Loved this Slideshow. http://www.slideshare.net/bge20/2013-05-bea The drop off in Microsoft's market share is incredible. Seems to me as if we've had internet enabled mobile devices for a generation or so, but Microsoft still had something like 90% of the the connected devices on the planet as recently as March 2009....now it's just 25%.

http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/rise_up_or_die_20130519// Chris Hedges might be my new favourite. In 2012, after the Obama Administration signed the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, Hedges sued members of the U.S. government claiming that section 1021 of the law unconstitutionally allowed presidential authority for indefinite detention without habeas corpus. He was later joined in the suit, Hedges v. Obama, by activists including Noam Chomsky and Daniel Ellsberg. In May 2012, Judge Katherine B. Forrest of the Southern District of New York ruled that the counter-terrorism provision of the NDAA is unconstitutional. The Obama administration has appealed the decision.

It's just a ploy to stop his posts being searchable. Stevie changes every 6 months for that

Something to be happy about at the end of this shitstorm of a season On another note... On average teams drop one or two places the season following Europa League qualifying. However, since the Europa League started in it's current format 4 years ago not a single qualifying team from England has taken such a downturn in the league. We dropped 11 places. Fulham had the next worse drop when the dropped just 5 places from 2009 to 2010.

Some more drawings for all you pie chart fans. Appearances.... 2011/2012 Here you can see just how consistent the spine of our team was last season. 6 players all started over 30 games. Over the season a manager selects 418 players to start a game. Just those 6 players were selected 211 times...over 50%. Only 24 players were needed. 6 of those playing 2 games or less. which meant a core of 18 players. Remarkably consistent selections. 2012/2013 Here you can see just how inconsistent the past season has been. This time, only 3 players managed 30 games. We had to go through the 8 most played players before we'd covered half of the seasons selections. 27 players were needed this time, only 2 of them playing 2 games or less. Which means our core was a much wider spread of 25 players. There was none of the consistency in team selection of the year previous, less opportunity to work up a settled system.

I had a pop at Owen on Twitter over the weekend....but even with that odious scrote, who deserves it, I removed the "@" when retweeting him, because I'm not a cock who uses Twitter to bully and abuse. Can't imagine what drives fans to do it to one of the hardest working players at the club.

You may say that I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope some day you will join us and the "poo" will all be gone

Isn't Stevie always banging on to anyone who will listen that he said we'd finish 12th at best, before the season even started?

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
Happy Face replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Actually, I was talking bollocks Southampton, Man U and QPRs season average is lower than ours since January too. Still, lately we've played less long balls than 3/4 of the league. Think we need to define "hoofball" though. I see it as our defenders/keeper launching it into the opposition half. Most annoyingly when not under any pressure, but also whenever we're soaking up wave after wave of attack. We saw an awful lot of that early in the season. That is what we're inclined to do with Simpson, Williamson, Taylor, Krul and Perch in the team. Their replacements have been much less inclined to play that way. Coloccini, Elliot, Haidara, Santon, Mbiwa and Debuchy are all MUCH more inclined to play a short pass, than a long hoof. This is where we've seen a reduction in long balls. That said. Pardew has no clue whatsoever about what it takes to have a team play through an opposing defence. Where we STILL persist in long balls is from further up the field, no matter how long we pass it around in midfield, go back to the keeper, try both wings....in the end....inevitibly...if Ben Arfa doesn't run with it into the box, if Cabaye doesn't have a shot from distance, we float an aimless one into the box in the hope of somone getting on the end. It's infuriating to see this pattern played out ad nauseum and understandable the frustration it creates in the stands.- 10610 replies

Its not inconceivable that the club captain came back to a camp in discord after a month away and has been involved in restoring harmony.

Too right DK our grandads never went to the football to see an effective deployment of a 433 formation with an advanced back line, good off the ball movement and seamless transitioning from defence to attack. He went to get away from the wife and to have a drink with other men. Let's never forget what football is really about.

Its the view of morons CT. Hence Cabaye getting second place

Newcastle United Supporters' Trust will present Tim Krul and Sylvain Marveaux with Player of the Season awards at St James' Park on Sunday 19 May. The awards, following an online poll of more than 3,000 Newcastle United fans across the North East, UK and the rest of the world by NUST will be made before Newcastle's last home game of the season against Arsenal. Michael Thewlis from the Trust said: "The player of the season award for Tim Krul is a recognition of his consistent performances again this season, a year after becoming our first choice 'keeper in his first season in the Premier League in 2011-12. Tim just beat Yohan Cabaye to the top award, with Davide Santon coming third. Although Tim has been absent with injuries this year, he has still made 31 first team appearances. In the games he has played he has made many match-winning and match-saving stops that has done much to keep us in the Premier League." NUST also are awarding a Most Improved Player of the Year award to Sylvain Marveaux. Michael Thewlis said: "Fans really do appreciate seeing players develop at their club and think it is important that the work those players put in is recognised, and that is what this award is all about. Sylvain was the run-away winner of the fans' most improved player award, with Davide Santon coming second and James Perch coming third. Despite only starting in 20 games this year, fans have been impressed by Sylvain's positivity and battling, hard-working performances and they will certainly be looking forward to seeing him next season."
