  1. She clung on just long enough to see her party pick up where she left off. Would have died happy.
  2. Eh? Bastard. Was supposed to be working down south this week so hadn't got a ticket. The silver lining to being Ill was that I'd be home for the game. Never thought it would sell out especially after the first leg result.
  3. Finished and could not recommend it highly enough. Turns out the soundtrack was by British sea power.
  4. Think we only need another 2 points. Piece of piss. Be nice to get the 3 points that make us safe off the mackems.
  5. Aye. Really glad i stuck with it. Worried at the start it was just another police procedural. Enjoying the second season at the minute.
  6. Watching this http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01nyz3p 100 years of bfi footage of British coastal areas. No story or owt. Just short reels edited together. All jolly japes and then small reminders of massive events like the wars and the suffragette movement. Lush soundtrack too.
  7. Me too. I was hoying up from 4am. First day on the sick in years.
  8. Of course we want them to go down. Sort yasel out man.
  9. Just watching motd2. Di Canio bragging that mignolet didn't make a save while the stats scroll along the bottom saying Chelsea had 7 shots on target.
  10. Didn't realise how tasty the fixtures on the last day of the season look if they all stay huddled like that. Wigan v Villa could be great fun. Norwich at Man City and the Mackems at Spurs...fraught.
  11. I'd prefer Ben Arfa not to play on Thursday and not to start on Sunday. If we brought on Ben Arfa and Shola as a double sub in the second half it would be worth a goal psychologically.
  12. Not sure what that's doing here, but OK, I'll play along Gen. John Abizaid, former commander of CENTCOM with responsibility for Iraq "Of course it's about oil, it's very much about oil, and we can't really deny that. Former Bush speechwriter David Frum, author of the infamous "Axis of Evil" claim in Bush's 2002 State of the Union address "In 2002, Chalabi joined the annual summer retreat of the American Enterprise Institute near Vail, Colorado. He and Cheney spent long hours together, contemplating the possibilities of a Western-oriented Iraq: an additional source of oil, an alternative to US dependency on an unstable-looking Saudi Arabia." Current US Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel: "People say we're not fighting for oil. Of course we are. They talk about America's national interest. What the hell do you think they're talking about? We're not there for figs." Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan "I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil."
  13. Good times. Gutted they celebrated at Shearers corner rather than the Strawberry this time like.
  14. The first teamers (based on most games played) have nearly all played more games this season than in the whole of last season already. The ones that haven't have been injured... Santon's played 12 more games Tiote's played 3 more...and another ACON. Cisse has played 9 more (including Freiburg) Your beloved Marveaux has played 23 more Williamson has played 1 more Perch 7 more Sissoko 4 more (inc Toulouse)
  15. Fulham are in better form then a dozen teams in the league too
  16. Worse for wear and underlining in bold? Kudos
  17. Couldn't believe people coming out of the game Saying we didn't deserve to win. If the roles were reversed and we had the second half Fulham had people would be disgusted.
  18. He scores when he wants He scores when he wants Pappisse Cisse He scores when he wants ... and he wants to score in the 94th minute
  19. That's the game the word was invented for.
  20. It just needs more quality. When you're playing in the Europa league you need a better squad. We've played more players than any other club this season...and half of them aren't good enough. Our first team puts others to shame....our subs wouldn't get in most first teams though.
  21. I could have said Bigirimana or Amalfitano...you know the approach is to have a punt on players with lower values than their potential suggests, for whatever reason, rather than pay the rate for currently performing targets we need to fill obvious gaps. You've said yourself... You've also suggested that Ashley's penny pinching is harming us on the limited coaching staff. So why would he invest more in a manager? I can see a point whereby lack of faith in Pardew is tested to such a degree that you change your mind on that...I just don't see the massive difference between now and when you were saying the above back in November.
  22. Ashleys record signing remains cheaper than (or matched by) fees recently paid out by Fulham, QPR, Sunderland, Villa, West Ham, Southampton, Stoke, Everton and all the usual suspects. Only Reading, West Brom, Wigan, Norwich and Swansea have spent less on their record signings. I've been very happy with the business we've done recently, but don't try to have your cake and eat it. He's not been paying the going rate for top flight quality.
