It's disappointed me that none of the more moderate labour leader hopefuls haven't more full throatedly jumped on the Corbyn bandwagon so as to be able to bridge the divide between the momentum new blood and the old centrist blairites. You'd think, looking bewyond the election that this is the difficult job for anyone, to unite the party behind an inclusive ideaology, because as is evident from 3 elections in a row, neither wing can succeed without the other. Perhaps they have to keep their powder dry for another 3 years and the risk of embarrassment was always too high in doing that. Cooper seemed a bit more vocal late in the day.

Having initiially focused on his campaign and escalated it for the ratings, the US media was in lock step opposition to Trump. Even Fox struggled with backing him. The media can have some impact, as can the Russians and the FBI. But it's the candidates and their policies that ultimately decide elections. Corbyn isn't against free movement and May is. Regardless of how badly may has failed to curb immigration she can say she's for a reduction and Corbyn can't.

Toryesque how little CT thinks about these policies impacting people on here and their families. When it's football you can laugh off the trolling, when it's lives, you're being a cunt.

Aye. It'll all go. Apple don't have a free membership. Spotify do. You can listen to anything on a PC and you can shuffle any playlists on a mobile. With Ads.

Imagine (hope) most of the unfollows are from Rangers fans rather than Newcastle fans. Been surprised how few want to argue. I know people like to stay in their bubbles and only hear ideas that confirm their beliefs, but I expected more confrontation than the one or 2 I've had defending Tories.

About a hundred. Doubt I've changed anyone's vote either. It's not like Twitter is capable of that.

Has this white man had an iota of that pressure since this bumbling gaffe... on a MUCH more straightforward number. Or this white man Understand she's on the front bench, but it's WAY out of proportion.

If we lived in a just society I've had some optimism. Unfortunately we live in a world where Shirley Chisolm (1st US black female member of Congress) is on stamps, in the National Women's Hall of Fame and has a Presidential Medal of Freedom, but Diane Abbott (1st UK black female member of Parliament) is on the sick having been hounded out of her position by the press because she didn't know a number off the top of her head and couldn't recall which of 127 recommendations from an 8 month old report had been implemented or not..

Difference is, all the polls were close in those cases and the results swung to the right because 1. people are ashamed to admit they vote out of self interest 2. people are ashamed to admit they vote out of hatred of 'the other'. 3. Left leaning young people respond to polls but don't go to cast a vote. There's no precedent at all for what you predict.

Forget Abbot and go after me ma.... Mam "The doctors have give me an appointment in December, it's a disgrace" Me "It is, who you voting for tomorrow?" Mam "I'm not sure, I might not bother" Me "Well if you're angry about what's happening with the NHS would you not be best voting the Tories out" Mam "Well there's more to consider than that isn't there. I mean Corbyn supported the IRA!" I wouldn't believe people this stupid existed if I wan't related to them.

Total agreement. I've defended her on here as well. Daily Mail today refer to her just as Corbyn's ex girlfriend, dismissing her 30 years of re-election. Google "Philip Hammond Maths" since he got his HS2 numbers more disastrously wrong than abbott her police numbers. There's one or two references to it come back. Google "Diane Abbott Maths" and it's open season, pages of contempt and ridicule.

Excellent that. Cheers

Yes. And that Mike Ashley would have us in the champions league final within 5 years 6 years ago.

In the UK the government just send the police around to smash up journalists laptops. It's not state dictated reporting, but there's valid reasons we're falling down the press freedom table.

Could have had a laugh on that phone call mind. "Yes I'm a massive racist and that's why Timmy can't go. You aren't black are you?"

Not sure about your game changing there Wolf. £15 sounding much more appealing. He needs a hoverboard and hotwater tap type solution that takes less of his time, not more.

I take your point about how I've made it reflect on the Tories. Agree, their "recovery" predicated on austerity gives them a two third reduction in deficit since the crash to pont at. I see the recovery as something we could have spent our way towards or cut our way back to and the only measure of success for either is how quickly it was achieved. In America, where they have not been as severe with cuts, the recovery was much more rapid. Here it's taken 9 years to get close to where we were before the financial crash. The tories still aren't able to generate a level of income that will get the deficit lower than any pre-crash labour figure though, so when CT is having his usual dig about Tory financial prudence and Labour profligacy oi think it's fair to frame it in this way.

I left it out exactly because the crash was a global economic disaster, not one caused by spend and tax that CT thinks Labour can't get right. They did fine with their version of it for 11 years.

After 11 years of the last labour government (2008) the deficit was £41 billion 7 years into a Tory government that has slashed mercilessly the deficit is £43 billion. The benefit that yongsters have is that they don't buy into received wisdom. The older ones seem to think that because the bins weren't collected back in the 70s no Labour government should ever be allowed to handle the finances again.

Said it on the last Abbot shambles and will say it again, disgraceful media behaviour. Fella is revelling in drip feeding clues about a report he's just read that day but was published 8 months ago and included 127 separate recommendations. Any fair interviewer would provide context within the question "8 months ago Lord harris recommended more physical barriers, would you agree with that?" The first thing Abott said was "we need to revisit the report" suggesting that it's a mistake to have not acted on it and it needs reconsideration, but Mr Sky man has put a lot of work into learning specific bits that afternoon, so he goes after her for detailed, specifics so he can get his retweets. She's fucking useless at waffling her way out of a question so she got caught like a rabbit in the headlights. That has to be an MP's main ability in this day and age.
