  1. To be fair... Cisse £9m, Anita £7m, Mbiwa £7m, Debuchy £5m.... The proportion of it that is reinvested just won't be where/when it is critically needed
  2. Possibly Debuchy's worst game for us. Ignoring his glaring mistakes he had the worst outfield pass completion, he committed most fouls, was dispossessed more than 93% of players and got himself a pointless booking. Positives are that he made more tackles and more interceptions than any other player. He was just tortured all night long by top top quality, and wasn't getting much cover from anyone else playing on the right. Ben Arfa looked fit again. Glad to see he's worked hard to shift his bait in pre-season. In terms of being a team player, he played 25 passes in 65 minutes, so 0.4 per minute. That's better than Debuchy, Cisse, Mbiwa, Sammy, Dummet, Taylor or Gutierez. He tried 3 dribbles. He had 3 shots, more than the rest of the team combined (2). Cabaye... Sissoko and Tiote (and Jonas) totally lost the fight for the middle of the park. Cisse, weak as piss, he is the other 7%. Dispossessed 4 times didn't get a single shot off. Did a lot of running. Hope Remy helps him.
  3. Nah, stupid stuff like throwing the ball away and clotheslining opponents too. Indiscipline is rife.
  4. We committed 8 fouls last night. Total. Only Cardiff committed less all weekend. We have the worst disciplinary record with 3 bookings and one straight red.
  5. All but one of their players involved in the 4th goal. Only one attempted challenge to win the ball back, in the last of the 48 seconds of the build up.
  6. ...and that would endanger Pardew's position. That was my point.
  7. Incredible how a group of people can so collectively agree that a tonking is totally expected, that the board and DoF have totally let down the manager, that this was the case even before Cabaye was pulled late in the day......and then that group can still express incredulity when it goes exactly as expected...and then blame the manager even with stupid player errors largely to blame. Pardew is an incompetent manager, no doubt. We will not employ a competent manager. We will not back that manager irrespective of competence. I only hope for the best from him.
  8. You think Newcastle should go into any of those games thinking a draw is a big ask?
  9. West Ham Morecambe Fulham Villa Hull Everton Cardiff 7 games for Pardew to stake a claim to keeping the job. We shouldn't be expecting a loss in any of those games.
  10. I think you'd have to be mental to think the class finishes we've seen from Aguero and Toure are what the likes of Crystal Palace and Hull will have to bring.
  11. We won't play man City week in week out.
  12. Was it not Ben Arfa lost the ball that led to the second? Not sure.
  13. I sat down with my lad on my lap and he coped admirably with going one down. After the second went in though he cried his eyes out...so he's gone to suck a boob instead. Lucky bassa!
  14. we ain't gonna finish with a full team.
  15. Tiote shouldn't try to unlock Man City's defence just because Cabaye isn't on. Just keep the ball man.
  16. Or because his people leaked the offer and he's pushing the move with ambivalence about playing.
  17. Christ, I'd forgotten that sinking feeling of looking at our bench when it's announced... subs: Elliot, Dummett, Anita, Marveaux, Obertan, Sammy Ameobi, Shola Ameobi.
  18. Krul; Debuchy, Taylor, Coloccini, Yanga-Mbiwa; Tiote, Sissoko; Ben Arfa, Gouffran, Gutierrez; Cisse.
  19. We proved at the end of last season that Pardew doesn't ask them to play hoofball. With better players on the park we hoof the ball much less. The problem is Pardew hasn't got any of the players to understand what our attacking system is, if there is one.
