The talk last night was whether or not Ben Arfa's goal was better than the one against Blackburn in the cup. The lads who weren't at that game almost had those of us that were convinced. It was from his own half, not against a B team rolled out for the cup, the turn at the start etc. But watching that Blackburn goal again just now...i think it pisses on yesterday. Both were better than Crouch mind, and i still think the streak of piss will win goal of the season just because he's a gangly fucker you wouldn't expect to pull it off.

In all honesty I still don't recall any criticism of Ben Arfa that was particularly unfair. Games were passing him by earlier in the season and he was giving the ball away often in his eagerness to be the one who produced the spark. He's settled into it much more now, and it's what we've all been waiting for/hoping for to see stuff like this... Opta - Hatem Ben Arfa today became the only player in the PL this season to make 7+ dribbles and complete all of them. Diego.

Depends on the personnel and the opposition. We tried 433 earlier in the season and we were shite. I think Pardew has said how pleased he is we can switch to and from it at will depending on how things are going.

Our away form against the top ten isn't great. 1 point from 21. Goes to show how well we've done in games we should be winning (all the home games and away to the poorer teams) but its that extra bit of quality we'd need to show to take points away from Chelsea and Everton.

You had a lot less time for Pardew though and wanted Ben arfa to put in a transfer request. His deft trout tickling approach to Ben arfa that so infuriated for so long seems to have got the very best from the lad.
