Reached it's nadir in the games Jonas missed and has peaked following his return like Daft to attribute team performance to individuals tbh. He's been disappointing in a season when Cabaye, Tiote, Taylor, Cisse and other big performers have let us down too.
-
Asking if he's finished when he's played more than any other player this season except Santon? Despite his injury keeping him out of a few games. When he's 29 year old. Calm! Down! Lynn!

It's difficult to reflect your true opinion when discussing something with CT. His arguments tend to get so extreme, so black and white, you inevitably look like you're arguing the opposite view, when you really just want to temper one of his flights of fancy. For example, most would agree Pardew has been found wanting a bit this season...but CT has to go overboard and tout the sack. There's no concetrns about Jonas being raised that weren't clear when he arrived. I think the points raised in the Jonas thread from 2008 are as valid now as they were then... http://www.toontastic.net/board/topic/21786-guti-for-me-is-an-enigma/ The effort he has continued to put in since then though, whatever shit was going down, has to be applauded. He's a reliable if limited pro. Well worthy of a place ahead of any other left wing options we currently have.

The passing play that led to the penalty was a thing of beauty. The other day LBT challenged anyone to come up with a goal we had scored that came from a good passing approach. He ignored the 4 or 5 I listed, but that was the best example yet. It was incredible how annoyed the crowd were getting with the players for passing it about though. Makes it really hard for them to work up chances by passing it around. Seems some people aren't happy unless the ball is played forward towards the opponents box within 10 seconds of winning possession. My cousin commented to me the arseholes should count themselves lucky they don't follow Barcelona he was spot on like, all that passing about and holding on to the ball and tiring the opposition and waiting for a good opening rather than trying to force one and losing the ball.

Wish the world would end/humanity would be wiped out in my lifetime. Would be mint to be one of the few that were here for the peak of human civilisation. Preferably when I'm eighty odd and we've won a title or two.

If we were talking mobile phone signals I agree we should proceed and monitor the alleged dangers. There's nothing to suggest it causes harm...until it causes harm. And we're constantly researching the dangers. Drilling 8km down, pumping pressurised water and toxic chemicals into the crust of the earth, expanding cracks in the bedrock and withdrawing the valuable product, while leaving behind the toxic waste sounds harmful in the first instance, and probably needs some monitoring. Unfortunately the energy companies doing it tend not to invite outside geologists on site to monitor the process, in fact they collude with government to narrow the scope of whatever research is done. Hardly sounds like they believe it's more environmentally friendly than the wind.

Probably the 8 year contract signed a couple of months ago, when we were 4 places better off.

Perfectly valid. Would you not also like that concrete unbiased evidence before granting licences?

Of course the football analogy has relevance. CT has produced volumes on that topic. We all talk about subjects we know little about. We learn from being involved in the conversations with other people who know more too. I went for a read on Wikipedia and that thanks to Gemmill's raising the issue and I learned a little. Not enough to say it shouldn't ever happen, but enough to find out that there's a big question mark.

As sympathetic as I am to the injury situation, that's just bollocks. Colo and Tiote weren't injured. They brought that shit on themselves.Tonights opponents have a worse injury list than us. We have 3 first teamers injured basically (Taylor, Ben Arfa, Cabaye). We don't have the squad to deal with that. Other clubs have had injury crises as bad, but they have the depth to fill gaps with able bodies.

When it comes to back/neck/shoulder trouble GPs seem to be totally useless in every single case I hear of. The other half suffered really bad for years, since before I met her, at one point the GP asked how her love life was and whether it might be depression cos she didn't have a boyfriend They'll do owt to try and prescripe anti-depressants. She's been going to Monkseaton Chiropractic for a few years now though and it's much better. Had a recent twinge, but otherwise nowt for ages. http://chiropractormonkseaton.co.uk/ Well worth the £30 a session each month to keep things loose.

While others go on the piss, he goes on the pious. -
Cisse had no right to shoot for half the goals he scored last year. If he was any sort of team player he would have walked that ball into the corner 4 minutes into stoppage time away to Chelsea. Strange thing to criticise a top scoring striker for shooting.

It Happened One Night All the way through I kept thinking I'd seen each scene before, but assumed it was on some clips show or other, but then I realised I have seen the whole film before, it just hadn't been that memorable. Still watched it through to the end though because it is very pleasant. Much prefer His Girl Friday for a comedy about a smart talking journalist getting the sassy girl despite rubbing each other the wrong way though. Miracle on 34th Street (remake) I'm not a bah humbug sort, I love the Muppets Christmas carol and Santa Clause The Movie, but this film really annoyed me. Ostensibly the premise is that if you don't believe in Santa you're a cunt. But the underlying notion is that if you don't believe in God, or have faith, despite lack of evidence then you're a cunt. The judge decrees santa is real, because money has "in god we trust" on it, so if the government sanctions that belief then he has to sanction belief in Santa. Bollocks! Get "in God we trust" off your money. That's the lesson to take from that. Much prefer Harvey for a comedy about ignoring evidence and not having to be right. -
None of us being geologists is no reason to shut down the conversation. None of us are Premier league mangaers either but we've got a helluva lot to say on Pardew and Newcastle. Natural to be concerned about the effects of a process already banned in other European states being pushed through by a government opposed to regulation and more politically motivated by stimulating the economy than protecting the environment.

Just making a start on these, cheers Chez. I got Scale by Herbert a few years back but that's as close as I've come to any of this stuff. I was still listening to Brian May and Genesis in '96

I don't understand the daft fuckers that insist on jumping out of their seat as soon as the seatbelt light goes on...or sooner. Surely they know they'll be stood for 20 minutes in the aisle and then another 20 minutes at baggage. -
