  1. Newcastle played 35 long balls on Saturday. Puts our average at 48 for the season. The least long balls we played in a game all last season was 46 (Swansea). We never hit less than 50 in any other game in 12/13. Other Averages for the season so far.. Man City - 57 Chelsea - 56 Arsenal - 50
  2. http://www.fourfourtwo.com/statszone/8-2013/matches/694931/team-stats/4/OVERALL_01#tabs-wrapper-anchor We're playing 424, not 433 Nowt better than a couple of like for like substitutions either. Too often we have changed our whole shape to accommodate the changes we make with the limited options we've had available, either during a game or before it. Hope we can put a good run together based on this set-up allowing players to learn not only their position/role, but also those of the players alongside them.
  3. Good luck to the funny fuck. One of my dad's favourites and as a 2 time prostate cancer beater himself, he'll be gutted by the news.
  4. Jesus! Felt like I was sitting on krakatoa (east of java) by the end of the call. Power walking down the room while nipping it in I must have looked worse than CT on the treadmill. All sorted now, you'll be pleased to hear.
  5. Frustrated. Need a shit and stuck on a conference call.
  6. The Swindon fans liked it... http://thetownend.com/index.php?topic=52499.msg1225931;topicseen
  7. Never saw anything more than the goals, but from what I've read it sounds like Remy has been a confidence boost as well as an actual attacking threat. The fact he and Ben Arfa were causing trouble on opposite sides is great and apparently gives us a cutting edge we lacked...but the winner was scored after Remy had gone off and we had exactly the same personnel as were available last season and in August. The fact we kept pushing following the departure of Remy is pleasing. Also goes to show the difference signings make to the mentality of a club, something Ashley needs to learn about the summer.
  8. Watching Rufus Wainwright do Judy Garland on Sky Arts. I loved Want One and Two but not been fussed on much else of his. But this spectacularly camp effort is bringing out my inner gay nicely.
  9. Watch that then read the write up he followed it with... http://www.theguardian.com/culture/2013/sep/13/russell-brand-gq-awards-hugo-boss?CMP=twt_gu

  12. Defender should have been sent of for preventing a goal scoring opportunity in that case. Shit refereeing either way, but every body gets it.
  13. Nice one Tooner. Sleep is overrated anyway.
  14. He's set us up to play attacking football. In his interview he espoused his attacking vision and his frustration at not previously having the talent available to implement it. If anything, today is when you can best judge the bloke, when he has had all the tools at his disposal. Credit where it's due
  15. Characterless? Have you seem loyal villain's avatar. He's like a cross between Bono and Colonel Hannibal Smith.
  16. It wasn't even edited to look like that tbf. Dunno why anyone would take away that impression.
  17. Would have liked to have seen Fuck Buttons in there. I wouldn't have given it to Steve Mason, but his was a better album than some of those nominated.
  18. He'd be more inclined to act if it was a JD sports logo.

  20. Aye. Only allowing staff to change company for 16 weeks in 52 is not on. Gareth bale doesn't give a fuck about being tied into his £300k a week conetract. But this poor lad stuck in Iceland is gonna be on the dole for months.
