy them on the scrap heap or owt, and I pointedly said I don't expect them to match Ox-C at all. But I don't see any of them being anything more than bench warmers at NUFC while we're in the Premier league. I'll hoy it in the predictions thread, none of them will start 20 games in a season at NUFC. -
You weren't moaniong about people buying their wives presents or having a romantic day though. You were moaning about "the clip of people in here who 'don't buy into the commercialisation of valentines day'". If you think the multi-billion tat industry that surrounds valentines day is something to embrace, all power to you. No need to get like the poppy fascists against those that don't though. I got wore lass a card and some overpriced roses by the way. She was livid i wasted my money.
