To be fair Leazes... (3+6+2+2+13+13+11+11+4+3+5+14+7+13)/14 = 7.6 its the 5th highest Nobody is 1st every year, so nobody is 1st on average, but these positions are the 5th highest ? You see this, of course you do. Gotcha, all these years with you banging on about 5th and I never realised that's what you meant. Sounds reasonable. Not done the sums like. Assume you have. -

Ashley 2011 is by any measure a better chairman than Ashley 2008. As we've discussed before though, there are still very recent indications that he doesn't understand our potential or the windows of opportunity that have to be taken when presented....or he doesn't care about them. Going out and bringing in a top draw partner for Coloccini in January while we were sitting pretty, would have galavanized us, it could have secured our position and the captains signature for next year. Having not done that, both hang precariously in the balance. -

On the whole, we've made more transfer profit without reinvesting than any other Premier League club. Your individual examples are all just snapshots of the big picture. Are they just snapshots? Or are they an indication of the way we've conducted ourselves in the transfer market recently? It's obviously the latter for me. Yeah, they are just snapshots, cos they're just 3 examples from dozens. We're clearly still tens of millions in profit on player trading since 2007. By the same token, I can appreciate that if we hadn't sold Carroll, we wouldn't be. Would that one decision change Leazes mind and leave him happy that we aren't a selling club, irrespective of all the other deals done? I doubt it. -
Good to know, cheers, looks like the multi will work out cheaper for me though, now i know it exists.

I did Can't remember it exactly, but was summat like "marriage should be a 50/50 partnership. Pedro, you need to realise that anyone who believes that knows little about women and even less about fractions" EDIT: *groan*

Think it's top 5 because the likes of Everton, Villa and Fulham have finished 7th the last few years and we should be doing better than those clubs. -
Not quite an even playing field making predictions for the season 8 months after everyone else.

Whatever anyone admits, the prediction thread will show Leazes and i were wrong at the end of the season when we finish above 12th. Those 5 positions won't change anyones view of whether the club is being run appropriately though. -
Cheers, found some American Airlines & BA combos for £800, so that's champion....as long as the bell ends don't strike.

It's an option cheers. Think i'd drive back rather than fly if that's my best bet, It's only a five hour drive between the two, so I could use the last day to do that in the same time it would take to check in and out and have the palaver of an internal flight.

Never in the course of human history have so few disagreed over so little for so long. -
Can anyone tell me how to book a reasonably priced return flight to the US coming back from a different airport to the one I fly into? Following the advice of people in the thread i want to fly into LA and out of Las vegas, Looking at the usual comparison sites and a one way ticket to LA is £900+ while a return ticket is £700+. So it'd be chepaer for 2 return tickets...though border control might excavate my arse if i do owt dodgy like that. There must be a better way?

High five Leazes. Gemmill won't have seen that line of argument coming. -

Half price season tickets were sold prior to the name change. So it hasn't decreased then. The crowds were increasing steadily with our performance on the field, the name changed on Nov 9th after the Everton game, we then had the peak crowd of 52,000 for Chelsea - tickets would all have been bought for that game already prior to the name change - and after that, yes there does seem to be a drop off (except for the draw of man U which filled the stadium again).

Also listening to the new Air soundtrack for Le Voyage Dans La Lune. They're consistently brilliant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5Goo_PvTJ0

Not sure if anyone has hoyed up youtube vids, but a search on "Talabot" didn't get any results.... Barcelona house producer John Talabot has a knack for capturing the very specific kind of bliss associated with dancing on Mediterranean beaches at the height of summer. A penchant for rising chords means that all his melodies make you feel like raising your arms and face to the sun. Talabot also has arguably the greatest sense of build-and-release since prime Booka Shade: ƒin is full of incredible tension-releasing moments, from the extended break in Destiny to the entrance of Missing You's bouncing bass. The generosity of Talabot's sound can also be ascribed to the amount of disparate ingredients he puts to use in service of his aesthetic – particularly the variety of human voices on display. There are wordless chants and bright, optimistic pop hooks; an echoing scream is plucked from a horror film and deposited in the middle of a carnival on Oro y Sangre, while on So Will Be Now, cut-up vocals coalesce gradually and gorgeously into recognisable language. All of humanity seems to be here – and it's busy celebrating being alive. http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012/jan/26/john-talabot-fin-cd-review As the album closes with Pional returning for "So Will Be Now"—circles of the Temptations' "Just My Imagination" echoing in symphony as a base for one of the album's most spacious and elegant deep house gems—it's clear that Talabot picked the right title in Fin Spanish for "the end," Talabot's said in interviews that he chose it when he was happy with the year of work he'd put in and wanted to put a concrete close to the process. The man should trust his instincts; it may be only early February, but is without a doubt an early contender for electronic album of the year. http://www.residentadvisor.net/review-view.aspx?id=10382
