Saw him at a talk in at Jarrow Buffs. He was great value, wasn't hanging on just to do his his half hour after the auction. For the full 5 hour+ stint from the start to the end of the night he was tapping his glass every ten minutes for attention and telling crackers.

Newcastle’s gain in finding Streete could well end up being Sunderland’s loss. He picks up the story: “I was at Boldon and I played for Harton as well. “I was at Sunderland when I was nine for two or three months but I did not really enjoy it. “I went back to my boys’ club for 4 years instead

What the hell are they offering? Training gear to keep plus expenses? -
Only 2,769 English coaches hold Uefa's B, A and Pro badges • Spain has 23,995, Italy 29,420 and Germany 34,790 http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jun/01/football-coach-shortage-england

Don't Germany have about 500 times as many coaches as we do? Kids Sunday league in the UK is basically run by window cleaners in their spare time across the land. Mad. I remember when I was 10 thinking my manager didn't have a clue what he was talking about.

Oh yes, that's right... "The FA's National School of Excellence is to be closed in two years' time following recommendations from the new technical director Howard Wilkinson, who wants the centre to be replaced with academies at leading clubs. "It's because the school has been such a great success that we have decided the time is right to change the system" said Wilkinson, attending the school's annual caps day this afternoon.

Why exactly did the FA close Lilleshall?

Is it low? £91.1m is higher than we've ever paid i think...£40m more than our last reported wage bill following the cuts. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oNlATJE_aFg/Tuhq9uXZnJI/AAAAAAAAEvc/cgiRomCyc3U/s400/17%2BTottenham%2BWages%2Bto%2BTurnover.jpg £70k cap is lower than other clubs, but more than our £50k. -

They've played together for 4 games when you take out cameos. Stoke, Man City, Man u and Chelsea. Of those I'd say Guthrie might have been been the better player against Stoke. -

What a thread by the way. Every NUFC topic going back 15 years encompassed in one place, focused on how it effects this seasons drive for Europe. -

I was basing it on what you posted. I'm sure all the top scouts have noticed the Guthminator and look forward to the 8 figure offers for him in the summer. It seems unless you're being contrary or sarcastic you can't debate football to save your life. Sarcasm is all that remains as I've pointed out that Guthrie provides none of the goals and none of the assists Cabaye does and obviously that's what we need without Raylor (our other top assist provider) and alongside Tiote (who does neither). You can repeat your opinion that Guthrie has played better here and there, and we could list the games where Cabaye did better (it's not worth me repeating others here though). I could also add the fact that Cabaye was an ever present in our 11 game unbeaten run and has only played in 5 defeats all season despite playing 21 games wheras we've lost 4 of the 10 games Guthrie played. But it's pointless, because it's clear to anyone with even a passing interest that Cabaye is just better than Guthrie and for someone to claim otherwise and then call others contrary is irony in the extreme. -

Yet Cabaye's last 2 games before he was banned for kicking an opponent in the face were a 5-2 battering by Fulham and an awful 1-0 defeat against Brighton, in both games Guthrie had a better game than him in my opinion. So when Cabaye has an off day, the whole team suffers. When Guthrie plays to his best it has little impact on the result. I'd put my faith in Cabaye being hungry to put in a performance at home after missing a few games, however he might have underperformed on the road before his ban. -

After a 5 nowt drubbing I'd ring the changes wherever possible. Perch and Guthrie out, Cabaye and Tiote in is about as straightforward a change as it's possible to make.
