  1. You can't sell all the players, or you won't have any players left to sell.
  2. He wouldn't want to leave though. No other club would match his wages.
  3. Like the accountant did with Souness. Gemmill!! Leazes is backing you 100%.
  4. Leazes as always is spot on. It's a ridiculous notion that Liverpool would sell Carroll for a profit. ..and that says it all about them. Not what they did with their own youth products such as Michael Owen or Steve mcMananman or Robbie Fowler who were sold at a profit or refused lucrative contracts. Or even the huge profit they realised from Torres. Those are unimportant in the grand scheme of things. What's important is that their cheaper replacements are winning medals. oh!
  5. What does the league table say at the moment? Doesn't it say something among the lines of European qualification? Something that we failed to achieve numerous times under FFS. Thanks to Baggio, we know it doesn't quite, not just yet..... NUFC Finish 6th Liverpool finishing 5th NUFC Finish 7th FA Cup Final consists of teams already qualified for Europe Liverpool finishing in a European position.
  6. Can't see that he suffers from any stick whatsoever really. He comes on to rapturous applause. It's not the clubs fault if he's poor when he comes on and people make the factually correct observation online (and we aren't talking 'competent but not world class' when we say poor, we're talking Obertan shit without an iota of the pisstaking to go with it, cos the bloke is clearly a talent). Even the likes of Parky and 2J, his biggest cheerleaders, are only saying give him time. No-one is defending the performance. And I don't think anyone is saying he shouldn't get more time either. We do like to construct these arguments though, as if people are in complete disagreement, keeps things ticking over.
  7. His best interview was the one they showed on Fantasy Football with Barry Venison (in an awful suit) after the Man U away game I think. He answers his question and then seems to be turned off. Just stares at one spot on the floor for 2 minutes while Venison answers his question. Youtube has drawn a blank unfortunately.
  8. Am I the only one that can't stand Chris Kamara? I think Jeff Stelling is the only one of all the bellends on Sky that I could sit through a pint with.
  9. "He has talent but he only expresses it sparingly," said Deschamps, who left Ben Arfa, one of the most talented French players, on the bench for most of the season. http://football.uk.reuters.com/leagues/ligue1/news/2010/05/06/LDE6420UJ.php Marseille President "Clearly, he is not committed enough physically. He does not do enough for the team, does not sweat enough for the shirt. If that is what Didier [Deschamps - manager] thinks, I cannot contradict him. "I regret this deeply because, as a player, he has what it takes to be a great. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=711820&cc=5739 It's not a Pardew problem, it's a Ben Arfa one.
  10. They've won 1 game in which Bent didn't score this season.
  11. I love the old fella at the front who's a bit mutton and didn't hear the PA so has no clue what they're all celebrating, but feels like he should applaud in case they put him in a home.
  12. The news that Cheesy Chips are half price at The Bridges brought about scenes reminiscent of VE day.
  13. Bent out for 3 months. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17177740 Not good for the lad or England, but....... Me and Meenzers bets look to have got a boost.
  14. Wouldn't even matter, we'd be too busy Harlem globe trotting around their box for 90 minutes.
  15. I wonder if Pardew has watched that game at all.
  16. Me neither. Ben Arfa's form is probably worse than Cabaye, but he has the excuse of being played out of position. If you sat him in the hole behind the front 2 and asked Guttierez, Tiote and Raylor to cover his free role then there'd be no excuses, and hopefully he'd display why it is he's so despondent out on the right.
  17. Tiote was doing all his work for him on Saturday anyway.
  18. He scored a world class winner against Blackburn. He was still shit in that game too.
  19. Exactly, you can count on one hand the number of times he's started in his preferred position of CF/RW/LW and 3 of those were against 3 of the top 4 clubs in England, in 2 of those he won us a penalty and set up Ba twice who was unlucky not to score and then after a poor first half against Chelsea he hasn't been given a run in the team and from an outsider looking in, it seems as though Pardew just doesn't fancy him and doesn't want to give him that chance to show what he can do apart from cameo's from the bench in which he's not playing in his naural position That's a long winded way to say he deserves it for winning a penalty.
  20. It's only £210 a head if you and 11 mates want to do it and get seats in the Milburn. Or get 15 mates to pay £220 each and you can get an executive box too. http://www.nufc.co.uk/page/Hospitality/MatchSponsorship Toontastic should sponsor a game with all those donations
  21. Might be a while, the match sponsor on Saturday was (honestly) "Dave's Stag Do!"
  22. Apart from Fulham and Villa i'm not quite sure how anyone can be in a worse financial position.
  23. Pardew.... "The strategy Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias have followed has put the club in a position of relative financial strength. "Compared to a lot of other football clubs we are in a good place. You have to worry after what has happened last week that a couple of other clubs could be in trouble this summer - but we are not in that position. "That is down to Mike and Derek. That policy of buying younger players and being very tough with contracts and shifting the power a little bit from players back to the club has proved so far to be successful. "There are a couple of other models that have been similar. Spurs have gone down that line and bought young players but are now in a position where they can actually buy experienced players. "I think, hopefully, that is now the next phase for us. Where we are right now -we are pretty healthy." "One of the big things that has helped me is that the agenda is out in public. That is important that Mike and Derek come out and say: 'this is the financial climate - this is how we work'. So that makes it a little bit easier for me. "But we will still have problems down the line. Losing some of our best players to the best clubs is still going to happen because we are still not in a position to stop that. "But we won't be able to protect our best players until we get more revenue and bigger sponsorship in. "The higher up the table we finish the easier it will be to attract not only new sponsors but also top players. We are now getting sound-bytes from agents that they would like to get their players here. It is a good sign." Reminds me very much of what Kinnear was saying back at the start of 2009 before relegation... "Financially we're very sound. We don't owe a bean as far as the club are concerned" Rangers have gone into administration with debts of £14m before christmas, with a £49m tax bill on the cards. Portsmouth have gone into administration with £50m of debts Our debt is currently £150m.
