  1. Are you a mackem in disguise sent here to start threads to make it look like anyone gives a shit?
  2. Thought a lot of it was bloody gorgeous. The indoors were dark but full of shadows & iconic silhouettes. The outdoors were like a 70s western. Interview with the cinematographer http://blogs.indiewire.com/thompsononhollywood/immersed-in-movies-cinematographer-janusz-kaminski-talks-lincoln
  3. Lincoln As a lefty liberal non-compromising do-gooder I enjoyed the Tommy Lee Jones strand of the story. Interesting look at whether a president might defy the constitution for good, is it breaking the law or bending it? I'd heard it was the 3rd draft of the script that DD Lewis had signed up to which led me to look up when Spielberg started on the film. I was surprised to see he first started on the project prior to 9/11. Seemed to have a lot to say about post 9/11 politics. Obviously taking Lincoln as it's focus and point of comparison it was kind on presidents who make difficult short term decisions for longer term results. Lincoln was bending the constitution to end a war, to end slavery and maintain the union though, leaders of the US over the past decade (and longer) have done so in order to torture and go to war.
  4. I thought it was awful and my wife did too. Her mam liked it though.
  5. Aye. No surprise that Liverpool are the most wasteful in the league. Would be interesting to compare to last season and see how much more clinical we were then.
  6. Watched les mis last night too. Enjoyed the end of the day song and the Sacha baron coen one but after 90 minutes I was flagging badly. The last hour was an awful slog. Reminded me what a great film south park the movie was....which I could have watched twice in the same time. Also reminded me of the worst of Trapped In The Closet....but it had none of that sense of humour.
  7. It's water proof. I like the idea of controlling my music in the shower. Checking if a text/call is worth getting out of the pool for or taking off the marigolds when I'm doing the dishes.
  8. The pebble watch that kicked up a fuss on kickstarter last year is shipping now apparently. Think I'll have one of those.

  11. Not really. It would be nice to wash our hands of him though.
  12. I suppose attributing that behaviour to "the jews" is like attributing Obama's drone campaign to "the blacks". Gotta choose your language carefully in Westminster.
  13. I'm 100% certain Coloccini is infinitely more committed to keeping us up than Michael Owe was.
  14. If you're gonna spell your name out in £20 notes and Instagram it at least move the fucking plugs out the way and don't make the letters smaller at the end. Cheapskate.
  15. Don't think the captaincy makes any odds to his perfromance. He's trained and played throughout the uncertainty though and by all accounts he's absolutely the finest example of a pro at the club so should keep the armband I'd say.
  16. That makes more sense. Always preferred what Run DMC did with it.
