Newcastle United Finances Ending 30th June 2011

I don't believe that for one minute. I wasn't on the board at the time but it was brought up here > http://www.toontasti...nt/page__st__60 Although my experience of him reveling in a defeat was him bumping the European thead after we lost to West Brom. Looking at Leazes' posts after the game, I think this is the closest it gets to what's described... http://www.toontastic.net/board/topic/30437-fao-leazesmag/page__view__findpost__p__910315 Brilliant that's he's said 4 words and there's several pages of discussion on him again though. His bell end will be red raw. -
It's pretty close to what's in the Transfer History thread.... Out Kevin Nolan -£4,000,000 Wayne Routledge -£2,000,000 Jose Enrique -£6,000,000 £12m (£2.2m out from £9.8m SR says) In Yohan Cabaye £4,300,000 Gabriel Obertan £3,250,000 Rob Elliot £100,000 Davide Santon £5,300,000 Papiss Demba Cissé £10,000,000 £22.95 (£450K out from £23.4 SR says) Total £10.95m spend (£2.65m out from £13.6m SR says) I'm just confused what the the accounts are talking about.. those amounts are nothing like what's been reported or what the Swiss Ramble and we have estimated as a result (if the Swiss Ramble did estimate it too). Installments?

He doesn't have a post in the entire thread. -
Album could soon be on my best of 2012 longlist.
-
I'd guess there'll be a £4k fine for each of our players on the pitch at the time to cover the cost.

Lucky Scrooge McAshely has a big swimming pool full of coin in the back room he can take it from. Sound financial footing wins again.

Some people might have thought so in the past. Others may have thought he was a exceedingly wise sage of a man. I'm sure no-one will be harking back to old arguments now he's back though. -
None more black. Those on 9k-20k could get a hand rather than those over £150k though. Still, at least it'll be a bit easier to encourage Europes top players to the club

How many points will we finish the season with?

stop your moaning man. He's BACK! It's like the WWF when the Ultimate Warrior got back in the ring and did his running around pulling the ropes thing. -
Yeah, I just meant i'm glad i don't have to do the sums. Point stil stands for CT though. Anyone earning less than £7.5k is no better off and EVERYONE above it is. The allowance is such a small amount for Wayne Rooney as to be insignificant, so he gets his rate of tax slashed when no-one else does. Poorest - £0 - £7.5k No better off. Middle earners - £7.5k - £150k £0 - £400 better off Top earners - £150k to whatever £400 - huge sums better off (like a top flight footballer on £10m a year, will be £500k better off)
-
Right you are....misread Wikipedia combined with a lack of understanding of tax. Glad I'm on PAYE
-
Surely there is a sliding scale of poor receiving tax cuts from 10% to 100%. Wouldnt you agree? No. People that earn between £620 a month and £750 a month get 100% of their tax. No one else saves anything, unless they're in the top band, they get back 10% of it. Another way to look at it is the effective overall tax rate of someone earning under £9k. with their allowance it comes out between 2% and 5%, so they're getting a 2% to 5% drop on the sliding scale (down to zero). Those in the top band (where the allowance is so small as to be ineffective) are getting a 5% cut across the board (50% to 45%)...a better deal than the vast majority of the poor.
-
According to my calculations, it will knock over £400 off my tax bill each year. I welcome it! I think this is the tax threshold being increased, not the tax allowance. £6475 - allowance everyone gets, unchanged. £7445 - Threshold, people that earn less than this pay nothing. Increased to £9k. If you earn over £9k, you save nothing. Thought your business was paying you a better wage than that

Is it not because we requested a hearing and they didn't?
-
Aye, what sort of cock-end starts a discussion on the pros and cons of the budget before the details are even announced?
-
Go on ? The poor is a very broad term. You said they'd get a 10% tax cut, then related it to those who are being lifted out of tax altogether...which is a 100% reduction. I get the impression you don't know what cuts are being given to who. The way I read it, it's a very narrow band of people who save. Nobody earning less than £620 (the poorest of the working poor) and nobody earning more than £750 a month.
-
Or like the poor are getting? Where are the poor getting that from?
-
Dodgy decisions are one of the the best things about the game. Otherwise, why have a ref on the pitch at all, getting in the way of the ball and players as they do? Why not have a big klaxon and jumbotrons to award decisions?

Looks like the dream of Villa's relegation is over. With Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man U and Spurs all left to play I can't see them picking up that many more points and Blackburn should pass them soon, but the bottom 3 are so shit it looks like even 33 points could be enough to stay up.
-
As evidenced by the recovery. Yes, if only our biggest markets in Euro hadnt been facing disaster. Twas a budget for the times we live in as this one will be. Tough but fair. So I can expect a 10% tax cut like the wealthiest are getting too?
-
Its all about wealth creation, you know, that little thing that keeps this country going. The lie you believe is that a tax cut for corporations will entice them to base their operations (and thus create jobs) here rather than abroad. When it comes hand in hand with the approval to offshore even government contracts to the cheapest international bidder do you not question the contradiction there?
-
Only CT could view the removal of the 50p rate for top earners and the cut in corporation tax that will fund NHS cuts as a good deal for the poor. The change in the threshold to £9000 will save anyone earning it £125 a year....£10 a month. Let them eat cake.

Private data on British drivers will be stored offshore Secret move by IBM, which runs London's congestion charge, will allow access to sensitive DVLA information The government has secretly agreed that the "particularly sensitive" personal data of all 43 million drivers in the UK can be contracted offshore to India in a move that will allow the private firm running London's congestion zone to cut costs and make more money. Data from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, including addresses and registration plate numbers, along with credit card details, will now be accessible to staff outside the UK following a review by ministers. The prohibition was rescinded after IBM, which runs the congestion charge zone for Transport for London (TfL), lobbied for a change. The company has been repeatedly fined since it took over the contract from Capita in 2009, making the £60m deal less profitable than it had hoped. However the move to relax the rules around the sensitive data, which has not been publicly announced, raises concerns in the build-up to the London 2012 Olympics about the increased risk of fraud. It is understood that a risk assessment carried out within IBM has also identified a potential threat to London's reputation should the changes lessen the ability of staff to deal with problems in the congestion zone IT systems. It also warned of the risk to the security of sensitive data. The move also appears to contradict ministers' recent insistence that they would resist any work on government contracts going abroad. The transition allowing staff abroad access to the data is expected to be completed by 18 May. An internal email sent by IBM's commercial manager earlier this month, and seen by the Observer, says: "Since go live, TfL has directed that we retain within the UK certain support roles with access to data that they considered particularly sensitive… TfL has recently completed a risk assessment with the DVLA and the Department for Transport and has concluded that they no longer require this additional level of control… As a result we have commenced a transition exercise to manage the changes to our support organisation over the next three months." Labour MP John McDonnell said he feared the change would cost British jobs. "Despite all past promises from the government, the decision to offshore this sensitive information database will not only cost jobs but open up vast opportunities for fraud. Offshoring the congestion charge operation just as we host the Olympics also risks making Britain the laughing stock of the world as the new system inevitably experiences teething problems." The Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union said it was concerned that the decision had come just as the government was consulting over whether to close 39 DVLA offices to centralise processes in Swansea. Richard Simcox, from the PCS, said: "It appears neither IBM nor DVLA were planning to tell anyone about it. The government should call an immediate halt to the DVLA's plans and ministers should explain to MPs and the public exactly what has happened and what are the implications." A DVLA spokesperson said: "All IT systems must be managed to the same standard as if they were in the UK. We will ensure that all appropriate controls for data protection are in place." http://www.guardian....-to-go-offshore Sorry if it's a bit of a dry subject. Just want to do a straw poll. The unions are up in arms about loss of jobs and are using the data risk to put a downer on it...but it will make for big savings. If it happens it'll potentially be the first step on the majority of government contracts being sent abroad for the cheapest bidder. Whatever the rights and wrongs of the savings and the job lossses, do you care if someone in India is handling your sensitive information or a charver in Swansea?
