Everyone has disappointed to some extent. I think I'd give it to Cisse though. He's never stopped running, looking for space and creating chances whether scoring goals or setting them up. He's scored 13 and it should be 20 if match officials weren't shit. If he get's someone quality to play a bit closer to him he'll be flying again.

They'll be the same as Chelsea, Man City, Madrid and Barca now. One trophyless season and they'll replace the manager. There isn't a manager on the planet that would have the good will Fergie built for himself at that club. Moyes might win a trophy or two...but it won't last.

What is Moyes' relationship with Rooney like these days?

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
Happy Face replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
The inquest should note that in the first 10 games we only lost twice...to Man U and Chelsea. That's the sort of run last season was built on. Coloccini, an ever present in 11/12, went and got himself sent off late on at Liverpool though, and we did not have anyone approaching his quality to fill the gap. We lost the next 4 on the bounce. Even when Colccini returned we had 11 other senior players out injured. Ferguson, Tavernier, Bigirimana, Sammy Ameobi and the like were being used to fill holes and just aren't good enough. In that run up to January we lost 10 out of 13 and the season was killed by that period. We've since only lost 6 out of 13.- 10610 replies

It was only 2 nowt at half time when Perch came off. Tiote got dragged off 20 minutes into the second half too. We conceded 4 with Ben Arfa, Goffran, Sissoko, Cabaye and Cisse on. The problem wasn't personell though, it was the fact that none of them had any clue what the bloke alongside/in front/behind them was up to. That's something to sort out in the summer*. For now we need as settled a starting 11 as we can manage, that can play with each other in a system they're familiar with. *Pardew really needs to decide on his vision of how we will play, he needs to let his chairman know what he'll need to fulfil it, and he needs to drum it in to each player what their role is in that system. Otherwise it'll be curtains before christmas.

It's not like. it was only the Liverpool game where Pardew started Perch and Tiote. Apart from that our front 6 hasn't been particularly cautious. If you've conceded 10 goals in 3 games.....16 in 6....you best look to settle the team, not fanny on with ANOTHER shape.

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
Happy Face replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
I was going to start a poll yesterday (but i thought it was one for the summer) that splits it into 2 questions... 1. If you were the billionaire owner, would you replace Pardew? 2. Given that Ashley is the owner, do you have confidence in him replacing Pardew with a better manager if he sacks pardew? I think the vast majority would answer yes & no to those, in that order.- 10610 replies

Shane Ferguson tearing apart international opposition

Based on time on the field Obertan has a better record for providing assists....and Shola comes third... Obertan - 134 minutes per assist Marveaux - 163 Ameobi - 344 Ferguson - 346 Let's start those 4. -
Which players make us harder to score against?

I noted that too, on the back of my view posted before the West Ham game that these last 3 games should see us bench anyone bought in January, where possible. Go with what we know, players comfortable alongside each other. -

Don't think it's fair to discount his poor performance in those games though...Perch played in both too, and while he's not much better than Tiote, it didn't seem to skew him as badly. Tiote was dragged off against Liverpool while they still had a few goals in them as well, so it wouldn't have skewed him that much. -

Aye, you probably can't read too much into it, but I think the defensive cover Gutierez brings is plain to see and backed up by the numbers...on the other hand, Tiote's dreadful season is made to look even worse than anyone thought. I'd be interested to see the offensive numbers too. See who is most effective from back to front when we're on the offensive. Not sure if any site does stats for goals scored while a player is on the pitch though. -

The Fantasy football website has a list of how many goals a player has conceded (how many goals the team has conceded while that player was on the pitch). It also has the exact number of minutes played. In 3240 minutes of football Newcastle have conceded 66 goals. So, one every 49 minutes would be average. Based on that you can look at players who average more time on the pitch without conceding and those with shorter times between conceding goals. I've limited it to those players with more than 900 minutes on the field (ten games) Based on this, our 5 best players at shoring up our defensive capabilities have been... Gutierez - 58.9 minutes per goal conceded Cabaye - 57.9 Williamson - 55.9 S Taylor - 53.9 Ben Arfa - 53.6 On the other hand our worst players on this front have been Tiote - 41.3 Sissoko - 42.7 Perch - 43.5 Marveaux - 46.7 Debuchy - 47 Both shocked and sadly unsurprised that Tiote has been the least effective player (statistically) at doing what his job is supposed to be.

Shane, Shaney, Fergie, Ferguson or Marveaux.

Of all England's footballing exports in the modern era, none were as successful as McManaman. In four seasons at Real Madrid he won two Liga titles and two UEFA Champions League winners' medals, http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2013/final/ambassador/index.html
