The £11m taken out was from last year. when we spent about £10m net. He'll be taking out £18m this year and we're yet to see what the net spend is. £7m back off Ba. I would expect us to spend quite a bit if we stop up though, that £18m is covered by the extra tv money.

People take too narrow a view. Its not just that we played Thursday and Sunday...but we've played a game every 4 days for 6 weeks. The macjems had played 3 games in 4 weeks. Its the persistent playing/travelling that contributes to lethargy....not just 4 days of it.

The fact that Pardew has never been able to put out a first choice starting 11 since the last transfer window makes it difficult to say really.

No doubt it can be lumped in, but the accounts specifically state the loans are non-interest bearing... I think Ashley is more interested in a stable financial ship than Abramovich is. I don't think he wants to sell in particular, but if buyers start looking around the league again, he wants to be best placed to attract them.....explicitly stating that no interest is being paid helps on that front. I don't think anyone will be buying Chelsea any time soon.

Ashley is dutybound to release accounts every year, it's all detailed in there. The club has not been paying him anything in interest. There are many things to abuse him for, but he's also made some very good decisions for the financial benefit of the club. Even before he turned to public enemy number one and got us relegated he had transferred all the debt to himself and waved any interest.
