Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
Happy Face replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Did krul have to make a save in the first 60 minutes. The fact that Perch has shored up the defence before is irrelevant. It wasn't called for yesterday.- 10610 replies

Yeah, that booing. The chants of " you don't know what you're doing" for a while after too. We went from comfortable one minute to fraught for the last 30. I don't know how much it translated to the TV audience but it was palpable in the stadium.- 10610 replies

I agree with him. Without the booing and the agonised atmosphere in the stadium. We would not have lost that game. We never looked like confidence was any issue at all until then. His problem is he's not taking ownership of that problem having been caused by him.... Ignoring cause and effect.- 10610 replies

I used to, realised it was all my own doing and cut out the things that caused it, to excellent results. I'm sure I've mentioned what those were before. I'll do a search.

Shola looked like Maradonna...I mean maradonna now though, not back in the day.
-
Good read that. We were getting our moneys worth yesterday. Their keeper was playing a blinder. Cabaye's "Koeman" was worth the entry alone... The crowd turned on Pardew when he put the kaibosh on that sort of nonsense.
-
Astounded there were people defending Pardews decisions in here. Marveaux for Perch was tactical. It was negative tactics with a lead at home. Last season, in 4th place he wouldn't have been booed for it. He'd get the benefit of the doubt. The negativity would not have engulfed the whole stadium, and we would probably have seen it out one nil. This season though, with so few points on the board he has not got that luxury any more. Defending such a slender lead at home will not be forgiven. If he didn't know that Carver or Stone should have. To repeat the mistake minutes later was a disgrace. Cabaye was doing over head kicks just before his number went up so hadn't taken a knock. Shola can't play 90 minutes in peak condition, but he left him on. Even if Cabaye had needed to come off though there were more threatening players than bigi left on the bench. These are not questions of having few tools, which is true, they're questions of getting the best from the tools you have, which he's not. Up until yesterday there were reasons that could be given (some might call them excuses) for our lowly position. The fans were still on board with Pardew, singing his name for the first 45 minutes. You could feel the attitude change completely in that second half and the bitterness in the pubs after was tangible. Big test for Ashley this next 2 weeks. I don't think he'll change anything while the window is open.

Heard about it but haven't looked into it. Thought it sounded great when i first heard but If you've bought CDs all over the place it seems a bit of a half measure. Google play let you hoy up about 2000 albums for free anyway. I manage all my music on my PC with iTunes. Anything I own on CD I also put onto Google play. Only stuff I have downloaded goes on my iPod where I can 5 star stuff and gauge what should be bought. I have price watch set up on find-cd.co.uk for those I want to buy where I can specify if x drops below £y anywhere, notify me and I'll buy it. Then I use Groove shark/Spotify/we7/8track/Pandora/uberhype and other web ones without any sort of system. I did subscribe to spotify for a while but cancelled it when we were cost cutting to buy the new house. I want to subscribe to another now and grooveshark looks best value on a 3 monthly plan.

Groove shark has a phone app too. But if you don't want to subscribe it's free via the website

Every poxing seat fine...except for the ones I sit in, buried in snow

Much prefer an online player to use on any machine to a client that needs to be installed like spotify

Were you gonna go for once like?

Massadio Haïdara signs for Newcastle on 5.5 year deal
Happy Face replied to Tooj's topic in Newcastle Forum
Didn't they say in the summer that the plan was to improve the bench rather than the first 11. Common sense would say you improve the bench by bringing in such quality you knock players out of the first team onto it. Frugality says otherwise. -
What a bizarre pricing structure
-
They've since earned 9 points from 6 games, losing just one. This could be a laugh.
-
Had them bottom on 9 points from 13 games
-
Lasted as long into the new year as you'd expect of anyone on the Adkins diet.
-
Or a team I'm consistently impressed at the number of people getting on Williamsons back as if it's his fault he's getting a game. He's never shown any great ability. If he fucks up it's expected rather than disappointing, but without him it's Perch....or Coloccini on his own. Yet still people rage at him. It should be a rule that if you're going to complain about something you offer up the alternative.

Last season we averaged 67 long balls per game, this season 73. Hardly a massive increase. Last season it was 19 crosses per game. This season 25 crosses. Like cowbell though, however we play, your cry goes up "more crosses". If you want to go back to last season you should be asking for less.

Did Mauricio Pochettino pull up trees at Espanyol?
-
Honeymoon period? I agree we're shite...my point is we were last year too, just the tight games have gone the wrong way this time and taken away all the momentum/belief we built up then.
-
Quite right too. Watching the vids gave me a warm feeling remembering how popular the players ALL were too. Do kids still hero worship our players like that or are they as jaded as me about the pricks we put out every week?....and that's the good ones
-
We only lost 2 of our first 10 games. 2J is spot on. We started out with performances as "solid" as we had last year.
